Let me start with saying WOW!! The Lomo Saltado was seasoned to perfection! I went during the lunch hour rush and the food turnaround was still faster than other less busy restaurants. What really stood out was the balance between quality and value. Portions are generous, and you can tell they don't cut corners on ingredients. Only draw back is if you dine in, you can't have refills and you have to go up, wait in line, and pay for another drink.

Their chicken taquitos have toothpicks in them and they're quesadillas have pieces of bone their chicken is burnt and to top it off when you try to hold them accountable you get screamed at by the bitch who claims to be a manager so stay away from this place if you can, there is far better peruvian spots in the area. The managers are all on minimum wage slave trips as they like to scream at their customers.

DELICIOUS! My whole meal was delicious, I definitely plan to come back! I tried their chicken sandwich with fries and I'm obsessed with their sauce!

Love this place! Food tastes like you are eating in your mom's kitchen! Everything is cooked to perfection along with an amazing presentation in every dish! We came here to eat and I asked the manager if he can put the Laker game on and he went out of his way to install Amazon prime and made it happen! After a long days work this definitely made my day!

My friend and I tried the lomo saltado--he got chicken, I went with beef--and both were delicious. The salsa was fantastic and really added a great kick. Service was friendly and attentive too.

First time to Caveman Kitchen. Will not be my last. Second, it's close to work. First, because I enjoyed it. A lot. I didn't enjoy the parking. I showed up after work and ended up parking down the block. I thought I might have to do a few laps around the neighborhood but lucked out and caught someone taking off from a spot my car fits. If you know me, I don't have Zoey anymore. My new ride, Caleb doesn't fit everywhere. There are spots in the plaza where the restaurant is, but when I pulled in, nothing was available. Walk in, order and find a seat. I got there early so I had to order a few times as I didn't know when my party would arrive. Not a big deal but just know it's not like you get a bill for the table and just add to it. Get up and order, get your number and everything will be brought out to you. Though not quite full service, the staff is friendly AF. If you need anything, just ask. Also really helpful and I appreciate that when I did order, one of the counter staff told me to order the dessert and let her know when I was ready to avoid having to place another order. I really enjoyed the food. The Mariscos Saltado hit the spot. Along with the Plantains for appetizers and for dessert. See pics. I even had their "Caveman" beer. Sorta like Pacifico but a full bodied and went well to kick off the three days weekend (went last Friday). Dining are can get a little loud with the music then adding the people. So, don't go hoping to have intimate conversations. Go there to eat. Eat well. Like I did.

I would really give this 3.5 stars. I ordered the popular Lomo Saltado and it was just okay. I felt like the meat needed more flavor. It came with rice but no beans. The sauce was really good, just needed the meat to taste like the sauce and it would have been much better. Also I felt there was way more fries in it than actual meat. But not bad. I just wouldn't get it again. Shopping center parking.

Ayoooo! Back at it again at Caveman Kitchen for their iconic Lomo Saltado. It's one of the best in LA, reasonably priced and delicious AF. It's a cool lil spot where you can catch a game. Quick service, parking lot and cards accepted. Try out this lil Gem!

Bomb.com! We get the steak lomo saltado and the chicken taquitos dorados! Super flavorful, my toddler is a picky eater and he loved the beans the taquitos plate comes with!

Didn't care much for the rice/beans but not bad. Comes with blue corn tortillas, but honestly the octopus and almond sauce (think b*tchin' sauce) were delicious. Great cherry tomato pico de gallo. Scallop aguachile - wowwww the scallops were so fresh, literally bursting is my mouth. They were sweet, tender, and perfectly paired with the tangy lime sauce. Taco de pulpo - ok so this is pretty much an assembled pulpo à la brasas, BUT I will say the full meal was more tender because it was an entire grilled piece of grilled vs one tentacle. If with a group, def recommend getting the entree to split vs individual tacos. Smoked kanoachi tostado - delicioussssss the smoked kanoachi (amberjack) was the perfect glue for the ceviche. Another banger. I was at capacity at this point, but the only change I'd make is swapping the taco de pulpo for the ahi tostado. So really, Holbox did everything right, and was so good it's gaslighting me into how I could have ordered more strategically. Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

You could tell people were actually having a good time instead of everyone just trying to get in & out. Great music, the smell from the live-fire grill, people laughing... just a really fun atmosphere. Jasmine was the first one to greet us & made us feel welcome right away. She introduced us to the other bartender, Kevin, & watching the two of them work together was honestly impressive. They were slammed but somehow still managed to be friendly, check in with everyone, make great drinks, & keep things moving without looking stressed. A little later some friends met up with us, & a few of them only speak Spanish. Jasmine immediately grabbed us a server , Angie, who came over & explained the menu in Spanish, answered all their questions, & made sure they were just as comfortable as everyone else. That stood out because a lot of places would've just pointed at the menu & moved on. While we were hanging out, Jasmine started telling us about the different areas of the venue, what each space is like, & how the vibe changes depending on where you're sitting. It never felt like she was trying to sell us on anything. She just seemed genuinely proud of the place, & it made us want to come back to check out the rest of it. Between the cocktails, the food, & how genuinely taken care of we felt, this ended up being one of those nights where you look at the time & realize you've been there way longer than you planned. That's usually a pretty good sign. We'll definitely be back.

We came in around 5:30pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was literally empty. That should've been our first clue. We were seated and then completely ignored for about 25 minutes... no water, no menus, no check-in. We finally had to flag someone down just to acknowledge we existed. Things went downhill fast. When my pregnant friend asked if they had iced tea or coke, the server actually told her she shouldn't be having caffeine and suggested something else instead. That comment was wildly inappropriate, not her place, and absolutely unacceptable. Full stop! Ordering food took forever, and when it finally arrived, it was painfully underwhelming. Dishes were missing items listed on the menu, portions were small, and the prices were laughable for what you get... think expensive guacamole that barely feeds one person, croquettes that tasted frozen, and fries that felt like an afterthought. Add in an extra kitchen fee on the bill and it just felt insulting. Service overall was scattered and disengaged, the space didn't feel very clean, and for a party of 8 being the only guests there, it somehow felt like we were an inconvenience. No warmth, no hospitality, no accountability. This place tries hard to look like an upscale Latin fusion spot, but it's all surface-level. Between the disrespectful comment, slow service, overpriced and mediocre food, and awkward vibes, this was an easy never again. Please save your time, money, and energy.

I ordered the quarter chicken with rice and salad, and I was really impressed with the portion sizes. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and gave me the kind of authentic Latin food vibes that I love. The sauce was definitely the highlight for me--it was so good that I found myself adding it to every bite. The prices are also fantastic. For the quality and quantity of food you get, this place is truly a gem. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The restaurant itself is very small, with limited seating available. The customer service also wasn't the best during my visit. Since the dining area was completely full when we arrived, we decided to place our order to go. While we were waiting for our food, a table opened up, so we asked if we could sit down and eat there instead. We were told that because we had ordered our food to go, we were not allowed to sit in the restaurant. I found that a bit disappointing, especially since we had already paid for the same food as everyone else dining in. Overall, the food was excellent and definitely the reason I would come back. If I'm in the area and craving their chicken, I'd absolutely return--just with different expectations regarding the seating situation and service.
