My first time here, and the food was really really good. I do wish they had a sign letting everyone know the entire place was self seating. Stopped in at Cavos for the first time and I'm glad we did! First and foremost gotta love the ice cold AC when it's 95 degrees out. Seating was ample and service was friendly. Food came out relatively quickly; I had the Cavos salad with chicken and my husband had the Italian sandwich half, which was still big enough for 2! We loved the seasoned curly fries and I definitely want to come back and try the arancini! Prices were reasonable as we both ate for under $40 which feels like a win in this economy. We recently tried Cavo's via delivery. I ordered their Rueben sandwich and my boyfriend ordered their cheesesteak. I also got a side of mac and cheese and we shared an ordered of curly fries with cheese sauce. Food came quickly and was hot and fresh. The curly fries were tasty and I enjoyed the cheese sauce, kind of like a queso blanco style. The mac and cheese was also tasty and flavorful. The Reuben sandwich was huge and very yummy and my boyfriend enjoyed his cheesesteak as well. I'll definitely return to Cavo's in the future, probably in person next time so I can check out the ambience and try some other menu items! read more

It's been a while since I've sat down in a restaurant, surveyed the scene for a minute, and then walked out. Table was dirty. Windows were dirty. Dining room smelled musty upon entering. All the outdoor tables were coated in dirt. There was a sign that said 'no smoking,' yet someone was sitting under the sign smoking. I'm not a prude, I like a good dive bar, but this place was just kind of gross on a beautiful Friday afternoon. We heard the place had good food, but it really looked more like an afternoon hangout for cokeheads. There was one employee working the room. The bartender was hosting, bartending, waiting, bussing... There was an older gentlemen with a Cavo's shirt on that didn't look like he was working. He was busy buying shots for the ten wastoids sitting at the bar. We sat at our dirty table. Looked at the menu. Listened to some real obnoxious behavior from some grown-ass adults, then decided to walk out. We went down to the Stubborn Mule and I had a great cheese steak. This is why people don't hang downtown. The place felt like it needed a pressure wash. *REPLY TO MANAGEMENT - Yes, the vibe at the bar was obnoxious for 5p in the afternoon. I will judge if I'm coming in to spend money eating out! The place was filthy. No one is cleaning. There were 20 drink rings with food crusted onto our table. It was pretty gross. Lunch rush at 530p? There are 2 great Eagles Football sports bars in Orlando, Florida. One is the Wing Shack and the other is Cavo's. The two are quite different. Wing Shack is very large with indoor and outdoor seating. There's plenty of parking. The atmosphere inside is fabulous. Here, they chant the Eagles song after a touchdown, and they even play mummers song at the end... How fun! They have fabulous 50-50 raffles: When I was there, they raffled off tickets with flights to an Eagles game! On the not so good side, the food is just so-so. We ordered early 1st quarter, and the food came out in drips and drabs in the 3rd quarter. Cavo's is a little smaller, but also has indoor and outdoor seating. You have to find street parking, which could be challenging. The atmosphere is also fun, but a little bit more subdued. There are less TVs . The day that we were there, they also put on a Miami game on one TV . There are no chants of the Eagles song, and no 50-50 raffles. One thing Cavo's has going for it is the food. Much better than Wing Shack...Excellent actually, and you can come just for good food. Mama Kelsey has also been spotted here as she seems to live nearby. You must try both! Quite an experience! We stopped in during the Kentucky Derby after we read the reviews and contacted them to find out the number of TVs in the establishment. When we arrived, we were able to sit at the bar and our bartender, Lindsey, changed the channel on the TV closest to us so we could watch the Derby. We ordered Four Roses Mint Julips, which were well made. Donna was our other bartender who also made a killer Mint Julip! Both ladies were pleasant and fun to be around. We enjoyed some great conversations. We were told the owners are from Philadelphia and that almost everything was homemade (except for the curly fries, tater tots and one other item I can't recall right now - dang, Mint Julips!) My friend is of Italian heritage, so she wanted to try the meatballs appetizer. She gave them high praise noting the sauce and the meatballs themselves were definitely homemade! Of course, we had to order the Philly cheesesteaks based on all the information we compiled. They are as good as advertised and as noted in several Yelp reviews! We also split an order of the curly fries with the gravy on the side. The gravy contained shredded portions of the ribeye steak from the cheesesteaks themselves. Great meal! My husband and I came here to grab a bite and watch a game. The service was quick and efficient. There are a lot of TVs both inside and outside of the bar so we had a good view of the game no matter where we sat. The kitchen was out of hot Brussel sprouts, so we opted for tater tots (which they tossed in hot sauce for us at my request). My husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak and I'm Sad to say he thought it was just average. I ordered the vegetarian, which is a fried eggplant Sammie with pesto sauce and arugula and it was phenomenal. The drinks were made to perfection with a great alcohol to mixer ratio. I've finally found it! A real Philly cheesesteak in Orlando! The location in Thornton Park is great. Sitting outside on a gorgeous day was wonderful. Ok, the cheesesteak. They use high quality shaved ribeye. It was soooo good. Not lower end stuff chopped up. Real ribeye. Melt in your mouth. Then it's tossed in American cheese so it melts all throughout. It's not a slice of cheese on the top or bottom. It's in every gooey bite kind of how a steak with wiz would be. Fantastic. A ton of fried onions. And guess what? NO GREEN PEPPERS! THANK YOU JEBUS! Oh and the seeded roll. OMG. That is one amazing roll and helps make it. I'm from the Philly area originally and this would stack up with most of the greats. Is it better than the best? No. But it would deserve honorable mention. Now the only bad part. It's small. I mean its enough for any normal human to be full. But a real Philly cheesesteak should be gut busting. This probably was a 9" roll. It should be 12" with the same ratio of meat. The other slight deduction is they don't bring ketchup with it. I'm sure I could get some ketchup and really the steak was outstanding without it. This place was recommended to me by a Philly guy who always whines about not being able to find a great cheesesteak in central Florida. He said Cavo's knocks it out of the park faster than Bryce Harper and, as it turns out, he was 100 percent right. This is a special cheesesteak. The steak is tender, the cheese is perfectly melted and the roll has the perfect texture for holding it all together. I'll throw in a couple of bonus points for the sesame seeds which have become an iconic part of the best sandwiches in Philly. Even if you're not a steak person, the menu has a lot of other mouthwatering options like meatballs, hoagies and Italian cutlets. It's probably hard to go wrong here. The staff are friendly and fast as well. My server had a great sense of humor. I also had the curly fries with gravy and cheese which were amazing. We found three quick seats at the bar & both the bartenders were super welcoming & quick. We started with curly fries, the pizza bread(added pepperoni) & the French onion soup. All super hot, generous portions & exactly what we wanted. We also got the special which was crispy pork, collard greens & spicy cornbread for 18.99. When I'm telling you it was like my southern mama cooked this meal, I am not lying. The cornbread was perfectly cooked & not overly spicy, the pork was crispy but not burnt & had sauce so it wasnt dry, the collard greens took the plate because we were all shocked at how good they were. It was a perfect, cozy meal on a chilly night. We took two specials togo. Overall the experience was amazing from the minute we walked in to leaving. This will be a regular spot for us now.
