    Octopus Mofongo
    Alexandra K.

I went here with 5 friends while in town. The restaurant was small, but clean. Staff seemed nice. The drink menu left a lot to be desired, listing only wines or sangrias, though they had a full bar. My party split a few apps. The calamari and crab cake were both excellent. My mofongo was fairly tasteless, I picked the octopus out and left the rest of the plate. The sauces pictured didn't do much. Two of my friends had plates with mahi mahi in it, which they didn't eat and told the server the fish was extremely dry and overcooked. The server told us they gave us a discount on the bill for the mahi mahi, it was 10% off each of those plates ... 4$ off a meal someone did not eat didn't seem reasonable to us at all. When we asked the discount to be reconsidered, we were able to get 50% off the two meals not eaten, but not before eye rolls and discussions in Spanish about us (a friend in our group spoke Spanish). Overall not worth the money and wish we had gone somewhere else.

I made a reservation for my Sister's birthday. Reservations are encouraged. The ambiance is exceptional, servers are friendly. We had their empanadas as appetizers and as always it was a hit. I tried the mixed seafood Mofongo and it did not disappoint. If you like plantain, you will love this. It is a popular Puerto Rican dish. My sister had their steak and mashed potatoes. She devoured it. We also tried their Mojito: 10/10. Recommended. Overall I really enjoyed the food and birthday dinner was a success

The place is really nice, the staff very friendly and the food was amazing! I was just walking around from my hotel and saw it, has big windows and decided to check out the menu. Will definitely be coming back.

Wonderful seafood stew, lobster empanadas and plantains with excellent service. Enjoyed our dinner at Cayo Blanco.

Food, drinks, and service was great. Restaurant itself isn't anything to write home about and is cramped but it is worth the visit !

So my friends and I arrived at this restaurant on the day we arrived in Puerto Rico. We were hungry after our flights and checking into our hotel. Thankfully they were opened so we were ready to start our vacation off right. When we walked in they seated us by the windows and got our drinks but within a few minutes we saw a ton of bugs crawling on the floor by the windows. There were a lot of them so we pointed it out and they told us this is normal when it rains and moved our seats although I've never experienced this in any other restaurant, I believed them and completed our dining experience in another section. While this could have easily dropped my rating significantly, they made up for it in our food experience. While the snapper is great overall, it isn't the best in the Condado area. What this restaurant has perfected and hands down the best in the area is their tres leches!!! So good we talked about it many times throughout our trip and even came back to order it to go. So delicious!

Excellent experience! Great customer service. Friendly staff. Beautiful ambiance. Tiny place so I recommend reservations. The empanadas were great especially the steak! The fried snapper was ok. It was my first experience enjoying the entire fish. He was looking at me! . I pretty much ate the center and tail. I would have liked more seasoning. The chocolate cake was excellent.

We were lucky enough to stay near the restaurant during our recent visit so we had dinner there twice. Suggest making a reservation. The space is tight but pretty! Service was awesome both visits the guys treat you like you are the only guests! We tried the whole fried snapper, the lobster, red beans, avocado salad. And desert! All great , fresh, and well flavored. We will be back!

You get the real deal, real Puerto Rican dishes, with the greatest flavors and fair prices. Unless you prefer playing overpriced, find dining restaurants with average Puerto Rican food, which there are plenty of in the area. I'm not able to emphasize how small this restaurant is, it's located right along the main walking strip in Coronado Beach. Maybe 10 tables or so. No reservations walk up wait in line if you have to eat and leave. Not only will you eat the best tasting food during your trip, but probably also pay the least amount of money. We went here twice! Their rice and beans recipe is probably what it's all about! We got grilled shrimp and skirt steak over rice and beans and honestly, I could've had it all week long! This little gem local place is not to be missed! Highly recommended!

We went with the waitress's recommended dishes - Mofongo Churrasco (steak) and Mamposteao Tacu Tacu with grilled shrimp. Flavors were strong and a bit on the salty side, but delicious. We enjoyed both dishes. The Mamposteao Tacu Tacu has a long fancy name but it was rice and beans topped with skirt steak. The sangria was the happy hour cocktail of the night, very refreshing.

Attire was relaxed-- I saw ladies in pants as well as dresses, men in pants and shorts, but the staff was dressed sharply in all black. We waited a bit while two hosts and a manager worked to assemble several tables on the patio for a group of ten which had arrived before us. The patio decor-- murals and greenery, were beautiful. We requested indoor seating near the bar, and were the second of four tables to be filled. The indoor seating was a bit darker, had two bartenders working nonstop, and three televisions were playing inside. The inside seating area was quieter and more intimate (plus cooler in temperature) than the patio option. Our server, Raul, promptly greeted us and asked if we preferred English or Spanish. Promising to give honest recommendations of our selections, he did-- and made great suggestions as well. We started with risotto balls as an appetizer-- the guava dipping sauce was delicious. They were cheesier than my husband could stomach, so several remained on our plate. For our entrees, my husband chose the Ropa Vieja en Canoa (peeled, hollowed out like a canoe). I selected the Fried Red Snapper (served whole) with creole sauce, a house salad (lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, orange slices, mango dressing) and fried sweet plantains. After a bite, I asked for a glass of Blanc de Blancs, which was a wonderful, crisp pairing. We could not finish our meals, much less entertain the offer of dessert. By the time we left, all four tables were being served inside, there were four gyesss eating dinner at the bar, and the patio seating looked maxed out as well. Ropa Vieja was certainly the best dinner experience we've had in these first three nights in San Juan. So happy the reviews were on point with this one!

None had been pre poured so we pointed this out and he took it back and brought a replacement bottle. Was not a good start to the meal. The experience ended up being a bit disappointing. The food was decent, but not anything special, especially given the prices. Some of the dishes lacked flavor, and a couple items came out lukewarm, like they'd been sitting for a while although nothing is piping hot in Europe. I was expecting more authentic, bold flavors which it was not. Service was hit or miss it appeared depending on the server and the table. It took longer than it should have to get our food and even simple things like refills were slow. It felt a little disorganized, especially considering it wasn't that busy. The atmosphere is nice and the location is convenient there but it just didn't quite come together on this visit. Not a terrible experience overall, but there's room for improvement. As a tourist you typically give a place one shot and this was it.

The portions were very large, and we would have been fine with just two menu items! To start, we had the roasted eggplant, lamb 'picadillo', date sofrito, 'Feliche' yogurt. Really delicious and probably best for sharing among 3-4 people as it's a bit heavy given the lamb. Nevertheless, it was really good and we finished it! For entrees, we tried the (1) rice with rabbit, sweet plantain in its leaf and the (2) breaded pork loin, mushroom cream, cherokee tomatoes from San Lorenzo, tostones. Our server was super excited when we ordered the rice with rabbit and I understand why. It was insanely flavorful. Also a massive portion haha. We really enjoyed this. The pork loin was delicious as well, especially with the mushroom cream. Plantains are one of my favorite foods, and these tostones did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's a nice mix of modern decor with homey, vintage elements. There is a very large outdoor space, but I'm really glad we ate inside. Definitely recommend - especially for a group that likes to share!
