I have been to Cazuela a few times since they moved to the new location and I have yet to be disappointed. The margaritas are strong which makes it a great place for pregaming and the food is tasty (especially the avocado chimichanga appetizer). I especially love the service though. I've been here multiple times and have never had an awful experience until today. They've recently opened their new location and although the patio is phenomenal, the service was not. We weren't greeted for 30 minutes while three adjacent tables had drinks and apps before we were recognized. The manager was extremely pleasant but the waiter could care less. If you have plenty of time, check out the awesome patio... if not I'd give it a few months before they're actually prepared for the restaurant size increase. read more

I like the food and the margaritas, but the dining area is pretty ugly. There isn't really a theme for the decorations, it's actually kind of bizarre. When the patio is open though, it's very enjoyable to be out there. read more

Poor service. Waiter got order wrong and tried to blame me. Said when he talked to the manager she got "pissy" with him. Poor choice of language. When manager came to the table she seemed annoyed. Order was fixed in the end but did not feel was handled properly. Will not come again. read more

Food is OK. Nothing spectacular, fairly bland. I find myself here when I want some strong drinks at good prices, Happy hour is the time to go for sure. Other than that its a bit too expensive for some mediocre Mexican food. The wait staff is very friendly/polite though, so that's a plus. read more

Cazuela's can be a lot of fun if 1) you get a seat on the patio -which is unlikely in warm weather and 2) you are not looking to eat exceptional food. The inside is dingy and feels dirty - with old tvs on and horrible lighting. The food is mediocre - perfectly mediocre. read more

Food is good quality and inexpensive, especially if you go during happy hour. All appetizers are half off, including the sampler, which is quite good. Combo meals are tasty and the margaritas are filled with booze. One of the better Mexican joints in Columbus. read more

This place is waaaay overrated. I can't blame them too much for slow service since they've been busy every time I've been there, but the quality of the food can't really be accounted for. I've received stale chips here before, and I've received lukewarm food on several occasions. The fajitas are usually the safest bet since they come out so hot. The margs are very strong here, which is really the only redeeming quality in my book. read more

I have been to Cazuela's three times and I must say, the food is great. Sadly, with each successive visit, the service has gone from adequate to poor to downright horrid. After visiting today, I can honestly say I will no longer be eating here. After seating ourselves, my two friend and I waited 5 minutes while waiters continually passed by our table without even acknowledging our presence. Finally, we got service in the form of a waiter basically throwing a bowl of chips on our table, salsa not included. Five more minutes passed until our waiter returned and after asking him for some salsa, he rolled his eyes, immediately walking away as if our request was asking too much. The meal itself was good, but when it was time to sign the check, I noticed we were overcharged $10. It took another 10 minutes before I could bring this to his attention and after informing him, he once again looked disgusted and turned away. Instead of changing the bill right away, we saw him in the back, speaking and laughing with his coworkers. It took another 10 minutes before he returned with the correct amount. I was relieved to finally leave, but my experience was not done yet, as I noticed that he charged me twice, for both the wrong and the correct bills. While I can only praise the food, the awful service far outweighs all else, which is why I will not be visiting Cazuela's anytime in the near future. read more

benefits from a great location. seriously, there are so many awesome places to eat around columbus, and their business would blow up if they could get on-campus somewhere. let me start off by saying i've only been twice. on that note, Cazuela's is mediocre to good mexican. like all other taquerias, meal starts off with mandatory chips 'n' salsa. salsa is good, nothing exceptional, but some of the chips from the fryer tended to be not-so-much crispy as oily and limp. i am a die-hard fan of authentic tacos and was unpleasantly surprised at how expensive their individual tacos are compared to other, much better taquerias (see Cuco's). regardless, i ordered the fish tacos (i get em anywhere i can), which were a recent addition to the menu. 3 of em came out with the ubiquitous rice and beans. the fish was of decent quality, but didn't have much grill flavor at all. worst of all, all mexican tacos should come with AT LEAST lime, onions and cilantro and sometimes even with some sort of sauce or salsa or vegis. these were literally pieces of fish in corn tortillas with a small spoonfull of pico di gallo. i had to ask for some wedges of lime. as for service, i doubt this is typical, but i really hope it just happened to be our waitress' first day because she kept forgetting things and mixing up orders so much we all felt sorry for her. the churros for dessert were the only real bright spot. like i said, only been here twice and it always seems packed, but i think this is largely due to a wonderful campus location without any real competition around. read more

Man oh man, normally even if I felt a business was sub par I would feel bad about making any public complaints, but this is the only restaurant I've been to where I feel like the bill should have been an apology letter instead. Browsing the menu, it seemed like pretty standard Americanized Mexican food and the prices seemed average. But then our food arrived not even hot, and tasted worse than microwaved frozen food. Everything was bland and lower quality than I thought possible at any restaurant. I had had a long day of hiking and was really hungry and that was the only reason I was able to eat any of it. My chile relleno didn't even taste like a pepper and had some kind of gross marinara like sauce dumped on it. My chimichanga was dried out, with some kind of shredded "meat" in it and tasted worse than a gas station burrito. How the hell can you mess up basic food like this so badly? Also, while eating one of their stale tortilla chips my fixed permanent retainer that I've had for 15 years broke leaving jagged wire to cut up my mouth, which I guess could have happened anywhere, but it certainly didn't help me find any silver lining in this culinary hell. I guess the only way this place stays in business is just having margaritas that the fuckeye students drink while sitting on their patio. This is the worst restaurant I've ever been to, and I've been to that awful Chinese buffet on Morse Road with the sign that says "You pay first." read more
