Century Dragon has been around in Burbank for a minute and I too have been in Burbank for a minute (born and raised) and it took until recently to finally give this place a shot. As someone who's had a lot of Americanized Chinese food, I wasn't much of a fan of this place. I felt the rice wasn't cooked well and certain entrees like the chow fun were lacking in flavor. What did stand out to me was that the meat they use was actually flavorFUL which I did enjoy. Wow!! So I'm not from this area and spent the entire day at universal, naturally after an entire exhausting day I wanted to get something good and filling. This place beyond met my expectations. We had the Szechuan eggplant (with added tofu which was my favorite), Szechuan garlic tofu (3rd favorite), ma po tofu (2nd favorite) and lastly the hot and sour tofu (which was my least favorite, only because the others were amazing) The food was beyond tasty, surprisingly cheap for the portion size, and ridiculously filling. This is the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Burbank. It is sichuan style. They have another restaurant in Monterey Park or somewhere in that area. I always order the sichuan beef. Stopped by for the lunch special sweet and sour chicken (takeout) what a mistake this was! Got home there was no sweet-and-sour sauce on the dish, and the spring roll was barely cooked in fact it tasted more like it was raw and doughy. Century Dragon is THE regular Chinese restaurant which I frequent in Burbank. I used to be a regular at another Chinese establishment -- located in another part of town, but, sadly, that place closed. I first heard about this restaurant from my husband's co-worker who worked nearby, as we were all talking about Chinese food and where you can get really good meals in the San Fernando Valley/Burbank/Glendale vicinity. And she suggested we try this place, since it was her "go-to." So, I've been going to Century Dragon for at least a couple of years, and, I have to say, I have no complaints. The menu is straightforward and basic. My favorite dish is the steamed fish with garlic and ginger. I also like the beef with broccoli and sweet-and-sour chicken. My family and I are VERY much creatures of habit, so we rarely deviate from these dishes. I don't hand out 5 stars easily because places that are 5 star are hard time come by. But when I think about my experiences at Century Dragon, I can fault them nothing. This is the first Chinese place I have been that I haven't felt weighed down by grease. This place isn't doing some unique spin on Chinese food, they simply offer really great, not so greasy Chinese food. I order their Won Ton Soup and was blown away. These won tons are made right there in the kitchen and you can tell. I am obsessed with this soup and once winter hits, will be eating it a lot more. This is mostly why all the stars. Fresh and perfect for Chinese takeout! I placed an order for pick up and it was ready in 15 minutes. Everything was perfect and hot - and their portions were larger than I expected. Their service was really nice too - so that's always a plus. I've been eating here for over thirteen years. Empire shrimp is my favorite, Kung Pao is second. Sizzling rice soup, Mongolian beef, beef w broccoli, and mu shu chicken is epic. This is a nice little shop! My husband and I ordered take-out from here the other night. They had the order ready in about 20 minutes which is pretty good. We got the Orange Beef and the Planet Chicken with a side of white rice. It was PLENTY of food for two people. The portions are very generous. There is ample street parking. This has become our go-to Chinese restaurant in Burbank. I hated Frontier Wok and gave up looking in this area. Our favs are the Orange Chicken and fried rice. Also the wonton soup is simply scrumptious. I have yet to eat at the restaurant itself. We are strictly pick up to go! But after checking out their Yelp page, I must come and visit for lunch! Me and my boyfriend found this place on yelp and decided to try it since the food reviews were good. I love the chow mien veggies paired off with two sides. The portion sizes are big so make sure you come on an empty stomach and ready to eat ! They're mango slushy is good and they're service is moderate. Bottom line: huge portions and affordable prices This place was really good! Even the smaller servings sizes were huge! We definitely left stuffed! My husband who can normally eat 1.5-2 meals at a normal Chinese restaurant couldn't even finish his meal so I would say if you have a smaller stomach that you would be fine splitting a meal with a friend and still leave full. If I were to go again, I would get it to go. It took a really long time to get our food (about 35 minutes) and the service wasn't very good. Most of the time our drinks were empty.
