Cerise auto body, and its proprietor, Sam, just delivered me from a serious and unexpected problem. I took my roof rack off to discover that the previous owners of the vehicle had surreptitiously drilled a hole into the cabin roof, and then covered it with a plastic piece, leaving me to find an aluminum pop rivet sticking straight out of the roof and a major potential source of leak, as well as potential destruction of electronics and computers inside the truck from any said leak. My service shop (British Car Service, also excellent) recommended Cerise auto body to me, so I called Sam up and explained the problem. He told me to bring the truck by Monday morning, first thing at 8 AM. He met me at the door, came out and inspected the truck, and told me that he would fix the problem correctly and return the truck to its stock state. I asked Sam how the truck was doing a few days after dropping it off, and he texted me pictures of the welds that were required to patch the hole, and then delivered the truck to me four days after I dropped it off with the immaculate looking, well matched paint job and patched hole - matched very well to a dark blue color that had 10 years of sun on it! I am including photos for your examination, and recommend Cerise autobody to you, if you are willing to trust someone on their word, without asking too many questions, and / or wasting the owners time, as he is very busy. I've had the unfortunate luck this year of being involved in 2 car incidents - got rear-ended by a truck and also someone dented my car while parked. For the first incident, I had the car towed to Cerise and Sam did all the coordination with my insurance company and kept me updated. I would hear from him before I heard from the insurance company. And the work they did - when I went to pick up my car, my jaw dropped. It looked new - they even took care of some deep scratches for me. The work took a while because of the extent of the damage but I was always kept in the loop. When my front driver side door got dented a few months later, I knew who to call. Do not bring your car here. I brought my collector year Porsche to Sam, recommended by my neighbor who has same car. My issue was rust had developed under the windows at the corners of the front and rear driver side windshields where water got under the window seals and paint. I was told by Sam and others I got quotes from that it was required to take the windows out to fix it correctly. I agreed and asked when the windows were out to call me so I could see the level of rust damage and take pictures to document the repair was done correctly, it is an appreciating car. Days went by no call. I stop by unannounced and he then tells me that his glass remover was afraid he might break the glass and so they filled in the holes without taking the windshields out. In essence short cutting the repair by simply filling in the rust holes with metal and bondo and were going to paint. You could not properly repair the rust holes without removing the glass and rubber seals as he had said originally and so did others. I had gotten three quotes and Cerise was the highest. I was okay with that because I wanted it done right. If I had not shown up I would never had known otherwise. Without being able to see the level of damage I could not guarantee that it would not rust again. I took pictures and pulled the car from the shop the next day on the advice of two other auto body experts. When I told Sam, he started yelling and turning purple with veins popping out of his neck. Cost me more to have it done right by someone else. read more
