When they came back out, they said it wasn't their fault and I'd need to pay for a contractor to come out, open the wall and determine the leak. Two independent contractors identified it was because Chicago Roofing Solutions didn't properly seal the new roof to the scupper box, resulting in thousands of dollars of damage. They refuse to reimburse for the damage, actually gaslighted me saying it was my fault for bringing in a contractor and stopped responding when trying to discuss the situation. They were fine until something went wrong and then it cost me thousands for their mistake.

One of the things they did was tale the flat roof coping off to put a membrane under. It seems simple enough; coping comes off, then goes back on. This was 2/23/24 (winter in Chicago). Fast forward, I noticed moisture behind my walls in the area where they worked. I contacted them to come out, which they did on 7/23. They wouldn't bother to get on the roof to look and said, if you don't have water damage on the ceiling, it's not the roof- and they left without looking at it. You could see the coping was pushed back from the ground, not covering the entire parapet wall. I was told it was fine. A few weeks later, I started to have black mold and yellow water damage staining on my ceiling, where they removed the coping. I called again and related I have water damage on the ceiling now. They came out, and this time, they went on the roof. I again mentioned that the copings looked like they were set back further than they were, and it looked like the face brick was exposed. I was told again that it's not the roof, that everything is fine, and that I should contact a general contractor because it's not the roof. After he talked at me, giving me a bunch of stupid reasons it's not the roof, I asked him to leave. He proceeded to call my husband to see if he wanted to talk about it. Maybe if a man had pointed out the coping, he would have acknowledged it. So, I contacted two other roofers and only told them someone was out to do work. Now I have mold and water damage. BOTH of the other roofers said that the coping was NOT installed properly and was sitting too far back, allowing water to get in between the coping and the face stone. After the shit job they did, feeling disrespected as a woman, and their flat refusal to admit they made a mistake, I wouldn't even think of letting them do work on my home. I'm paying someone else $2000 to fix the coping, and then I have moldy drywall to replace and paint.

The other companies charged a lot of money for spot fixes in very small areas of the roof that ultimately didn't solve our issues, or they quoted us a huge sum of money to replace our entire roof. This past week, we had extremely heavy rains and saw water dripping from a can light in an area that a previous company was supposed to have fixed. I put out a request on Yelp and skyline was among the first to respond. Frank called and offered to come immediately to take a look, even though it was quite late. They identified the area that needed remediation and quoted a fair price to fix it, plus the rest of the trouble spots on my roof. I knew we had more rain coming in a few days, so the job had to be completed quickly. The next morning, Frank's crew showed up and quickly made progress, but they also noticed something that no other roofing company had - they opened up the roof to find structural issues where 2 skylights had not been installed properly, and rafters were cracked. This explained why previous spot fixes hadn't resolved the issue. Again, Frank quoted a fair price to resolve this structural issue. They proceeded and did the work quickly, in time to finish before the next waves of rain came, including even cutting back a branch that was risking damaging a section of the roof. They provided before / during / after photos. The roof looks excellent, solving the one major issue, as well as doing maintenance work on many other areas of the roof that now look brand new. Throughout my experience, the one thing that stood out more than anything was Frank's responsiveness and communication. He was incredibly fast and responsive, took the time to answer all of my questions and helped me think through my repair options, and was available and responsive constantly throughout the job and at all hours of the day and night. I can't thank Frank and skyline roofing enough for their help. They'll be the first company I call the next time we need help with our roof and gutters!

The entire month of July, I have been trying to work with the service team to get repairs made to my roof due to all the storms that have happened in the Chicago area. They came out and did an emergency typing for me no problems however I was told that I would have a handheld service to help me navigate the claims process with my insurance company. That was a lie. I have now been calling Nomback Homes the entire month of July and gotten no assistance. I have left multiple messages and gotten no follow up phone call. At this point, I would not recommend anyone doing any business with Nomback Homes since customer follow up does not seem to be a priority.

I can happily say that our new roof (and more) has done exceptionally well. We contracted Euclid Roofing and Siding back in September of 2023. They had a large number of jobs of ahead of us so it took them a little bit to get out to our house. This was not an issue really, we expected this and had planned for it. While speaking with them and discussing other jobs we needed done we went all in. Roof, new insulation, siding, windows, and new rain gutters with leaf guards. We were not persuaded to do all of this, these were jobs we already needed done. Euclid merely provided us the best price and ease to get it all done in one easy sweep. Everything came together fantastically. We have noticed cheaper heating and cooling bills (due to new roof and siding) and the house is much more comfortable. We have even been setting our thermostat lower in the winter because the house holds on to the heat much better. My only regret is that we didn't do all of this much sooner. Our new siding is a vast improvement over the old and really made our place look much nicer. Euclid was friendly, efficient, and did a great job. They worked around my wife's extensive garden, and not a single plant was harmed. Highly recommended.
