I have now been to Cesar's three times. As a vegetarian, I'm always looking for a place that will serve something tasty while I stick to my food plan. This restaurant not only has some plant based dishes, but can modify some of their other recipes. I tried the spinach and mushroom enchilada today - quite good. My favorite is the taco salad. It comes with either beef or chicken but when I said no meat they gladly accommodated me. It is absolutely delicious. I understand this is a family business, run by three brothers. The staff is friendly, courteous, and willing to help. The ambiance is great and the prices are excellent. If I searched for something to complain about, it would only be that the music is too loud. read more

Four and one half star rating is inflated. Not to be unkind. This restaurant is representative of 90 % of new Mexican restaurants opening in the Collin county area. The decor is Spartan and cold. The space feels disjointed and uncomfortable. The service is great and the food passable but I can find no compelling reason to return. If you live close, this would be an ok place to grab a quick bite but, they need some work. Middle of the road at best. Oh, and the main reason they are getting three stars? Because I felt generous, Should be two if you are looking for an excellent meal. read more

The customer service was great starting at the door. The decor was simple but enough. My family and I were seated at and immediately received fresh salsa, bean dip, and hot chips. We placed our order and received our food in great timing. My choice was the chimichanga which is not pictured due to me eating it so quickly. Everything was seasoned and prepped well. Was in the mood for sushi pulled in and decided to check the reviews and I change my mind sooooooo fast. Since this restaurant is just down the road from my house I decided to go in and try their food. Just want to inform that it was the best decision I made Saturday evening!!!! The food was awesome and the michelada was even better. I added pictures of my foot and the drink, will be going back again and the server Lazaro was great. Ah-mazing. So mad for not having tried this place since they opened. Went tonight for the first time. FRESH, thin chips came out with salsa and black bean dip. We ordered Queso blanco. It was delish....not grainy or fake tasting. Or too spicy. Very good. I had chicken fajitas and the amount of veggies was great. It seemed to be a full size chicken breast- not overly oily. Hubs had enchiladas tex mex and cleaned his plate/platter. Portions were huge. Rice and beans were SO good. Sometimes you get way too many flavors that overpower and these were both just right. Kids both got the ground beef burrito (soft taco covered in Queso) kids meals and for $7 it was enough for me to feed myself next time. Overall, service was great. TVs had the Alabama/Tenn game and the beer was cold. From the outside, don't be fooled because the food is authentic and delicious. Not a "one and done" spot. I really hope this place makes it!! Wow.... I cannot believe how many times I have driven past this place and not thought twice to stop. Shame on me. I decided to take my girls to lunch here yesterday and they wanted chips and salsa! So I quickly looked up a Mexican restaurant near me and looked at the menu for white cheese dip. So back track; we're from southern Louisiana and all of our Mexican style restaurants offer a white queso not yellow, so since moving to Texas it's been most disappointing because most places here only have the yellow queso and quite frankly they all taste like canned yellow nacho cheese sauce. So seeing that this place offered both white and yellow cheese dip and was only ten minutes from where I was from; we chose this place. I'm so glad we did! It's in a small little strip mall; as soon as we walked in we were kindly greeted and sat down. I was super shocked not to see any customers in the place, especially being lunch time. Our waiter was super nice; all the food we ordered came out nice and hot and fast. My girls were double happy because they had the white queso and gave the black bean dip like Gloria's. They both split a kids quesadilla meal along with their dips. I ordered the steak fajita nachos to try (half order) and the garlic shrimp entree that came with an avocado salad and vegetables. Both were amazing and super filling! The garlic shrimp was just amazingly prepared; almost like it should be at a fancier style restaurant. We also ordered dessert, flan, it was the best I've had in Texas thus far. This place is definitely a hidden little gem and from now on if someone wants Mexican; we're going here. read more

First time at Cesar's - went with a friend. The food is over the top amazing! We got the guacamole appetizer which was made specifically to our specifications. Truly delicious. Then we had the fajitas combo, chicken and steak. This, too, was delicious. Our waiter was one of the young men running the restaurant and he was so kind and patient with us. Food was good. Service was good. The chips and salsa with a bean dip to start were great. I ordered the chilaquiles. I was taken aback that the eggs were scrambled usually they are over easy so you can cut into the runny yolk. I asked server if they are meant to be like that he said yes, I now know to ask next time for the over easy egg. Over all they did still have great taste. We asked Cesar to cater our pre-eclipse party based on our dining experience. Everyone in the restaurant is so friendly and welcoming but the food is the reason we go back. He catered for 40+ people including various dietary needs. He was on time and there was way more than enough food. The price was very reasonable and he just couldn't have been nicer. I had carne asada, and it was really buttery or greasy. It came with a cheese enchilada, rice, and beans. It was okay. The nachoas are the individual ones and kind of basic. There were just a few people there. The service is a bit slow. I asked and pounted at the Happy Hour margarita on the menu, but when we tabbed out, she charged me for a larger one & made excises for why she did it. She was not very helpful, and I asked to talk to the manager, who was also not helpful. I can see where the attitude cane from the waitress. She did finally take off the extra fee. I told her to chip my credit card, but she just grabbed it and did touch pay, which I didn't want. The manager said no one asked to chip a card, but i did. I'll be monitoring it to see what the charges actually are. It was suspicious to me. I'm not going back. What started put as a fun time with my adult son just didn't really leave me feeling like it was enough to come back. I'd had their tortilla soup in the past, and it was good. Basic ambiance with old booths, but they have a wall in the front to take a picture. They do have neat pottery type glasses for their drinks. There are much better places to go to, sorry to say. I like their decor! The chips and salsa / bean dips are very good. The wait staff are fast and efficient. The staff cleans the table then wipes it down to make sure it is sanitized. They wipe down the menu too between uses. The Enchiladas we got were very good with plenty of filling. Their sour cream sauce was perfect. My brother liked his tamale. He said it had a good flavor and was nicely filled. We both thought the rice was a little bit bland. The refried beans had a good flavor but were too thin and hard to eat with a fork. This place is all the hype. The service is great. Server was super friendly and made us feel like old friends. The drinks and yellow queso came out in a flash. *Will try the white queso next time. I loved the spicy salsa and complimentary black bean dip. The salsa is made thin. The Thursday special is chili relleno..ground beef or chicken. I went with ground beef skeptically. I would normally get steak, but took the risk. Was not disappointed. The rellano was tender and had a great crunch, just like a well made pepper should be. The ground beef is packed with flavor and encased in cheddar cheese making a chewy satisfying bite against the crunch of the relleno. Then its smothered in queso, which is great for me since I detest ranchero sauce. The refried beans were also excellent, which speaks volumes to the care and thought that Cesar's put into delivering amazing food. I haven't even gotten to the best part. The cost. I've eaten at many a Mexican restaurants and the meal cost here is less than the average. read more

There was nothing redeeming about this place, unfortunately. Our server was not nice or friendly or helpful. I got the taco salad and was so excited, that I snapped this picture and then dug in when I noticed a pubic hair in the sour cream. That was just so unnerving. The frozen margarita is not good. It's the type you usually get when you visit Minnesota or something. Nothing against Minnesota except they don't know a good margarita. None of the other food we got was very good either. There was a manager around but he wasn't surprised or apologetic about the pubic hair. It was just the most disappointing experience I've had at a restaurant. read more

This place is AMAZING. I'm 50 and have lived in TX my whole life. I've had Tex Mex/Mexican everywhere from five star restaurants in Dallas to street food in the Rio Grande Valley and everywhere in between and this place is now in my top 3 of all time. FRESH as HELL, every single ingredient was like it was just prepared the moment before. The corn tortillas in the enchiladas were literally the best I've ever had. Everything we tried was delicious!
