Took a break from Disneyland and wanted to eat Peruvian. Glad I came across this place! Food is excellent! Highly recommend this restaurant you won't be disappointed!

I love Ceviche 19! My peruvian boyfriend took me here to show me authentic peruvian food and it did not disappoint in the slightest! Seriously the best Peruvian food in Orange County without a doubt. The classic ceviche is so delicious and so worth the further drive for us. The lomo saltado always hits the spot--it's so so good and flavorful. We also got the churros with dulce de leche filling and they were so warm and yummy. Overall 10/10 experience here at Ceviche 19 everytime! I couldn't recommend it enough!

Best Peruvian in town IMO. Already been twice and Eli our server is one of the best. Ambiance is nice- small place - they are so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend their chaufa mixto. The Aji verde salsa is a bit too mayo'ey but the rest of the food- amazing !

Not my favorite Peruvian restaurant but I only come here because my uncle likes the ceviche here. Which it is good to. Well the one that he got this day. He said the other ones weren't as good as this one. What I didn't like.... That they brought out my uncle's ceviche first and we waiting awhile for my plate. That's my uncle's pet peeve. Not getting our food at the same time. I understand cold food comes out first. But they didn't have to bring it at once. They should've brought it all out together. The tallarín a la huancaina was spicy. No where on the menu did say it was spicy. I wouldn't have gotten it if it was. The server never came to ask if everything was OK after we got our dishes. He didn't ask if you needed anything. I had to ask him for a spoon. I had to ask him for the water. Overall service and food can be better. It's nothing to hype, it's not a place I will take people to eat from out of town. The chicha morada was soooo good that I loved. I wanted anticuchos and they didn't have any of the cows heart that day. What I did HATE was that they had a dog in the restaurant. I understand if it was a service dog, but this dog would not stop barking. It was so annoying. I was going to complain, but the owner of the dog left a couple minutes after.

Amazing food, ceviche was great. LOVED the anticuchos and chicha morada. Waitress was super sweet and attentive!! loved the music and the vibe in here :) would definitely recommend if you're in the area !!

Great spot for Peruvian food! Not too crowded on a Friday for dinner. They have some booths or regular table seating as well. For our appetizer, we got the Piqueo Fragata, a sampler of three different dishes--fish ceviche, arroz con mariscos, and chicharron de pescado. Perfect for me, since I like to try a little bit of everything. I really enjoyed the ceviche! It taste fresh, and the leche de tigre sauce it was in made it tart and refreshing. The Arroz con Mariscos was good too, it had shrimp and squid mixed in. The Chicharron de Pescado was a fried fish served with one piece of yucca. It wasn't that flavorful...I thought this one was just ok out of the three. We also got the Tallarin Verde for our entree. The pasta has a traditional Peruvian pesto, which is a striking green color! This also comes with a pretty large grilled chicken cutlet that appears to be pounded until thin. While the pasta wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting it to be, the sauce on the chicken was tasty and balanced out the flavor when you ate both together.

My husband's friend highly recommended this restaurant to us. He raved about its delicious food and generous portions, especially since he's Peruvian and knows authentic Peruvian cuisine. Keep in mind that the restaurant opens at 12 p.m. We arrived a few minutes before they opened, so we had to wait outside. There were two other families waiting outside as well. Once the restaurant opened, we were seated promptly. Although the restaurant is not large, it still has ample space and tables. Our waiter, Johan, brought over the menus, and we decided to share a few dishes. We started with the Lomo Saltado, a stir-fried steak dish with rice and fried potatoes. It was coated in a flavorful sauce made with soy sauce, onions, and tomatoes. The next plate we ordered was the chaufa de mariscos, a fried rice dish with a medley of seafood. As a side, we opted for sweet plantains. Everything tasted incredibly delicious! The flavors were bursting, and everything was freshly prepared. My kids enjoyed their fried chicken and fries as well.

This place is clean with a well-decorated interior. The staff is nice and very helpful. We ordered saltado mixto, tallarin huancaina/ verde with shrimp, and churros with lucuma ice cream for desssert. Saltado Mixto- You get stir-fried beef, chicken, and shrimp in a tasty soy based sauce with onions, tomatoes, and fries served over rice. The meat was tender and flavorful. The fries give the dish extra bulk and texture. Tallarin Huancaina/ Verde with Shrimp- This is a pasta dish with a cheese-based sauce with yellow peppers. It's a lovely blend of creamy with the mildest of kicks. Paired beautifully with shrimp. Absolutely delicious! Churros with Lucuma Ice Cream- A sweet way to end the meal! The lucuma ice cream was rich and custardy. It paired wonderfully with the hot, cinnamon sugar churros. Couldn't get enough of this one!

Come for the ceviche! It's excellent and a true 5 star experience. This ceviche is prepared Peruvian style, which is my all time favorite prep. The serving was very generous. The fish was very fresh and delicate, marinated in that amazing lime sauce with secret spices, and served with all the authentic side tidbits that make Peruvian so unique: hominy, sweet potato, pickled onions, cilantro, and my personal favorite, the Conchita (Peruvian popcorn). It's a very special dish beautifully prepared! Get it. But of course, the menu has much more than just that. So besides the ceviche, we convinced ourselves to give a few other dishes a try. Mixed results. I was surprised to find Grilled Octopus on the menu. What a temptation, but turns out, I could have taken it or left it. It arrived, sizzling, on a hot plate with lovely grilled, glazed vegetables. A beautiful presentation and I loved the caramelized veggies. But unfortunately, the octopus was not tender, rather chewy and under seasoned. I have had better. I would give this a Pass. The Lomo Saltado was not one of our favorites either, but not without appreciating the excellent quality of the meat. Very tender, cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, it was the French fried potatoes. They were not crispy and missing the amazing flavor we have been accustomed to, of a good frying oil. They were just soggy, and the saltado gravy was lacking something that is usually rich and complex. But there is one more dish I had decided to try, based on several other reviews, that turned out to be delicious. The fried fish. These were small nuggets of wonderfully tender, moist fish, lightly breaded then quickly fried in a good oil. The final touch was the pickled onions on top. Delicious, very memorable, and one I will definitely return for. It really doesn't need the creamy tartar sauce, but a small cup of it comes with the dish. This was actually a fun, unique adventure. Historically, Peruvian cuisine has been heavily influenced by the Chinese and Spanish in many forms, so makes for a interesting meal regardless of what you choose. I would return.

The ceviche here is always the way to go. Beautiful flavor and texture combinations that doesn't have you walking away with that heavy, after-meal feeling. The employees are always nice & attentive and the desserts and drinks are also wonderful. I will have to say though their meat items & starchy dishes aren't their specialty. They tend to use chewier pieces of meat which can be dissatisfying to eat and their pastas/rice dishes tend to always be missing something. A lack of flavor that leaves you a little unsatiated. Always come here when I'm feeling like having a piquant (i know sounds pretentious but it's a great descriptor of the flavor) and fresh dish. read more

I'm extremely sad to give them a low rating because the food is AMAZING! But the service continues to go down and yesterday was awful. We got sat down within a few minutes, we waited on an empty table with no menus for 10 minutes, then when our server came he just gave us the menus and walked away. When he came back to take our order it took him another 10 minutes to bring our drinks out. So we sat at our table for 20 minutes with no drinks. We sat there staring at him so he would get the hint that we were ready and he did look back at us a few times but never returned. He sat 10 minutes talking to a table just hanging out with them. He was not getting new order. He was just talking to them. Once we finally got our food, he never came back to check to see if our food was OK. I had to track him down to get a refill for drinks and order some aji. We went on a Saturday around 3 o'clock, so the place was pretty empty. There was three servers no excuse to receive this kind of service. The guy that helped us looked like he did not want to be there. Unfortunately, at this point, I cannot recommend this place to family and friends because I do not want to send them somewhere that the service is going to be awful even though the food was amazing. I hope the managers see this review and speak to their staff, I was a server for several years and this experience was definitely not something a customer would rave about. read more

I had the Ceviche Clásico and it was delicious, flavorful and generously sized. For being in a strip mall it has a tasteful interior and small list of Peruvian beer and wine options. The menu is quite varied and makes me want to come back and explore further! read more

This is a family owned Buisness. It's a bit of a random place, however, on the inside the place is very nice. I like going to this place during the week day because they have lunch special. Their soup is very flavorful. Their ceviche is also very good. Going there was the first time I had big chunks of fish that was so fresh, it tastes better than sushi. Highly recommend :) read more

Had an amazing experience at Ceviche 19! Our server was Freddy, he was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the Saltado Mixto and the tallarines verdes. We don't know much about Peruvian food but Freddy was able to walk us through the menu and help pick out what to order. We really enjoyed our food and are glad this restaurant is close by! Good Peruvian ceviche. You are given the option on the heat level. Dishes are presented nicely. It all taste good. The only item I found to be average at best was the arroz con mariscos. This is probably one of the best ceviches I've had in my life. I cannot rave enough about it. The fish is fresh and the portions were generous. My husband got the tallarín a la huancaina...and that was just magical! The chicha was so good and didn't feel like the instant powdery stuff, I really appreciated that. Their causa de pollo was also so friggn good, la cancha and chifles were such a delicious touch and they were also well prepared. Officially one of my favorite Peruvian spots, and as an actual Peruvian, it get my seal of approval. Lol. Can't wait to stop by and come again, so friggn delicious!!! Thank you again!!! read more

Been to this place a few times already, food is always great and the restaurant's ambience always makes me feel like i'm back home in Lima eating my favorite food. Ceviche merk do is soooo good. As a Chef No My daughter ordered ají de Gallina It was literally grey not freshly made Over expired with a horrible smell I immediately told her to be careful to make sure it wasn't bad I was right Lomo saltado It would be nice if they use a different cut of meat The one they use it's too dry and though The flavor is there The onions were raw Picarones on point Ceviche on point Leche de tigre on point read more

Omg soooooooo freaking good! Please try it out!! Para mis peruanos or anybody!! Freddy was our server and omg super great service, was on top of refills and kept tabs on how we were throughout the entire time, made amazing recommendations and everything from the ceviche to the alfajores dessert was delicious!! 1000% recommend. I tried their ceviches: leche de Tigre, mixto and ceviche 19. They were all equally good yet different. Give them a try, ask the server which they recommend based on your preference. I will be going back for the ceviche. Also tried their chicharrón de pescado: make sure you order it!! The service was kind and knowledgeable, calm and family friendly ambience. read more

I also tried the Benevolent Fairy drink which comes in three seperate potion glasses and was so much fun. While it was a great drink, I preferred the Raven's Wing! Server David was very kind and very attentive, checking on us regularly to ensure a great experience. On our last day, we stopped in on our way to the airport so we had our luggage. We were immediately seated, and greeted by a server named Gloria. When she saw our bags, she thought we were just arriving, and gave a very detailed rundown of the cocktails and food. Horrible food. Raw and Salty seafood. Waiter ignored us for over 20 minutes. Prices as high if not higher than those of a high end restaurant for food that is worse than the tacos you can get for a dollar each from a taco truck in Santa Ana. Definitely the worst rip off in town .it appears that they have a way to get negative reviews removed from their site so as to boost their profits . I previously wrote a review and it was strangely removed . Maybe they pay yelp to remove their negative reviews so as to keep deceiving their new customers with how "great " they claim to be . Restaurant is dirty and the restrooms aren't any better. As pertains to the restaurants managers response, my previous review somehow got deleted which triggered the need for me to repost my review. As far as the "quality" of the food, goes there are other complaints up about the quality, uncleanliness of the very small restaurant in question and the rudeness of the waiters. I didn't go back. I only went on to repost my previous review as my review about this restaurant had somehow been deleted. I had a total of 3 reviews, and then I had just 2 reviews posted, which is why I reposted my review. The service as well is terrible as the waiter simply ignores you and keeps you waiting indefinitely. The seafood most definitely isn't fresh. The food was very bad and expensive as well. The waitress or server was very rude and inconsiderate . You would assume that at those prices they would have a waitress rather than a rude and inconsiderate server who expects to be tipped. The prices are in line with a high end restaurant but the deception starts there. Place was filthy and very, very small . The restroom smelled like urine because it had not been cleaned. There are reviews about how filthy and tiny this place is and how the manager lies outside of my review. I suspect that any good reviews come from friends of the people who work there. I will not be going back. It is a very tiny shopping center without even adequate parking in a small corner lot , meanwhile across the street you have Mc Donald's , Starbucks , Carl's Jr. , Seafood buffet ( which costs less than one of their lousy plates and it included crab legs , banks , 2 gyms , food for less, habitat for humanity , dollar tree , far better and less expensive restaurants with good waitresses. I don't know of this people have a way to remove their negative reviews but I am unable to find the review I posted over 2 days ago . The food they serve is undercooked , their ceviche is almost like eating stale bread crumbs , their lomo saltado is among one of their worst dishes . They waitress makes mistakes and a make one tries to give a phony apology . They are way overpriced . There is better food to be found at a street vendor in a city like Santa Ana . If I could give them 0 zeros I would . My coworker was disgusted . We paid over 50 dollars and were apparently charged for a "tip" that neither one of us agreed to . If this post gets somehow deleted then I will know that they have a way of deleting their negative reviews . They don't sell Peruvian or Latin American food anymore than Panda Express sells real Chinese food . The manager usually and strangely responds to "positive " reviews . Yesterday, my wife and I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. First, we had to wait in line for a long time just to be seated, which was frustrating. Once we were finally seated, it became clear that the restaurant was short-staffed. Unfortunately, the server who seated us ignored us completely after that, making us feel like we weren't even there. Despite liking the ceviche here, we decided to walk away because the service was so poor. It was a particularly upsetting experience for my wife, as I've always enjoyed coming here for the food. Muy muy mal servicio, decidimos ir mi familia y yo el fin de semana porque en realidad nos encanta la comida peruana, nada fuera de lo normal, la comida es decente pero no peculiar, tratamos los ceviches y el lomo saltado, en mi opinión es demasiada grasa para un solo plato, pero puede que sea solo yo. Los meseros estaban en su mundo, no ponen atención a sus mesas, yo entiendo cuando un restaurante está ocupado no da tiempo de mucho pero estar comiendo alrededor de tanta mesa sucia no es lo adecuado y a los meseros realmente no les importa, porque SI que tenían tiempo para levantar platos. No creo regresar a este lugar y es triste porque tenía expectativas altas, pero nimodo. Espero y traten de mejorar el servicio. read more

Went yesterday morning for breakfast and their pan con chicharron and the natural juice were SO good. Their prices are really good for the place, the place is very nice and has a modern vibe with some peruvian things on the walls. I will be going more often and can't wait to try the rest. This place is like a hidden gem. Outside looks very plain but inside is very clean and festive. The food is really good, but I think it's more on the pricier side. They have lunch special so I would take advantage of that. The staff is very nice too. read more
