This family run restaurant has a great atmosphere, casual but nice inside. The food was amazing! We had the ceviche with calamari, which was delicious. I've dined here and ordered takeout so many times, and Ceviche 19 has never let me down. From customer service to food quality, they have it all on lock! My go-to dish is generally the Ceviche Classico (fish) and then I'll order another entree like Pollo Saltado or Lomo Saltado. It's also a rite of passage to end every meal with an order of Alfajores (dulce de leches shortbread cookies). Their lunch special usually gets you a sweet appetizer, a choice from select entrees, and a drink. Pretty snazzy deal, if I do say so myself. This past visit, I ordered a pescado frito for my entree choice. It banged, of course. 10/10 would order again, but would recommend getting cilantro rice instead because the fish was only lightly seasoned. I've been supporting this restaurant since they first opened during the panny d and I'm so grateful they're still thriving. The flavor combinations are out of this world. With Asian flavors imparting so much influence on Peruvian cuisine, we also ended up getting Chaufa De Mariscos ($16.99); a seafood fried rice dish and Tallarin Saltado ($16.99); stir fried pasta. They use swai for the fish, which there was been questions about this "asian catfish" having very little omega 3 fat, and the effect of swai fish farms on the ecosystem is a major concern. One word: AUTHENTIC I'm from Peru but I live in the Bay Area where we have plenty of Peruvian food but I haven't come across authentic Peruvian food like this in a long time. The reviews are not kidding...the food here is so good and plentiful. My server was lovely though it seemed like he was the only server in a very busy restaurant. The ceviche was on point. Fresh with a kick-ass leche de tigre. The sweet potato needed a little bit more cooking time (but this was very minor). The chicha morada was very tasty and the tamal tasted so good. Parking is a lil sketch but so is the location. Inside is like an oasis of the sea. It has a nice touch, makes you feel like you're on the dock. Service was fast and the waiter was helpful giving suggestions. Now let's get to the good part, the food. We had to start off with their bread and butter, Ceviche 19. It's fish, chicharron pescado, peruvian corn and sweet potato marinated in the leche de tigre...to die for. Then we got the lomo saltado, and mixed chaufa. The lomo fushion (fried rice instead of white) was a hit, their beef is good quality, cooked medium, and it wasn't oily but rather full of flavor that will have you coming back for more. The mixed chaufa is straight forward, fried rice with shrimp, beef and chicken. I might want to try the seafood chaufa next time to mix it up. read more

Needing to satisfy my aji de gallina craving, I searched Yelp for a local Peruvian restaurant with this offering and found Ceviche 19! Upon arrival, I was initially dismayed when I didn't see ahi de gallina on the menu, but I asked our server, who told me he needed to check with the staff to see if it was still available to be prepared. To my pleasant surprise, I was told that they could make aji de gallina! Our meals were served promptly and I enjoyed my aji de gallina immensely! The only complaint might be from my wife, who commented on the size of the raw fish (swai) in her Ceviche 19: the fish was cut into largish chunks (at least larger than what she is used to). That said, my wife said the fish still had lots of flavor! We will have return to try the other ceviche dishes! read more

Came here for lunch with my coworkers , per one of their recommendations. At first view you enter a very nice and clean place. There was only a couple of people in the restaurant, it wasn't to busy. I ordered the chicken saltado and my friends ordered the lomo saltado and a ceviche mixto and a shrimp tallarin. All of our dishes looked delicious. My chicken saltado was ok as the chicken was undercooked. That was really disappointing, you don't want to cook raw chicken. So was some of the beef on the lomo saltado. You really need to cook your meats to the right temperature. Also when asked about giving us separate bills the host said she could do it, but when asked if she would she said NO. Something about having to send the orders to the kitchen and so she didn't do it. Our thing is why say it can be done and then tell your customers you won't do it. Maybe she didn't want to because she was the only one working at the time. Well I guess that is the last time we will be coming here. The friendly staff immediately invites you to an available table or booth and offers a welcome beverage to sip as you examine the extensive menu offerings. We ordered an appetizer of Anticuchos which consisted of slices of grilled beef heart marinated in a tasty sauce and served on skewers. It was very good. Today, i chose the traditional Saltado Mixto which arrived attractively plated containing grilled chunks of beef, chicken and jumbo shrimp on a bed of white rice drenched in a delicious sauce. This was quite tasty, although the chef chose to use unpeeled shrimp, something I rarely see in restaurants. My dining companion had Pescado A Lo Macho, a plate filled with jumbo shrimp (unpeeled again), calamari rings and fish drenched in a wonderful sauce. We shared a serving of tres leches cake which was a perfect rendering of this classic dessert. We will enjoy visiting Ceviche 19 again soon. read more
