I love Ceviche 19! My peruvian boyfriend took me here to show me authentic peruvian food and it did not disappoint in the slightest! Seriously the best Peruvian food in Orange County without a doubt. The classic ceviche is so delicious and so worth the further drive for us. The lomo saltado always hits the spot--it's so so good and flavorful. We also got the churros with dulce de leche filling and they were so warm and yummy. Overall 10/10 experience here at Ceviche 19 everytime! I couldn't recommend it enough!
Not my favorite Peruvian restaurant but I only come here because my uncle likes the ceviche here. Which it is good to. Well the one that he got this day. He said the other ones weren't as good as this one. What I didn't like.... That they brought out my uncle's ceviche first and we waiting awhile for my plate. That's my uncle's pet peeve. Not getting our food at the same time. I understand cold food comes out first. But they didn't have to bring it at once. They should've brought it all out together. The tallarín a la huancaina was spicy. No where on the menu did say it was spicy. I wouldn't have gotten it if it was. The server never came to ask if everything was OK after we got our dishes. He didn't ask if you needed anything. I had to ask him for a spoon. I had to ask him for the water. Overall service and food can be better. It's nothing to hype, it's not a place I will take people to eat from out of town. The chicha morada was soooo good that I loved. I wanted anticuchos and they didn't have any of the cows heart that day. What I did HATE was that they had a dog in the restaurant. I understand if it was a service dog, but this dog would not stop barking. It was so annoying. I was going to complain, but the owner of the dog left a couple minutes after.
Great spot for Peruvian food! Not too crowded on a Friday for dinner. They have some booths or regular table seating as well. For our appetizer, we got the Piqueo Fragata, a sampler of three different dishes--fish ceviche, arroz con mariscos, and chicharron de pescado. Perfect for me, since I like to try a little bit of everything. I really enjoyed the ceviche! It taste fresh, and the leche de tigre sauce it was in made it tart and refreshing. The Arroz con Mariscos was good too, it had shrimp and squid mixed in. The Chicharron de Pescado was a fried fish served with one piece of yucca. It wasn't that flavorful...I thought this one was just ok out of the three. We also got the Tallarin Verde for our entree. The pasta has a traditional Peruvian pesto, which is a striking green color! This also comes with a pretty large grilled chicken cutlet that appears to be pounded until thin. While the pasta wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting it to be, the sauce on the chicken was tasty and balanced out the flavor when you ate both together.
My husband's friend highly recommended this restaurant to us. He raved about its delicious food and generous portions, especially since he's Peruvian and knows authentic Peruvian cuisine. Keep in mind that the restaurant opens at 12 p.m. We arrived a few minutes before they opened, so we had to wait outside. There were two other families waiting outside as well. Once the restaurant opened, we were seated promptly. Although the restaurant is not large, it still has ample space and tables. Our waiter, Johan, brought over the menus, and we decided to share a few dishes. We started with the Lomo Saltado, a stir-fried steak dish with rice and fried potatoes. It was coated in a flavorful sauce made with soy sauce, onions, and tomatoes. The next plate we ordered was the chaufa de mariscos, a fried rice dish with a medley of seafood. As a side, we opted for sweet plantains. Everything tasted incredibly delicious! The flavors were bursting, and everything was freshly prepared. My kids enjoyed their fried chicken and fries as well.
This place is clean with a well-decorated interior. The staff is nice and very helpful. We ordered saltado mixto, tallarin huancaina/ verde with shrimp, and churros with lucuma ice cream for desssert. Saltado Mixto- You get stir-fried beef, chicken, and shrimp in a tasty soy based sauce with onions, tomatoes, and fries served over rice. The meat was tender and flavorful. The fries give the dish extra bulk and texture. Tallarin Huancaina/ Verde with Shrimp- This is a pasta dish with a cheese-based sauce with yellow peppers. It's a lovely blend of creamy with the mildest of kicks. Paired beautifully with shrimp. Absolutely delicious! Churros with Lucuma Ice Cream- A sweet way to end the meal! The lucuma ice cream was rich and custardy. It paired wonderfully with the hot, cinnamon sugar churros. Couldn't get enough of this one!
Come for the ceviche! It's excellent and a true 5 star experience. This ceviche is prepared Peruvian style, which is my all time favorite prep. The serving was very generous. The fish was very fresh and delicate, marinated in that amazing lime sauce with secret spices, and served with all the authentic side tidbits that make Peruvian so unique: hominy, sweet potato, pickled onions, cilantro, and my personal favorite, the Conchita (Peruvian popcorn). It's a very special dish beautifully prepared! Get it. But of course, the menu has much more than just that. So besides the ceviche, we convinced ourselves to give a few other dishes a try. Mixed results. I was surprised to find Grilled Octopus on the menu. What a temptation, but turns out, I could have taken it or left it. It arrived, sizzling, on a hot plate with lovely grilled, glazed vegetables. A beautiful presentation and I loved the caramelized veggies. But unfortunately, the octopus was not tender, rather chewy and under seasoned. I have had better. I would give this a Pass. The Lomo Saltado was not one of our favorites either, but not without appreciating the excellent quality of the meat. Very tender, cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, it was the French fried potatoes. They were not crispy and missing the amazing flavor we have been accustomed to, of a good frying oil. They were just soggy, and the saltado gravy was lacking something that is usually rich and complex. But there is one more dish I had decided to try, based on several other reviews, that turned out to be delicious. The fried fish. These were small nuggets of wonderfully tender, moist fish, lightly breaded then quickly fried in a good oil. The final touch was the pickled onions on top. Delicious, very memorable, and one I will definitely return for. It really doesn't need the creamy tartar sauce, but a small cup of it comes with the dish. This was actually a fun, unique adventure. Historically, Peruvian cuisine has been heavily influenced by the Chinese and Spanish in many forms, so makes for a interesting meal regardless of what you choose. I would return.
Came here for lunch with my coworkers , per one of their recommendations. At first view you enter a very nice and clean place. There was only a couple of people in the restaurant, it wasn't to busy. I ordered the chicken saltado and my friends ordered the lomo saltado and a ceviche mixto and a shrimp tallarin. All of our dishes looked delicious. My chicken saltado was ok as the chicken was undercooked. That was really disappointing, you don't want to cook raw chicken. So was some of the beef on the lomo saltado. You really need to cook your meats to the right temperature. Also when asked about giving us separate bills the host said she could do it, but when asked if she would she said NO. Something about having to send the orders to the kitchen and so she didn't do it. Our thing is why say it can be done and then tell your customers you won't do it. Maybe she didn't want to because she was the only one working at the time. Well I guess that is the last time we will be coming here. Which is too bad because I like Peruvian food and it's close to our place of work. read more

Wow!! This restaurant is really good!!! We are Peruvians living in the Bay Area - San Jose and we experienced different Peruvian restaurants around SF and SJ. We came to Anaheim because our plan is to enjoy Disneyland Park, I was searching around and found this place, it was great and food is DELICIOUS!! Service was excellent and very welcoming. We ordered Tallarines Verdes con Carne, Lomo Saltado, Anticuchos, Trío De Mariscos (includes fish ceviche, arroz con marisco and Chicharrón de pescado) it was DELICIOUS!! Ridher was our server and he did a great job for how busy it was for lunchtime on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant is very clean and they play great music. I'm a sucker for Peruvian food, especially ceviche. Wanted to try several dishes but didn't want the full order so we got the "to share" plates: piqueo fragata. It came with a good amount of ceviche, seafood rice and fried fish that was served with yucca. Loved it and will be coming back real soon to try the lomo saltado. read more

We needed some Peruvian eats ! Traveling from NJ /NY came across this restaurant in Anaheim and Wow! My family and I were so pleased with the food and attention . Food is truly delicious , tasteful , fresh and authentic for sure ! We had the anticuchos , ceviche de pescado con calamar frito , yuca a la huancaina and picarones ! Please have dessert ! Hidden gem. The Loma Saltado was delicious!! And the Vicky's Alfajores is amazing :p. I've always wanted to try Peruvian foods but could never find anything truly authentic until now. Everything tasted fresh. It's got that cultural taste as well in every bite (I'm not even from Peru, I'm korean!). The restaurant is also very quaint and cute. It's got a very coastal vibe to it. I can't wait to be able to dine in. The outdoor seating looks cozy as well (very limited space though.. I saw only three tables). My husband and I ordered our food to-go. It was ready within 15minutes and still hot when we got home 25 minutes later. I did order some plantains as well. However.. I wasn't a fan. I was craving them after having Brazilian food a couple years back, but this one just didn't fit my taste. I guess that was the only disappointment with this place. read more

So dissatisfied and disappointed it! Asked with French fries on the side and nope didn't get that! Ceviche didn't have a good flavor, fish was chewy that I couldn't even swallow fool pieces out of my mouth, plus I asked only fish and juice in my plate (they didn't donut the way I asked) seems like the kitchen doesn't pay attention or they just wanna do it their way! Service was ok! Gotta give high praise to Civiche 19 and our server Claudia. First time here, and it did not disappoint! We happened to be in the area for the night. I used my trusty Yelp app to research restaurants. This was a gem! The place is in a shopping / strip mall and yet has a great ambiance with cute decor. It's definitely popular with the locals too. In my experience Peruvian food is difficult to find, even in big cities, and especially of this quality. The staff handled how busy it was very well (it was a Friday and packed). There was a wait, yet they made sure everyone was accommodated as quickly as possible and they were very friendly. I'll be back anytime I'm town. Highly recommend! Causa sampler: Delicious combination of ingredients, sauces, and textures. The chicken was the favorite of the table, though the octopus was also fantastic. Pilsner (Peruvian beer): Really great flavor. Had an almost hint of honey to it. Great if you like light beers with flavor. Civiche / Piqueo Frigata: Great sampler of civiche and other dishes. Provides a yummy way to taste multiple Peruvian dishes at once. Civiche 19: One of our favorite dishes of the whole experience. Very fresh, large portion, and great combo of flavors. The sauce was out of this world, and the fried fish was one of the best I've had in years. read more

Good Peruvian food is so very f difficult to find in San Diego County. So when I come up North I like to check out new spots and see how they compare to what I'm use to when we visit family in Lima. Well this place didn't disappoint! It reminded me of my sister in laws favorite spot in Miraflores close to where she grew up. The restaurant itself is very quaint and cozy with a laid back atmosphere. The server was very attentive and gave us time to look over the menu and try to not over order. The food is phenomenal, the arroz con Mariscos was one of the best I've had outside of Peru! The causa was pulpo de olivo which I rarely ever see here anywhere and it was absolutely divine! The ceviche's leche de tiger was on point. Our only complaint was we'd rather pay a bit more for a better fish than swai in ceviche but it was still good! The picarones were not oily they were fried well and absolutely perfect. I will be back next time I'm out here, I REALLY love this place and I hope you venture here too! Peruvian food is the food you didn't know you'd love, give them a try! read more

This place is such a little gem! I really hope they survive these covid times.. I've only been here twice, and my Peruvian food cravings were definitely fulfilled each time. The first time , a female waitress didn't give us the best customer service so I'm docking a star. Yesterday, however, our waiter, Freddy really did his best! He kept his eye on us to check when his our drinks needed refills. He was super friendly, attentive, and, when I asked for extra green sauce, he went overboard on the extras to make us happy since my husband commented that I could drink that stuff. Lol! Freddy is awesome! Now the food itself is actually really flavorful. Their Peruvian green sauce is delicious with just the right amount of a spicy kick!! It's pretty comparable to the addictive sauce from Inka Mamas in Costa Mesa/Santa Ana by South Coast Plaza, which I also love! We started off with some Yuca a la Huancaina, which is pretty much fried jicama, and some fried plantains. Both came out at the same time & were delightful. Then for our main entrees, we ordered what I think was called the Tallarin Saltado , a pesto pasta spaghetti dish with their yummy stir fried beef, red onions, & tomatoes. My husband got the Lomo Fusion (stir fried lomo with fried rice) & topped it off with extra fried plantains & a fried egg. He was so happy with his choice & claimed it definitively hit the spot. We both left happy & too full to do anything after dinner as the portions are also a bang for your buck here. No, seriously... We had movie plans afterwards & totally canceled thanks to food coma. Lol This place feels like a tiny hole in the wall so I hope it stays around for awhile. If you get Freddy as your waiter , be sure to tip him nicely as he will definitely deserve it! read more
