I grew up eating cha ca (fish patty) from this place! Plus this is probably the best cha ca spot in the bay! I love adding the cha ca in noodle soups or I sautéed them with tomatoes to add over rice. I was in Palo Alto for a work meeting and before returning home, live 2 hrs away, I asked for the best egg rolls. Totally out of the way but worth it - very authentic. I ordered frozen eggrolls and fried it myself and took it to work. It was really good and still crunchy even after 4 hours later. Couple months later I ordered fried eggroll to bring to potluck at work and was very disappointed because it wasn't fresh and crunchy. It taste like they fried it in an old oil. Still the BEST egg rolls in the South Bay. To me it's still better than the newer trendier net style egg rolls. The filling here is the winner. However these need to be eaten freshly hot or right out of an air fryer if reheating. I find they're not that good if sitting out for sometime like at a party. I prefer Dakao egg rolls for parties since the crunch holds up well (although their filling is not as good). These are Vietnamese egg-rolls which typically have carrot, taro, and wood ear mushrooms as fillings. Chinese (ala King Eggroll) have cabbage and to me makes the egg rolls too wet and soggy (gross). Trust me when I say they're good on their own however if you want you can request sweet & sour sauce. This place made me realize that King Egg Roll does not live up to their name. The egg rolls here are so bomb you don't even need sweet and sour sauce with them. I was looking for a place around my house to do some catering for some holiday parties coming up. Found this place on yelp. First off, that parking lot is small. Since there weren't many pictures, I had to order my trays blindly hoping the food was good. Luckily it was. I ordered the following: Egg Rolls - repeat. Bomb.com Banh bot loc (clear shrimp and pork dumplings wrapped in banana leaf) - So good. As good as home made. I was worried because my mother always warned me not to buy these in the stores, but they were delicious and didn't even need the fish sauce. Goi Sua Tom Thit (Shrimp and Pork lotus salad) - Light and tangy. Comes with sliced shrimp and pork ear I believe. The lotus was a nice crunchy texture. Very well rounded salad. Mi Xao (Chow mein) - I like the fact that the noodles were thin. It made it easier to eat more, but it needed some more seasoning. I just added extra sriracha and it tasted fine. Com Chien Duong Chau (Special fried rice) - The rice was probably my least favorite dish. There was so much of it, but it lacked flavor as well. I did love how balanced the dish was with its meat and other ingredients. Equal parts of meat, rice, and veggies in every bite I am definitely going back here for my party needs from now on. I ordered a tray of banh bot loc for a work pot lock and it was pretty delicious. Everyone really enjoyed it and there was leftovers for people to take to go. You get a tray of 50 for a pretty reasonable price. It tasted just right for me that I didn't have to dip it with the fish sauce that it comes with. The insides was not salty and didn't leave me thirsty. I will definitely be back to order party trays in the future. The only thing I hate about it is having to find a place to park. We called in advance to place our egg roll order over the phone, and the gentleman who took our order was pleasant and efficient. The second time we called in to make an edit and confirm our pickup, a woman stressed cash only, which was okay but a bit off-putting. I guess this is typical with most delis. Nice and pleasant service is not the usual thing with most Vietnamese delis and restaurants. The deli is much smaller than we had anticipated. There were only a couple of options for carryout deli snacks, and this was on a Saturday morning around 9:30-10 am. Not a typical deli setup we found. Cash only. The eggrolls size were smaller than most places but nice and crispy and tightly wrapped. Sauce condiments were included with our order. The egg rolls tasted too sweet, in our opinion. The fresh rolls were nothing special. They did not stand out. The fish cakes were small and tasted overly fishy. We didn't care for them. The steamed clams/snail rolls were the best of the three. My go-to for Asian party trays! I love that they're able to accommodate last minute orders. I've ordered several items from here: crab soup, fried rice, chow mein, egg rolls, fried shrimp, and sticky rice and everything is pretty decent, not amazing, but doable for a party. Out of all the items I generally order, the egg rolls and fried shrimp seems to always be a hit! The location is at the end strip of Tully, across from the Eastridge mall, which can get a little hectic at times, small parking lot, but I've never had an issue finding parking. This review is solely for the eggrolls. This place is tucked in the smallest plaza on the corner of Quimby & Tully! AS GOOD AS IT GETS! Forget about that King Eggroll bs. When people tell me King Eggroll is good, I just roll my eyes way back into my brain. These eggrolls are ALWAYS crispy, full of meat, and NEVER disappoint. If there's ever a party, this is where I come to get my eggrolls, even if my mom makes a very similar, pretty bomb batch of these herself. If I'm casually craving these, I'll either run here or the Senter location to order 10-15 to last a day. Once you eat one, you can't stop.... Or maybe that's just me.
