Haven't been in Station for a few months. Normally I order my beverage from another store except the store closed so I was heading to Starbucks. Saw this store and decided to come here since this only has a few store locations. So many options so I took a few minutes to decide what to order. Fun matcha drink options at Moynihan station. I got the chai matcha, and it was sweet and delicious. My friend got the strawberry matcha which is a fun tricolor of red, white and green. The staff is quite young but friendly and decently fast for making matcha. It's busy as it is at the train station and there were quite a few people when I was there. Cha Cha Matcha is in the main area of the train hall. It was well-lit and very clean. You can also get coffee, smoothies, hot chocolate, etc... not just matcha. The side bar where you can add sugar or grab a napkin was organized, clean, and fully stocked, even at 4:30pm during the start of the commuting rush. The matcha was whisked with hot water at the counter right in front of you, not poured from some premade mix. The cost was high for an otherwise small cup size - $6 for a matcha and then they up-charged an additional $1 for adding almond milk, which came to $7.63 total. read more

As a Midwesterner, I'd only ever heard of Cha Cha Matcha, never visited, so I was glad to see one outside the Moynihan Food Hall before my train from NY to Philly. I was feeling kinda burned out and had no idea what to order, so I chose the purple drink and asked the barista to do the rest -- he recommended it iced, with a shot of matcha to balance out the sweetness of the ube. I took his recommendation, but went with two shots of matcha for some extra caffeine. It was, of course, picture-perfect beautiful, and it tasted nearly as good, though it was tough to combine, so I did get sone straight matcha that tasted like the ground (as matcha does, IMO). I'm not typically a matcha gal OR a lavender gal, but the ube cut both flavors nicely, and it was sweet but not overly so. Oat milk lent a creaminess that didn't overpower the drink. Would I order it again? Probably not. Was it worth it just to say I did, and to take a pretty picture? Always. read more

I came to Cha Cha Matcha after work to meet up with my friend and was surprised it was empty. This location is in Moynihan Hall, which is always bustling with commuters. Either way, my friend and I went there to grab some matcha and we both got the strawberry matcha. I thought the drink tasted great! The strawberry purée felt fresh and the matcha powder tasted like it was really good quality. I wish my drink just a touch more purée because the matcha flavor was a little overwhelming, but overall for a quality drink I felt like coming to this location was worth it. Damn, that's a good matcha. I tried the matcha chai latte because I find traditional matcha a bit too bitter. This totally hit the spot - the chai spice was a good complement to the matcha, which I wouldn't have really guessed. I love the simplistic style and decor and how the pink and green color scheme compliments each other! Love the decor and love the location on the corner of the Moynihan hall so I can always grab an ube purple or matcha drink before I hop on the Amtrak trip. The staff is so nice and helpful expensive the lemme drink which I will get next time if it's still there. Everything looks environmental and recycled friendly, from sugar syrup glass bottles on the napkin counter with plastic-free straws. I usually get the blue drink but it wasn't on the menu. I'm not sure if they got rid of it or if it was because it was a smaller store vs the one in flatiron.
