For the repair of an Everlane pair of leather boots I purchased in 2021, it was $60 for the replacement of the heel and the replacement of the sole (it was so torn up) with a waterproof new sole. I was expecting the sole to look better but not perfect, and for the waterproof sole to look rubbery or more bulky, which I was totally okay with. Instead, the shoes came back looking STUNNING. Not only did the entire shoe look brand new (he shined and cleaned them for me, even though that was not technically included in what I paid for), but the soles were so fancy! The waterproof sole was so well done, it fit in with the look of the shoe so well, and they have been working perfectly (sturdy and in fact, waterproof). I also brought with me a pair of knee high boots that I thrifted-- the soles were entirely ripped off and the bottom of the shoes looked like an absolute mess. He replaced the soles and they looked perfect and I've been wearing them non-stop! Overall, I am really pleased with service, and the shop owner was really friendly and helpful as well. I was referred here by my tailor for repair of a small strap handle on an old purse that belonged to my grandmother. They assessed the bag, told me it'd be ready tomorrow and that it'd be $12 which was shockingly cheap compared to what I expected as this bag was small and delicate and hard to get into the seams of. It was ready the next day and looked brand new. The handle was reinforced, and the bag itself was still in great condition. If you have any type of smaller bag that needs repairs I would definitely take it here. Can't speak specifically to the quality of the shoe repair here but if its anything like what they did for my bag then I'd say you're in good hands!

When I reached the door and peered inside, I saw someone behind the counter slumped over, holding their head in their hands. There was a part of me that just felt I should head back and find somewhere else to go but my hindsight is 20/20. As it turns out, he was just watching something on his phone (Yay?). So I fork over the $25 for a double heel replacement and drop off the shoes on a Tuesday and I was told that by Monday it would be done. Even that seemed a little odd seeing as only moments prior I walked in to him doing practically nothing and as far as I could tell he was the only employee there. Monday rolls around and I call, give him my ticket number and ask what the status of my boots are. I'm met with a, "Uhhhh, give me a moment" after a few minutes he asks me what the boots look like, a clear indication that he's completely forgotten about them altogether. I tell him and he goes, "Oh yes, of course. They'll be done tomorrow". I wasn't able to pick them up then but I came in on Wednesday. They looked fine so I took them and left. Fast forward a week and now it's the first day I'm wearing the boots because we got about 6 inches of snow. I go to shovel out in front of my house and dig my car out- maybe an hour tops, and the one heel completely falls off and the other one is already starting to come apart at the seams on the side. WTF?!? I go back to the shop and he tells me, "Oh, no, no, see it's the material on the sole of the shoe that's bad! My heel is good material, your sole is no good! I need to replace the whole thing, I'll do it for $70". Sorry, I know a scam when I see one. You honestly expect me to believe that a seasoned cobbler either.... A) Couldn't tell that simply replacing a heel on a pair of shoes would not fix my issue, B) Couldn't tell right off the bat that entire sole needed to be replaced, C) Didn't have the common sense to reach out and call to inform me of the poor state of the shoes/let me know that the entire sole would need to be replaced when going to fix the heel instead of charging me $25 for something you know isn't going to last or D) Genuinely did not know what the issue really was. None of these are good options but at least one would have be true. And the $70 is not the issue- I would have paid that for the sole replacement if that was in fact what I had originally been told needed to be replaced. It's the fact that I was first charged $25 which, more-likely-than-not, was charged to me knowing that it would not work and that a more expensive treatment would need to be utilized. For $100 I can just buy a new pair of boots. I should have gone with my initial gut instinct and not gone to this establishment in the first place so that's on me. I just want to warn others about this shyster so they don't make the same mistake I have.

So my gripe with this lady actually began nearly 1 month ago when I went to drop off my black leather boots. She told me she'd do a perfect amazing job and charged me $70 which I thought was overpriced AF but I was willing to make the investment as my boots are genuine leather etc. She told me it will take a week. COOL that's fine. A week goes by and its radio silent. 2 weeks go by. Still quiet. Then I make the mistake of reading the reviews where it said she doesn't answer the phone. I call this place no joke 45 times, not one answer. So now I have to take time out of my day to pass by TO SEE if theyre ready. So I go and OFC they're not ready. I demand my shoes back because now she has pissed me off. However, she is kinda apologetic and she promises it will be ready by Sunday and if not Sunday DEFF by Monday. I tell her I get out of work late and by the time I get to her it will be around 6:30 PM Monday. She says I'm here til 11 PM every day no problem! She takes down my number. Sunday rolls around and OFC she does not keep her word. No call. Monday comes around , nothing. So I drive by on monday and the establishment is CLOSED! CUTE! Tuesday no word. I now have to take time out of my day to physically pass by and see if they are ready as if I don't have a job and other responsibilities. Now Wednesday is when s*** hits the fan. I pass by wednesday and she says to me "black boots right?" Great, it seems as if she knows what she's talking about and I anticipate everything going smoothly. She proceeds to hand me a plastic bag with a size 8.5 black boot that are very obviously not mine and the brand is ZARA. (I am a size 7 and no shade why would I bring ZARA boots to the shoe repair?). I kindly tell her that these are not my shoes. Bc theyre very obviously not. Instead of saying let me look into this or having any sort of normal reaction she begins SCREAMING at me. Like actually raising her voice, fingers in my face saying things along the lines of these are the only black boots i have in the store, these are YOUR shoes, this is not my problem, you are a liar etc. I tell her to lower her voice and request that we speak like adults. I soon find out she is incapable of this request. I tell her I am not paying for shoes that are not mine and this really sets her off. She then tries to tell me that I am a thief, cheap, this was my master plan all along, tries to make it about her having an accent (?) and that God is always watching and to give the money I'm stealing from her to a homeless man (??) and tells me to take my shoes and leave. After screaming at each other back and forth for nearly 10 mins while customers are onlooking, She is successful in gaslighting me bc I actually leave with the shoes. However, I quickly turn around and return to the store because these are simply not my shoes. This time, I try a new approach because at the end of the day I just want my shoes. I say look I am not trying to fight but where are my shoes? These shoes are 2 sizes too big and I just don't have any use for them? Since she has no emotional regulation , she begins screaming at me again saying that this is NOT her problem and demands that I leave. At this point I am so beyond annoyed and frustrated. I call my dad bc I simply never been in a situation like this before and he can hear her screaming at me through the phone and is even like WTF. So I said MISS THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM. And called the police which I truthfully really did not want to do but I had no choice. I began describing her features to the operator on the line.and they said police will be dispatched. She then collects her sharp items (?) a goes to get a coffee (?????) Odd. She returns though, and I have now been waiting outside her store for 20 mins waiting for police arrival.Mind you I have somewhere to be in an hour. As I am waiting, she VERY politely invites me inside. I knew something was fishy. She then says she "does not want to argue with me" and she "wants to talk like adults"- the very same line I used on her 45 mins ago! Being new to the neighborhood and recently breaking a pair of Tods leather boot heels that were not…read moreonly expensive, they also held a lot of sentimental values to me-- I researched all the shoe repair shops on yelp and decided to reach to out Tony (owner) to help with the repair. He was a very kind soul and responsive to all of my concerns while online; when I dropped him off the shoes the next morning, he assured that the repairs will be done right and I wouldn't notice that the heels were ever broken before. A couple of days, I pick up the shoes and Tony was right! I even waited a couple of days afterwards to write this review, so that I can test out the "walkability" of the repairs... everything was just right on, if not better than the original manufacturer. We live in a society where when something is broken, we throw away and replace . However, there are something's that hold good memories and too precious to discard. Now i am not going to just give this a great review because the guy is my uncle but he does a great…read morejob. when i was younger he would take me on Saturdays and my job was to dust all the shoes in the stores and sweep... over the years he has dyed, repaired, fixed my jackets, shoes, bags etc.... whenever i am not sure i ask him first... He has been doing this work which he cares so passionately for, for 30+ years... he is a staple to the community around him... sometimes i wonder when i go by the shop how he gets everything done because he is always getting customers come in and out all day... but he gets it all done.. ill admit the first time anyone walks in here they will not know where to look first because he has a lot of "stuff" but he finds a use for it all.. The kitty cat he has in the shop is a sweet heart, she was born without a tail and is about 8/9 years old... he is fair when he gives you a price on the work he does.. because he usually REAL QUALITY materials... real leather, real rubber and it will last... so happy to call this guy my uncle!!

But still asked for payment. If you have been to this store you know that his hands are never clean due to him working which is granted but you CANNOT handle peoples things with dirty hands. OR you could start covering the customers items. When i said something about it he was like "oh that can come off" and started wiping it off but there was one particular black mark that wasn't rubbing off at all. when i asked him about the accommodations for the damage he said it was nothing he can do even though he was the one that damaged it. I cannot return the boot now due to its damage and he refused to accommodate me so i will be forced to go to small claims court.
