My friend and I had reservations at 3pm and were concerned about our road bikes. Overall- fantastic! Aesthetically it's so cute with the exposed brick and wood beams. Beautiful artistic pictures of Savannah on the walls. We first went to the bar because we were early for our reservation. This would probably be the worst of our experience just because the drinks were sub par and the service wasn't great. They made my drink with substitutions without letting me know ahead of time. Wouldn't normally care but being pregnant, there's certain things you can't have in a mocktail. This place used to be so good and last night we ate here and it was not good at all. I always loved going and having the meatballs and Caesar salad. Now, the meatballs are no longer on the menu and the Caesar salad was terrible. I used to think they had one of the best in the city but not anymore. The lettuce was old and mostly veins and the dressing was bland. The croutons were more like oyster crackers and they serve the salad in a deep fried cheese bowl. No more freshly shaved parmesan. My husband had a steak and it was cooked to his liking but the cut was not as good as in the past. It appears they are trimming back quality and are fine with the tourists doing a one and done thing. They're not looking for repeat customers. Too, the service was very bad. We always had to flag down our server as they never came to check on us. Dined here for an early Dinner on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was great, old historic building on the Riverfront. The service was very friendly and professional. The food was okay. The fried green tomatoes appetizer worth getting. The oysters on the 1/2 shell not local from Virginia, not cleaned and not shucked right. I had the Mahi encrusted with macadamia nuts it was good but I was looking for a local catch, unfortunately the local catch of the day was Cod from Alaska. We went early for drinks and appetizers. The drinks were good and the appetizers were outstanding. Calamari was slightly sweet and so tender underneath the crunchy fried exterior. The spinach and artichoke dip was delicious with the chips that were perfectly made (as in sturdy) for dipping in the thick, flavorful dip. And let me tell you about the shrimp cocktail! With gorgeous shrimp the size of tiny lobsters, they were so delicious when dipped in the not too sweet, not too tangy cocktail sauce! And the presentation was awesome, with smoke-like white clouds billowing up from underneath for several minutes! Very cool. And the drinks were mixed well and the perfect compliment to the food. We had a reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday night and I expected this place to be incredibly busy as it's right on the water. It wasn't too bad. We sat on the 2nd level and the table set up was a bit weird, the tables were positioned almost like diamonds, which makes it difficult for the person near the window to get up to use the restroom. The service was wonderful. Our server, Clifford, was attentive and listened to our many requests. He timed everything perfectly. The food was delicious. We had shrimp beignets, calamari, and shrimp cocktail for appetizers. The servings were plentiful, even for appetizers. The bread basket was alright. The bread was fresh but not warm. I ordered the prime rib and my husband ordered the salmon. Both delicious. The food is pricey...you'll spend a minimum of $30 a prison, but for special occasions or date nights, it's ok. The server messed up our orders and either did not know what came with the specials or the kitchen sent out the wrong sides with it. And it was all pricey to boot. The carbonara had very little flavor, steak was over cooked and then undercooked. Even cooked correctly there is no real flavor. $39 steak it was not! You can make a better filet at home. Service is slow even though our server was very nice. Do not waste your money here if you want good tasting food. For the price this was such a disappointment! Lastly, Lava cake was over cooked. Food: Ordered a tuna steak rare, it was served raw and cold in the middle. I have ordered tuna in hundreds of restaurants and never have been served a cold tuna steak or sent back food. This was the first. At a seafood restaurant too. I also ordered the tuna blackened and received it with some sort of sauce on it; this was water under the bridge compared to receiving a raw and cold steak. Also the tuna was not high quality - it was chewy and difficult to cut. For the price, I expect better quality fish. Also, if the definition of rare = raw, the wait staff needs to clarify this when ordering. The other two meals in the party were fine, but it was obvious the prime rib had been sitting a while as it was lukewarm (not hot). The standout dish was the pecan encrusted trout. Service: I don't like complaining about service when restaurants are chronically understaffed, but sitting at a bar table is not worth it. If you are at the bar, you'll have better service, but our waitress - in addition to making drinks for the bar and entire restaurant - didn't have the extra bandwidth to serve three tables. It was clear out food had been sitting by the time she was able to go and get it, resulting in warm food. Bottom line: there are better restaurants in Savannah. This is not worth the price - go elsewhere. read more

My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. We sorted off with the Roasted Beet Salad. It had super yummy candied pecans, blue cheese and a vinaigrette dressing. My family really enjoyed our meal experience at the Chart House. We were quickly seated on a Sunday evening despite arriving early. The host team was very welcoming, and our server was extremely attentive and engaging. The food and drinks are slightly on the pricier side, but not so much considering the restaurant's location and premium entrees. The ambiance is elegant yet approachable fine dining - it could be great for a fancy night out, but also welcoming to a family casually stopping in after a day of exploring the city. I ordered the herb crusted salmon with garlic mashed potatoes, and as someone who rarely orders seafood, I cleaned my plate down to the delicious butter sauce. My family was also happy with their tuna, salmon, and ahi entrees, although they all would have preferred my potatoes to their rice sides. At the end of our meal, our server brought out a delicious dessert in recognition of a milestone anniversary, and the GM Houston stopped by and chatted with us for a few minutes as well. This was our last night in Savannah and easily the best meal of our trip. We would definitely come back the next time we are in town. read more

We are in Savannah for our 25th anniversary and ate at the Chart House our first night. It was phenomenal! We shared the clam chowder-YUM!!! My husband had the filet and the ahi tuna and they were perfection but the star was the macadamia crusted Mahi with a peanut sauce and sticky rice. Out of this world! This is a two star restaurant at best with 5 star prices. I had a chopped salad that was drenched in dressing and a dry flavorless prime rib served with cold mashed potatoes . My wife had the coconut shrimp. We had 11 at our table and had a good time regardless of how laughable the food was. We sat on the 2nd floor just outside the kitchen so we could hear all the arguments between the expediter and serving staff. The food came out quickly for us, so that wasn't the issue. Service was so disappointing, I think the waiter had no idea what he was doing. We ordered appetizers which did not come before our meal was served. Yesterday's prime rib was reheated. Very poor flavor potatoes were cold chopped salad was over dressed and had poor quality lettuce never refilled glasses after asking one meal included dessert which was never brought out the staff just said ok we won't charge you for the soup they did not care offered no service recovery. I will start my review saying I had a very late reservation and then I got lost and I sat down after the restaurant closed, unfortunately I don't think that gives the right to have my food served cold and my husband over cooked and horrible service. The hostess was very nice and accommodating and I really appreciated that but once my husband and I sat down the rest of the evening went down hill very fast. The waiter was extremely pushy which I understand why but the table in front of us he was nothing but attentive and kept going up to them and asking if they needed anything ( this behavior only happened once he found out the husband of the guy in front of us was a manger of a five star restaurant near by) I guess he was trying to suck up to this guy. Because we didn't a fraction of the service he got. We didn't see much of the waiter once our food came he just asked us if we wanted refills of our wine which I would have been happy to have but I didn't want to tip anymore since the service was horrible and then we didn't see him until he gave us the bill and then processed to asked if we wanted anything else. read more

This place Presents itself like a 5 start dining experience, but comes up short in every aspect. The host staff seemed awkward, not very friendly, not something you would expect from someone greeting and seating. The server seemed new/inexperienced. Didn't know the menu, had to go back to the kitchen when asked about certain items and what sides we could get. It was my wife, (4) daughters and myself. When the kids drinks came out, we had asked if we could have them in kids cups as in plastic cups, lids and straws. The drinks all came out in glasses, She said she was unsure if they could do that; and then said she could only locate 2 of each and brought those out. Though inexperienced, she was very polite and good with the kids. Wait staff repeatedly walked into my children's chairs while they were eating, which was frustrating. As for the food, we received (2) chicken finger meals and (2) macaroni cheese meals for the kids which they enjoyed for the most part. One of their meals came out wrong, but my youngest didn't care either way. For an appetizer we received the burrata platter, which was mediocre. The bread was thin and burnt, but everything else about it was good. I ordered the teriyaki sirloin steak with island salsa and fingerling potatoes. The potatoes were incredibly plain, the steak was cooked appropriately (medium rare) but lacked a lot of flavor, salsa was bland as well. My wife ordered the strip steak with whipped potatoes. She really enjoyed her meal, steak prepared as asked, good flavor and the potatoes were excellent. All in all it wasn't an unpleasant experience, but with the pricing the way it is I definitely expected more out of the service and quality of food. I'd much prefer the olde pink house, or Vic's on the river if I'm in the area. read more
