This was my first time dining at this Ruth Chris location. We had gone there for a friend's birthday. The server, Ronney, was excellent, but the wait was incredibly long. When we finally received our drinks, they brought me an old-fashioned without craft ice. Our server Ronney did correct the drink, but we had to request craft ice. The food was average, and when it arrived, the lobster mac and cheese was cold. Atmosphere was laid back the noise level was great we were able to hold a conversation and actually hear each other. Me and my girlfriend came here to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. The service here was excellent . Its real nice and quiet so you can enjoy your meal with your significant other. Malik was my server and he was phenomenal. Everyone worrying that night, Onaje and manager Jamil included, were lovely. I ordered a tossed Caesar starter, the filet mignon with a side of mushrooms, and the chocolate sin cake. Everything was cooked and prepared beautifully. I usually like at least a dab of horseradish with my steak but it was cooked so well I didn't even want it. The mushrooms are decadent and large. The Caesar was tossed heavy (which I prefer) and had plenty of cheese and pepper. I was sat at a table on the bar area right away, even though it was a holiday night. This was my first time ever and it was a yerrible experience. They completely neglected our table and we had a party of 11. It took forever for them to seat us, while they said all 11 of us had ro be together. Once all 11 of us were together, it took them about 15 minutes to seat us. They left out several of the sides we ordered, and we ended up not receiving them. Our original waitress got an attitude and left us for no reason. It took 30 minutes to receive drinks, and almost another 30 minutes before they asked if we needed refills or anything. The steak was ok, but not great. The flavoring was very basic and simple. I have had much better steaks from way cheaper establishments such as, outback, longhorn, and o'charleys. This place is not worth the price that they are charging, and was a total let down. I expected more from such a prestigious establishment. I will not go back to another Ruth Chris steakhouse. This was my first and last time. I had a cowboy sirloin, which was not bad, just didn't have great flavor. Also, they brought out the food, and gave half the food to people at our table, and then we waited another 5 minutes or so before they gave everyone else their food, which was sitting right there. Dinner at the bar around 5:30 on a Saturday. No problem getting seated. It did fill up later. Standard RC bar with a number of TVs w/ college football. Been to many RC and you can always count on consistency. What you can not count on anymore is service and while it was not bad, it was not great either. Several examples; ordered $130 bottle of wine and we had to pour it ourselves, had to ask for bread (then the bread was removed and we asked for our bread back and the waiter gave us someone else's half-eaten bread!), no clearing of dishes, no questions about dessert. Just off. The steak was good, cooked correctly and priced well. So I guess they are still on my list of go-to places but maybe not this one. read more

This used to be a great steakhouse in Savannah. My wife surprised me for my 50th birthday along with 5 of our couple friends to a trip to Savannah. Ruth Chris was on my list for the night before my birthday. The staff is slow, unknowledgeable of how to take care of guests that are dropping over $100 a head and you can already see people are catching on. The restaurant was half full on Friday night. The special appetizer took an hour, the drinks were messed up, the steaks were not even close to being cooked the way we asked them. Unbelievably disappointing from a place that 7 years ago you couldn't get a reservation on Friday or Saturday night. Please save your money, completely overpriced, unprofessional, terrible service. I will never go back and my prediction this place will be out of business in the next 18 months. read more

Drinks: they have a great selection of custom cocktails. The drink menu is on an iPad which is fun! Food: the food is all amazing. They have some local dishes like the seafood gumbo. It was delicious!!! We also got the New York Strip, Chilean sea bass, Brussel sprouts, asparagus, potatoes au gratin and beef ravioli. The beef ravioli was probably our fave! Service: top notch. They greet you by your last name. The restaurant is fairly exclusive. You must make a reservation. If you don't have one you can only sit in the bar area - no walk ins allowed. Our server was new - literally his first night. He was good. Asked questions when he didn't know the answer. Atmosphere/vibe: we went for a birthday celebration and there were quite a few others doing the same. The place is fancy. Dress code is strictly enforced. The decor is gorgeous and upscale. We were in town for the St. Paddy's Day weekend, and we wanted a nice meal. The location is convenient when staying down by the river, but it's an older place, and the decor is dated. Their bread and butter and steakhouse salads were good, just like they should be. My girlfriend's filet was cooked as ordered (and delicious), but my ribeye was brought well-done rather than medium, as I requested. The primary server recognized it, apologized and took it away. They brought us plain (and bland) mashed potatoes as a consolation prize. (We didn't want potatoes that night, but at least bring the au gratin ones if you're saying, "I'm sorry." lol) My girlfriend had already finished her steak by the time my replacement arrived, and even though it was only slightly less than well done this time, I just said it was "better than the first one" and kept it. RC's prices have skyrocketed in the past few years, so it's more than frustrating that this steak house can't prepare a good steak. It was a disappointing meal. Restaurant experience is influenced by expectations. With any higher end steakhouse that is especially true, generally looking north of $100/ head kind of place. This did not meet some expectations. Had a party of 12 and really just a service lapse. Food was great, as expected. Servers were friendly and introduced the menu, chef specialties and upsell dishes like crab legs and waygu beef. But it was slow and uneven on delivery. First, tough to get a drink order to start. Then an exceedingly long time to bring wine, over 15-20 minutes. Shared 8 appetizers that did come fast but plates and serving dishes remained through dinner service, so lack of timely bussing. The first wave of entrees brought 4 of 12, then one additional at a time to completion. In my book, a restaurant of this caliber cannot do that. The best bussing came when at the end where the restaurant was largely empty and it felt huddled as chairs were bumped and bussers descended to clear the table. If you are wanting a classically good steak dinner, look no further than Ruth's Chris. They have steak down to a science - and it was delicious. The meats are a la carte and then you can pick your sides, which are large enough for 2-3 people to share. They also have a selection of "classic" dinners which include soup or salad, entree with 1 side, and dessert at set price. The meat comes out on 500 degree plates sizzling and sitting in the yummiest browned butter. The steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking as you would expect in a place like this. They were also well seasoned with no additional sauces or seasoning needed. The waitstaff was perfectly attentive. Our server, Deon, was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful as we perused the menu. Drinks were refilled quickly, and I swear one time she arrived with a new soda for my husband just as he was finishing one where she took the empty and set down the new one without skipping a beat. One tip- we looked online at reservations and it was showing no seating until 8:15. We walked over at 7 to see if we could find bar seating and the place was nearly empty! Not sure why the reservation system would show like this, but if you want seating, either call or stop in and likely could be accommodated. read more

We visited Ruth Chris Steak House and it's Savannah location on the eve of Valentines Day. We had initial high hopes especially when we first entered. Everyone was nice and the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. Servers seated us, they were nice, quick, and just overall the only good thing about this location. We ordered our items around 7:40PM and received our appetizer, Fried Calamari, thirty minutes later (cold, weird sweet and sour sauce, GF did not enjoy), and we brushed it off and tried to be polite by not complaining. This all changed after two hours of waiting only to receive the absolute pathetic excuse of an entree and sides. I ordered a New York Strip, while my girlfriend ordered an Norwegian Salmon. For sides, we received broccoli and au gratin potatoes. Let's start with the steak, it was alright, but not up to par for a $80 steak, let alone Ruth Chris Steakhouse. It was also very tough to cut with their pathetic excuse of a steak knife. It was essentially a serrated butter knife.... The salmon was a complete and utter abomination. It's plate was dirty with char marks, it was dry, it was surrounded by a pool of vegetable oil, and was not presented at all professionally. It also came out on a plate of a thousand of degrees which is not possible without reheating the food. Broccoli was hard and tasted rawer than the Winter Olympics are going to be. The au gratin potatoes were thickly cut, oily, and they used the cheapest cheese they can find at a Walmart Great Value section to microwave ontop of it. I didn't even bother eating it cause it smelled like a grandma's wet behind. Sorry grandma, I love you. Now let's talk about the managers. The server who was very nice brought out his high school gym teacher-fit manager who had a attitude and refused to look me in my eye and would only converse with my girlfriend. He refused to comp anything, ran away, and came back with another pathetic reseated and still oily salmon and when I spoke up, he got scared and ran away. He also gave me more attitude than a NJ House Wife. Mind you, we were being kind, we mentioned our prior experience in food & bev, and originally didn't want it comped until we were not only disrespected, but talked down upon. The next manager attempted to be kind, but you can tell deep down from the "We gotchu!" type of comments that he was trying to find some excuse to not comp our meals. I am honestly ashamed I even paid $90-111 for my steak in the first place and $14 for a tiny plate of broccoli I could make from a microwavable pack from Target down the street. You told us the sides would be shareable, they were not. If you are seeing this, I'd like an complete refund. It is completely unacceptable how we were treated.
