Even happier that they have stayed as down to earth and friendly as they continue to evolve as they were back in the days when they sold beer out of a garage. Great brewery in a fun town! The flights are a great deal at only 7 dollars and they have quite a few beers to choose from. We also ate dinner there. The chili was a good deal and very filling. The reason I gave it 4 stars was the burgers were 16 dollars and very small plus fries were extra. Overall though great service and a fun bar! Live music was a plus too! read more

My wife and I stopped at the brewery on our way up to Lenox mass for a fall weekend. We saw signs on the Taconic for the brewery so we decided to stop. It was great. We stopped for a couple of beers and burgers for lunch. The brewery is in a real neat old town. I had one of their IPAs and it was awesome. My wife first ordered one of their ciders. She didn't love it. Then she ordered the IPA which she loved. The burgers and fries were great. We will definitely be stopping here again when we come back to the Berkshires next year. read more

We always stop at local restaurants traveling off the beaten path in beautiful upstate NY. It's almost always the right decision - but not this time. We waited a long time for the menu and a long time for our food. They had a limited menu which would have been ok if they weren't out of key ingredients. We had a hot dog, specialty burger (without two of the five main ingredients), a veggie burger and between the three of us split a small plate of fries. To drink we had a cream soda, lemonade and a beer. With tip we paid $70. When I told the waitress it seemed a little high she stared at me vacantly, said nothing and walked away. Skip this one and try the other places in Chatham, which I bet are as nice as the cute town. read more

Happened upon this place while cruising around upstate. Read about it online and decided to check it out. It's a winner! As the previous reviews state, it's down an alley in an old industrial garage. There's no bar area, really, but they do let you sample what they have and pour growlers out back. The guys there were really nice and very helpful with giving recommendations. Most importantly, the beer is top knotch. They have a wonderful golden ale that is perfect on hot summer days, and their Porter is delicious. Full and bold without being overpowering. They're only open from 12-2 on Saturdays and by appointment, but they do have one of the best signs I've ever seen "In case of a growler emergency, call:..." And they actually have a number there! The guy said they definitely do get calls from people when their not there, pleading with them for a growler re-fill! (Ah, would that I lived closer!) The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because of the limited hours, and lack of an onsite pub. But the friendliness of the staff, the cool old town and (most of all) the beer make you forget pretty quick! The brew-master mentioned that you can usually find some of their offerings at Dive Bar in NYC, so I'll have to check that out. I will also certainly be going back up to re-fill my growlers as well! Awesome! I'd give it 5 stars if they had a merlot for me to enjoy with my veggie burger, the texture of the burger was that good, I forgot it wasn't beef. It was delicious. The balance of texture and flavors were clearly mixed with a level of care not typically afforded to a vegetarian option. The other members of my dining party all had hamburgers. I cannot eat a lot of beef but I did have to have a taste, WOW, delicious. If I had known how wonderful the beef was, I would have made an exception to have one too and eaten apples the rest of the month. French fries and even the ketchup was perfect, not too sweet, great texture, not too hot, just the right temperature. The beers and ale were all enjoyed by our group. Had it been a little warmer outside we would have enjoyed the patio. read more

Site seeing on a day trip and found this place for lunch. I had the fish and chips, very light and crispy with a good flavor. The French fries were awesome. My son had the macaroni and cheese, which I sampled and it was very good. Our friends got burgers and they were so big and they loved them. Our waitress was very efficient and we did not have to wait long at all. My only issue is that they don't have cocktail sauce for the fish and I hate tartar sauce. read more

Stopped in while staying at a B&B in nearby Hudon. After stopping at a local winery, we decided to taste some beer. The beer isn't too bad, but having the kitchen is a plus. The beer is halfway decent. But find it at restaurants and do not go to their godawful tasting room. The bartender is slow and unfriendly and pays nearly no attention to who is waiting for beer. Then there is the atmosphere. The music is so loud. I'm not at a concert or club. There's nothing wrong with music in the background but holy crap, at this place the blaring music is the main event! Even outside it's blaring. So then everyone has to communicate loudly with their companions and the vicious circle of noise grows. I'll find their beer nearby. Farmer's daughter was very good. But if you're looking for a decent place to hang out and talk with friends, skip this joint. Eat and drink somewhere else. But don't skip trying their beer where you do end up going. read more

I would love nothing more then to give Chatham brewery 5 stars because I love the beer, the people, and the atmosphere. I can't however because ever since Grazin took over the food truck the prices are obnoxious. $12 for a veggie burger without any sides. Had to spend 17$ total for the burger with fries. It used to be $8 for the burger with chips. The food is better now but come on guys. We're not all from the city with money to burn. I will always go back for the beer and to visit friends but I won't be eating. At least before they had pub pretzels for $5. Now those are gone. Please give something back to the locals and reduce the prices or at the very least make it so we don't have to order extras for things that should come with the meal. Keep up the great brewing however. The beer really is great! read more

I have been going to Chatham Brewing for a very long time. I find the staff very friendly. Your are always welcome. The amber is great, as with all the others beer. I use the stout in my chocolate cake, this brings the flavor of the cake to an all time great taste. Have one of the beers on the side to hit the spot for the end of dinner. read more

So under the radar that I've driven by literally a hundred times or more without noticing it, and kick myself for having missed years of growlerliciousness. I now adjust my Saturday errands around their hours of 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. They usually have kegs of 5-6 beers available for sampling, all of which are incredibly fresh. I'm a big fan of their IPA, which stands up against and beats any of my previous favorite IPAs (Dogfish 60, Lagunitas, Harpoon, Sierra Nevada Torpedo...). Go. Make a special trip if you have to. This place is awesome. We rented out a semi-private room for a bachelorette party of 22 girls. Chatham Brewery was one of the most accommodating establishments I've ever been to. Morgan and Tom worked with me for weeks on prepping the space, allowing us to bring in our own food, tailored tasting and private tour. Visited Friday night for our first time, very impressed! Quirky little place with good food, great beer and excellent service. Heads up by Yelp reviews on how the ordering process works, a definite plus. We used a Groupon for flights and free glasses. My husband and I each ordered a burger and I guess waiting an hour for two burgers would have been ok if we didn't have any other plans for the day but we did so we had to ask for it to go. We didn't get the catsup or tomatoes we ordered. The menu to pay only offered three options for tip so for the waitress to bring a tiny beer and take our order and us never seeing her again we had to pay $6. So if waiting an hour for two burgers, 1 beer and $41 is ok to you, then try it out but I'll never eat there again. As we walked out the waitress said, "I hope all was good". read more
