I recently tried the Thai coffee and Thai espresso after seeing this place blowing up on TikTok. Since it's known for being the original Thai tea spot, I came in with pretty high expectations, but unfortunately the drinks didn't quite live up to the hype for me. I asked for both drinks less sweet, but they still came out much sweeter than I prefer, and both tasted a bit watered down from the ice. Because the shop was pretty busy, my boyfriend and I didn't want to bother the staff to remake them. One thing I did enjoy about the place is the environment. They have board games available for guests, my boyfriend and I ended up playing Jenga while waiting for our drinks, which was fun. The space itself is open with a good amount of seating, making it a nice place to hang out. Parking can be a bit tough, though, since it's located right next to Asian Garden Mall (better known as Phước Lộc Thọ), which tends to get pretty crowded. Overall, I was a little disappointed with the drinks this time around, but we might give it another try on a weekday to see if the quality is different when it's less busy.
This was my first time coming here and I have seen this everywhere on my Instagram page. This place is located right next to Asian garden mall. I got a Thai tea with brown sugar boba. The Thai tea was refreshing, delicious, and great flavor. The boba was soft, chewy, and great texture. I would give this drink a 4.5/5 since this drink was interesting wish the Thai tea can be a little sweet. Their most popular drinks are their Thai tea and the green Thai tea. The service was fast & employee is very nice and friendly. Their parking is very limited, but they have their own small parking sign. They also have wifi. Their store has a great atmosphere, spacious, and clean. I would definitely come back to try their other drinks if I'm near Asian garden mall.
ChaTraMue is a boba shop chain that originated in Thailand and now has multiple locations in the Southern California area. This location is in Westminster near the Asian Garden Mall. There are only a few dedicated parking spots so it might be difficult to find parking here. This place is known for their red Thai iced tea (the classic that you know and love) but they also offer the green version. In fact, the green thai milk tea ($6.55) is my favorite and preferred drink here. I liked the taste of the sweetened condensed milk. Even though I don't usually do 100% sweetness I like the higher amount of sweetness for this drink. This was a place I really liked during my travels to Thailand and I'm glad there's a location closer to me in the country.
Goated thai tea. Everyone knows Chatramue is the OG thai tea. When we brew green Thai tea at home we only use their leaves. This location tastes just like the one in Thailand. My only issue is that on a Saturday night they were empty and there was only one employee. I feel that it's really unfair for management to only have one employee making drinks and taking orders on a weekend night. Aside from that, the store was clean and the drinks were yummy. There's even a merch area where you can buy tea leaves. Hopefully they get more business.
Came to ChaTra Mue OC on Thanksgiving afternoon as a quick pick me up to help boost our day but also saw this place as another boba joint to try out so why not take a visit since we're close by. Wasn't expecting it to be a cafe specializing in Thai Tea leaves but I did a bit of observing and I want to believe it's the same Thai tea leaves used in the Original Thai Tea glass bottles you can purchase at your local Asian grocery market; the orange-lookin' bottles, but I could be wrong, maybe it's not the same brand. There's a pretty wide variety of drinks from Tea drinks, Coffee and seasonal but onto the drinks we ordered! Thai Espresso I was debating whether to try just the Original Thai Tea drink as I'm a big fan since I was a child with that orange bottled Thai Tea that I mentioned but I wanted to be a bit daring and try out the Thai Espresso. From my own personal feedback, it felt like it was missing something. The blend wasn't quite all there but I can definitely taste more of the espresso rather than the Thai Tea leaves. I wouldn't mind giving it another chance but the next time we visit, I'll probably go with the Original Basic Thai Tea drink. Rose Milk Tea I didn't choose this drink but my girlfriend seemed to enjoy it for not only it's taste but health benefits. As quoted by her, the drink name and flavor holds up to it's taste and would probably order it again unless there's something else that catches her interest. Overall Came at a downtime so it wasn't busy which is a good thing as we had errands to run before Thanksgiving actually started. The only thing I would advise is the parking situation. It seems that they only have 3 or 4 dedicated parking spots for the cafe, the rest were assigned for the neighboring businesses. It's possible that there's more parking in the back or maybe even park at the Garden Mall. Interior is more on the brighter side of the spectrum, lots of white neutral colors. They have a dedicated section to their merchandise from cans of Thai Tea Leaves, Branded Tumblers, apparel and others. Lively tunes, they actually were playing a couple songs that I liked so that's pretty neat lol. Wouldn't mind visiting again if we're in the area. Next time I'll give the Original Thai Tea a shot!
green thai tea over regular thai tea ANYDAY My friend and I came to Chatramue after having dinner across the street and wauuu I'm so glad I tried it out :') I ordered our drinks both less sweet & it was perfect IMO. I wish they had the pandan boba available otherwise I would've tried it. I would def come back :)
Was excited to go with my family because I hyped up their Thai teas. Unfortunately, the actual tea taste fell a little short of what I've had before from their DTLA location. At 70% sweetness, I found the drinks still too sweet and less Thai tea forward. Our 4 drinks were ready at the same time within 10 minutes of ordering, which was very fast. This location has a good seating area, despite looking like a small location from the outside. Their pandan boba was unique and mild, complementing the green Thai teas well. I appreciate the authentic nature of this tea spot, but I do think their other location is better.
The place was packed because of the night market but the staff were so quick with making drinks and taking orders! I got the jasmine since it was late but it was so good! I wish that there was less ice because the flavor of the jasmine milk tea was so yummy. Definitely was worth trying! The decor inside was cute and the vibes were nice.
Got the honey rose tea at 70% sweetness. Still a bit too sweet for my liking, but the strong rose flavor pulls through. Love it! Lots of ice in my drink, but not an issue. Its a warm day and the drink will still taste good a little diluted and even out the sweetness. I like that their cups are reusable with lids. Will be using these at work til I'm ready to let it go.
I went this past Saturday around 2pm and it had a pretty constant flow of customers but my group of 4 was able to get a table! Drinks took about 5 minutes to come out. Table could've been more clean but nice inside overall. I got a vegan Jasmine milk tea with brown sugar boba. The server recommended that drink at 100% sweetness. The Jasmine flavor was good and fairly fragrant but it was nothing standout. The boba came out warm but it didn't stay fresh for too long and it was a little too sweet for me. They do put a fair amount of ice, which some people don't like but it was okay with me. Price is pretty standard for a boba drink nowadays. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again but also wouldn't be opposed if a friend wanted to try, and I'd try something different!
Okay my favorites flavored boba is officially Pandan Boba now. Not only I grew up and familiar with Pandan flavor and fragrance, I was surprised I would find Pandan Boba here! I had it with Thai tea latte with 70% sweetness. I think it's the perfect amount of sweet, and I won't have it differently when I come back, Andi can't wait to come back! The staff are nice and they made my drink pretty fast too. The store was empty when we came but has cute decorations. This is located next to Asian Garden Mall where there's always crowd like everyday. If I'm being nipicky, I hope they will make the Pandan flavor a bit stronger hehe.
Very excited to try the originators. Chatramue. Heard so much good things about them in Thailand. My friend is Thai. And been to Thailand recently. Said it's close. Very close to how they serve it in Thailand. Thai tea. Got it at 70 percent. Tasted excellent. Very balanced. Also got one of their peach teas. Didnt taste like syrup. Great refreshing drink Overall excellent experience. Drinks came out pretty quick. Great service. Great drinks staying true to who they are

I'll be honest, the location is awful. Terrible parking and too many people. That would be fine if everything else was okay. No, the service is one of the worst I've ever received. Bunch of teenagers with zero customer service training. They act like they don't want to be there and don't want to serve anyone. 30 minutes passed and my drinks never came out so I went up to see what was going on. Before I could say anything the kid putting the drinks out glares at me and says "this is not yours". Really puts me off and will not come back here ever again. Learn customer service and actually train your employees. Doesn't matter how good your product is if you don't know how to treat your customers. The two stars is for the Thai Tea lemonade. Stopped by and got some more drinks...still delish bad with nice & friendly staff. Parking can be rough since the parking lot is within 10 spaces. You can park at the mall and walk over. The place is clean, airy and well organized. read more
I don't usually get thai tea but a friend suggested this spot and naturally I had to get what they specialize in; let me just say it blew my mind. The original thai tea is so yummy and perfectly sweet. I definitely recommend checking this place out! It's next to so many other restaurants and dessert shops so it's very convenient to stop by. They also have a great variety of other options for those who aren't fans of thai tea, but their thai tea is definitely the star! read more

This is the best Thai Tea as it's Thailand's original brand. We tried the classic Thai Tea w/ boba, the drink itself was amazing but the boba was a little hard for my liking. The drinks are a little pricey considering that it does come with a lot of ice. The parking in this plaza can be little tricky as there are only a few spots. The store is clean, small, and neat. I liked this place! They specialize in Thai teas, and I've tried the Thai milk tea, Thai green milk tea, and the Thai lemon tea. I've never tried a drink like the Thai lemon tea, but I think that was my favorite. I also tried all the drinks at 30%, which was perfect for me. Would def come back! read more

I've never had such a well-balanced Thai tea. The perfect amount of creaminess, sweetness, and tea. The honey lemon peach ice tea was perfection. I can't wait to come back! Only downside is it's really hard to find parking. read more

Yummy! Strong Thai tea flavor with the perfect creaminess. I made no adjustments and it was good. The drinks came out in less than 5 minutes. Parking is super limited tho so we parked at the Asian garden mall and walked over. read more

I love, love, love Chatramue! Their thai tea is sooooo good. Just entering the shop, you're immersed in unbelievably decadent scents of the tea. Drink wise: Their thai tea has that authentic Chatramue hand brand thai mix taste. You have a choice between brown sugar boba and pandan boba. The brown sugar boba is medium sized and super chewy. Their cup is well built as well. No wonder why it's on the pricier side. Next time i would get 30% sweetness level. IMO the regular sweet is overwhelmingly sweet. Will try the pandan boba next time too! Chatramue is worth checking out if you're in the area. They have many choices in drinks, but this easily is the #1 spot for thai tea. read more

Parking really sucks! There's like 3 parking spots and you have to exit through the rear. Other than that, their Thai Tea is amazing! It's fresh and you could smell the fresh brew from the parking lot. There's also a slight vanilla ice cream taste in the Thai tea, which I'm not sure if it's the condense milk or not. The Thai green milk tea is delicious too! I recommend to get both lol. Everyone was so nice and the place is clean! We didn't get any boba because they ran out but we will definitely be coming back to try their brown sugar boba topping. read more
Came for a quick drink after being in the ao dai place next door. Whenever I visited a crazy line on the weekend so I took this opportunity to finally try it. Standard menu overall, but they have pandan boba as their default. Their sugar options go from 120,100,70,30 and 0. The BEST Thai tea I've ever had!! My family and I drove from San Diego down to OC to try this place!! We are so very happy to have tried this place!! It's so good! We bought 2 thai tea, coffee with boba, and green Thai tea with pandan boba. I'm writing this as I regret not getting boba. The pandan boba is so good!! You can taste the pandan and it goes very well with the green Thai tea. The regular boba is also very chewy and taste amazing! The best boba I've ever had. I don't like boba and usually don't like them with my drink, but this boba changed my mind. I'm also regretting not getting the bucket of tea, lol. But we bought 2 boxes of tea leaves and a cup. Great drink menus! Service is amazing!! The owner helped us and she was very hospitable. She is very patient and answer our questions. The crews work fast to get our drinks out and we appreciate it! The place has a couple of seating indoor but it is small and parking is a little tight. We parked at the Asian Garden Mall. If you love Thai tea, this is a must try!! I have been wanting to try this chain and was very excited to hear that they finally have a location in OC. Ambience (7/10): Located in a very small plaza with hardly any parking. We had to park on the street and the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. The shop itself is cute and they have many cute merch. It is more of a grab and go place, so very limited table. Drinks: Thai Tea (6/10): My partner order the Thai Tea with full sweetness and he did not like it. The tea was strong as he said it tasted different to the thai tea that he used too (a little bitter). It is also very sweet. Thai green Tea (8/10): I did 30% sugar and I actually like my drink! It was very creamy, milky, you can taste the condense milk well. It actually among the best Thai Tea I had. Service (8/10): Nice staff. Price (7/10): It is a bit on the pricier side for thai milk tea. After the drinks, both me and my partner felt a bit uneasy, it might be because the tea was strong. Personally I would not go back because of the location. read more
Quite a sweet treat! I didn't mind the extra ice that everyone's complaining about to be honest, but I could've used less sweet. I initially opted for less sweet, but the girl mentioned that the drink would change in flavor and it wouldn't be as creamy. With that being said, since it was my first time having chatramue, I went for the standard 100% sweetness! However, it was beyond sweet! The Thai tea flavor was very good, but the boba likely made the drink even sweeter!!! Opting for less sweet next time for sure, especially if adding boba. read more
Not my cup of tea. I was so excited to finally try the thai iced tea from here after seeing it on my IG feed. I came at a good time after lunch and there weren't any wait or lines. I placed my order and the drink was ready within minutes. I picked it up and took my first disappointing sip. I was expecting a strong tea flavor. It was just ok. I had better thai tea at thai restaurants. The tea flavor was so weak and all I tasted was cream. It's a nah for me! read more
I'm not sure why, but I couldn't quite taste Thai tea flavor in my drink even i tried it before, during, and after the ice melted. They said that it will taste better as the ice melts but it didn't get any better for me. I tasted the milky flavor and some notes of tea, but I couldn't pinpoint the Thai tea flavor. It was still nice to try, but I don't think I would come back here again. The after taste was bitter for me too. read more
The Orange Thai tea was really good but in all honesty I feel like it might be missing something like a stronger Thai tea flavor ? If that makes sense but the green Thai tea is so good and floral! I really appreciated the staff who helped us order they were very nice and helpful :) read more
i went back after 6 months and you can now adjust ice levels, but your drink won't come fully filled. the drink is expected to be concentrated so once the ice melts, it becomes a more balanced drink. unfortunately, this was not the case for the thai tea and i left disappointed again. i got the thai tea 30% sweet and the flavor was very light. i asked the workers to add more tea and my drink became very watered down, so i think the problem is how they steep their tea. they do have a flyer up explaining that they steep their teas differently so there may be a wait for your order. all in all, i don't see myself coming back after another disappointing visit. the only upside is the service and tasty boba. read more
i've been wanting to try ChaTruMue for so long & i'm so glad they opened a local one nearby!! the lines have been looking really long on tiktok, but i went at 5pm on a monday and there was no line at all!! these drinks are on the pricier side for a thai tea, but it's pretty average for typical drink shops nowadays the seasonal honey lemon peach tea was delicious, i'd recommend getting less sweet! i'd skip the chatru coffee, it tastes like a vietnamese coffee! read more

This was my favorite chain in Thailand, and I'm so glad that a location opened up here in Bolsa. The Mocha is my favorite. I got two with 100% and 130% sweetness. At 100% I could still taste a hint of the bitterness of the coffee, so I prefer 130- but both were good. I make my own Thai tea at home so I never order it at places but I wanted to know what the hype with theres was, as they are known for Thai tea. Firstly, I didn't realize if u order the no ice bottled version which is significantly smaller than a regular cup, it's still the same price. The Thai tea is brewed fresh, and has a deeper herbal flavor as it traditionally should be, making it much more concentrated and stronger than what SoCal people are used to. It's too sweet/strong so I personally prefer the way other SoCal spots balance it down with half & half milk and not condensed milk. read more

Super yummy spot for Thai tea! Got the Thai coffee, Thai milk tea, and brown sugar milk. I think that it's a perfect sweet as it's not too sweet. Perfect hangout spot, they got board games and spacious space to hangout. However, the parking isn't the best since it's right next to Asian Garden Mall, it has very limited/little parking. Amazing customer service, drinks are quick to come out. read more

The decoration space in the shop is very cute, true Thai vibe. Neat and clean. Their teas are very fragrant and strong tea. Their panda boba is fragrant, chewy and delicious. The staff is very attentive and cheerful. But when I brought the rose tea home, a little spilled out. I hope the shop can improve the lid of the cup to avoid spilling. read more

So glad this place is here now!! Rose milk tea: yummmm the flavor is super floral and sweet! But it's a slight laxative.. beware!! Just the right amount of cream/floral/sweetness (70%). 9/10! Black Thai tea: my bf's drink was delicious too! Very light and refreshing for a hot day. He got it 30% sweet, so it was a great balanced drink for those looking to stay on the lower end of the sugar spectrum. 8.5/10 Pandan boba: great texture, I think it could soak in some sugar for a little longer to get that sweetness infused in the boba, but the pandan shines through nicely! 7/10 Vibe: 10/10!! Super cute shirts and teas to purchase. It's small, but there's seating inside. As soon as you walk in, you smell the amazing aroma of their freshly brewed teas. It's heaven Service: 9/10! I LOVE Thai tea, but this was a HUGE disappointment. Thai tea SHOULD NOT be $7. I got a Thai tea with 70% sweet, but the worker recommended I got 100% for a creamier drink. I still went with 70% because I like a bold, strong flavor. There's also a flyer stating the reason why there is so much ice which is to lessen the strong tea as it melts. You'd assume that the tea from an authentic Thai brand would be strong but NO. The Thai tea tasted watered down, and the tea was not strong AT ALL. The drink was mostly milk/cream with a splash of tea. The fact that this place is charging $7 for a splash of Thai tea bothers me. A huge bag of Thai tea is less than $15, and you can find it at any grocery store in Little Saigon. If you want Thai tea, go to 7leaves or any restaurant. It doesn't hurt to try it once to know, but I'd rather go somewhere else from now on. read more
