It's comforting to know that Chaumont continues to bake their magnificent pastries, even though many restaurants have closed due to the pandemic. I arrived bright and early on a Sunday morning shortly after they opened and was greeted by a variety of temptations. I was the only customer there and quickly chose a plain croissant, almond croissant and a pain au chocolat, though I really wanted to just say yes to everything. The croissants were very flaky and I enjoyed peeling off the layers, basking in their buttery glory. My table was covered with flakes afterwards - totally worth it. Street parking was super easy, though it was a bit of a challenge getting there because of road closures in Beverly Hills. For those who would rather pay ahead of time so they don't have to place their card in the machine (no signature is required, which is a plus), you can place a phone order and give the credit card info over the phone. read more

Possibly the best croissant in town - lotsa thin, crispy layers & shatter on the outside and soft, pillowy, layers inside. And the French butter aroma is heaven. Chaumont is one of my favorite brunch spots/cafes in the area. They have a wide variety of French pastries to choose from and they are all equally delicious! My favorite is the french toast, it's a small portion so you can order it on top of whatever you're getting and have it for dessert! Pricing is on the higher side, but it's reasonable for the area. It's a small place but I usually find seating pretty quickly. The marble tables photograph really well with your food, so get ready to post!! It's 46 degrees and quite windy on an early December morning and I need my craving for a "pain au chocolat" or "chocolatine" satiated. (Those are the fancy yet accurate ways to say choclat croissant. Yes, I said choclat croissant. I'm pretty sure this chocolate croissant boosted my brains production of dopamine. I was feeling pretty bleh and stressed out and after this croissant, I was feeling like a million bucks. It's a winner. Sunday, April 12, 2020 [Covid-19 Days] I order the same thing weekly Chocolate Croissant & the Avocado Smash last week it was perfect. Today the Avocado Smash was NOT smashed it was chunky, cherry [NOT mini heirloom] tomatoes barely cut in half, bacon on the side NOT on top, no tabasco, no seasoning NOT even the yummy salt they sprinkle on top. Best brunch I've had in a while! I'm not very big on "breakfast" food so I was happy to learn that they serve their lunch entrees all day. I got the chicken bowl and loved it. The soy glaze gives it an Asian taste while the mango salsa infuses some Mexican flavors. It's really good. Also comes in a big serving to fill you up. I couldn't pass up the croissants either. The interior is simple and stylish, with plenty of seating. On a weekday morning, the pastry case was brimming with a beautiful selection. Everything looked so good that it was difficult to decide what I wanted. Based on the recommendation of the friendly cashier, I ended up with a Pain Suisse and an Almond Croissant, both of which I devoured in under 10 minutes. They were expertly executed; perfect 10/10's. I dock one star because I waited 15 minutes for my double espresso, despite being the only customer in the store, and it was burnt. Still, I love Chaumont. read more

However I saw a chocolate croissant on someone else's reviews, and I knew I had to check Chaumont out for myself. When I made my first visit, I found a close parking spot outside and quickly ordered the two items mentioned above. The croissant was good, surprisingly not the best one I've ever had, but it was enjoyable. I guess when I go to a French bakery, my expectations are unusually higher than they should be. The 4-stars however are centered around that chocolate Pain Suisse, which was really, really good. This was my first time ever trying such an item, and I almost don't want to try it anywhere else since it was so perfect here. I actually savored it, although I wanted to swallow it whole, I took my time and I'm glad I did. Came here after seeing it on Instagram for a cute date with my girl. The place is beautiful!! If you look for cute, pink, and delicate cafes this is the place for you! I was immediately greeted by the staff and asked me if I was a first timer, which I was. He gladly went over the WHOLE menu, told me what were some of the fan favorites and what he liked about each pastry. After repeating the whole menu my girlfriend asked to use the restroom. I waited for her on the side and a huge line formed but as soon as she returned from the restroom he notified the line we were there way before them and they were going to service us and skipped us to the front of the line again... TALK ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Everything is Vegan and they even had a Gluten-Free Vegan Cookie option which was great! All together my girlfriend and I got 8 different types of baked goodies and they were all so fabulous. Our favorites were the chocolate croissant and raspberry tart!
