Like another post here, we had a gift card to this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. Not listening to the other 1 star reviews was a huge mistake. We went during an off time (4:30 PM) and we were seated quickly at a dirty table. We waited and waited, no one came to see us for some time. They have a little kiosk at the table which we pushed for service, it blinked red for several minutes and turned itself off. It was at this time we decided we would just go elsewhere, but someone magically appeared at that time and took our order. He did not look like a regular server and we could not figure out what his position actually was at this location. In spite of having an army of servers this was by far the worst service we have had in a long time, maybe ever. The food was decent when it arrived 30 mins later (again it was not busy, no clue why it took so long) but it was quite cool, definitely not hot, and only lukewarm. My daughter went to use the restroom and couldn't because she said it was quite filthy and disgusting and I can't write what she witnessed here. Whomever owns this restaurant should be firing the entire management team and start over. I honestly thought we were being filmed for Kitchen Nightmares -- it was just that bad. Came in for a quick lunch. Ordered a Philly Cheesesteak, no green peppers. Came out with peppers and without onions. Sent it back and 15 minutes later it came out without peppers, onions and with about half as much steak as the first. Returned tonight with a group. It had been years so I figured I'd update my review. The food was worse than I remember. Do not order the meatloaf. Two slices thinner than a hamburger patty that are reheated and dry. Just not good. Red beans and rice were also terrible. Wife had the chicken fried chicken and it was okay. Needed more seasoning. Terrible on so many levels I am not even sure where to start! Yes this is going to be long! I had received a $100 gift card to Cheddars and there are none close to our house, so when my husband and I were up shopping in Franklin we figured we would stop in there and use some of the card. Walking in the door it was beyond cold, even the lady at the front had a huge coat on, she was very rude and said we would have a 10 minute wait even though there was very few people in there. We get seated in the bar area where the bartender is also our waitress, she takes our drink order and my husband had to put his coat back on because it is freezing, you can actually see A/C blowing (by the way this was in the winter a few weeks ago) and we told her it was cold, and she didn't care, so I head out to the car to get my bigger coat and now there is a different lady up front with a coat on and I tell her it is way too cold in here, and she has the nerve to make that noise like "whatever I don't care" and rolled her eyes?! So we place our order and we also ordered something to go to use some of the gift card up, while we are waiting at least 3 sets of people get seated by us and they ask to be moved to the main dining room because it's too cold. We tell the lady seating them how cold it is and she goes to get the manager - some guy walks up and we thought maybe it is the HVAC guy or maint guy, not a manager of a restaurant? He has the nerve to say he turned it down and what the heck do we want him to do about it? We said we need moved, so he moves us to a corner and at this point we should have just paid for the 2 drinks and left, but we were starving. So the bartender which at this point has not refilled our drinks and has been MIA through all this brings our food, it looks terrible! And now I am thinking maybe I should have not ordered something to go. My husband hated his fish, ate a couple bites and was grossed out, he said greasy, no flavor, batter falling off like it wasn't cooked correctly or long enough. I only ate 1/2 my hamburger it was double well done after I asked for medium, so we both filled up on fries as they were at least ok. At this point I went to the waitress and asked if it was too late to cancel the to-go order and she said yes, I should have just told her to keep it. Now I will back up, the waitress asked my husband if he wanted hot sauce when she originally brought the food, and he said yes, well the waitress brings the to-go order and puts it almost on top of us and then says "Oh I forgot the hot sauce" my husband says "it's a little too late now" We ask for the tab and she brings it, we are tippers based on service, we are over generous if we have been treated right, but in this case we left $1 - which was left after deducting all the issues we had from what we would have given. I bet you thought I was done? Nope the food we brought home was inedible and got thrown out, the rest of the gift card got mailed to my mom in CO, maybe their Cheddars will be better? Bottom line: We will never go here again nor will recommend it PS. I need to start remembering to take pictures! read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE & RUDE SERVERS/BARTENDER! Went by around 6:30 on Saturday and the dining room was busy so we sat at an EMPTY BAR. Bartender came over and proceeded to tell us he was four drinks behind and that the kitchen was backed up as well. He then disappeared never to return or take our orders. I love this place. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff treats you like family. We made a reservation went with a group of 6. We were seated within minutes of arriving. The comfort food is good, but it's really the genuine friendly service that distinguishes this restaurant from others. read more

We came in during a quiet time with only five tables occupied. After waiting 45 minutes with no sign of our food after ordering, we checked the Ziosk table tablet and found that our main course had not been entered into the system. We took a screenshot of the bill for proof. The server/bartender presented himself as very confident and experienced. Unfortunately, he seemed preoccupied with other tasks (perhaps end-of-day duties) and was not attentive to our table after we ordered our main course. It took him 30 mins later to let us know that the food was coming. Another 15 mins had gone by and still no food. Total time at Cheddars was about one hour. We were patient. On a positive note, the managers are usually very focused on creating a positive dining experience and tries to rectify the staff's shortcomings. In this case, it was too late to convince us to stay to wait another minute for our food. We were starving and had to go somewhere else. read more

We were staying .5 mile away and picked up food 10 minutes before the stated time. Everything was cold. The food appeared to have been sitting for an extended time. One of the worst meals I've ever had. I picked up and brought home chicken divan with mushrooms. There were 5 pieces of thinly sliced mushroom. The sauce on the chicken, which permeated the rice was so sweet it was as if someone added tablespoons of sugar. I also had a side salad with thousand island dressing. Again, way too sweet. First time eating here tonight, and probably my last. There was nothing inherently wrong or bad about my experience, it just wasn't good food. Service was quite nice, our girl was very kind. It is clean inside. But I looked at the menu for nearly 15 minutes and couldn't find anything that sounded remotely appealing. Looking around at the plates on tables around me made me not want to order a steak as they looked grey/boiled, not properly seared and cooked. The menu called out that all burgers only come medium well, which is a travesty in my eyes, so those were out. I ended up with the Caesar salad and blackened salmon. The salmon had a little bit of spice on it, but not even close to being blackened. However it was definitely over cooked, hammered. Just a really mediocre place that I wouldn't ever think 'oh I can't wait to go back to Cheddar's!' The food was cheap enough so I didn't care too much. I stopped in early after a long day. There were only a few customers so I expected fast service. I was seated right away and no one came to my table. After 20 minutes I was collecting my things to leave when a server named Katie showed up and said" I am sorry, I was talking to my manager". I was ready to order the meatloaf but she told me I would be disappointed so I ordered the white fish with corn and baked potato. At the beginning of the shift she said they were out of corn. I chose the broccoli and cheese casserole. When my food came it was just ok. Thin filets heavy on the seasoning. The potato was great and the broccoli was pretty bland. My server did not come back to check on my meal until I was almost finished. She filled my drink again. I had to use one of those table top kiosks to pay. I really don't like that. I had one of the worst experiences at Cheddar's. I waited over 20 minutes after being seated and not a single server came by to greet me, take a drink order, or even acknowledge that I was there. The place wasn't overly busy, so there was no excuse for being completely ignored. I ended up leaving without any service at all. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional--definitely not the type of experience you'd expect when dining out. read more

This is a sleeper spot! Organization is tied to Longhorn Steakhouse, which is also well managed. In an industry that is increasingly famous for cutting corners, this organization keeps their kitchen standards high and their management is well trained to manage customer expectations. We had great service, the food quality was a pleasant surprise, value was hard to beat, and the ambiance was much nicer than expected. The fish tank is a really nice touch. Only improvements I can mention was a distinct natural gas/propane smell in the entry area, and a rather long wait when we entered before someone greeted us. read more

Nice atmosphere, food is ok... they leave the squeeze ketchup on table that has corn syrup in it. Wish they would wipe them off after each customer(s) leaves the table. I may try it one more time and see what happens. Heinze ketchup doesn't have corn syrup or any unnatural ingredients in the ketchup they send to the UK and Europe. They won't eat alot of the food we eat because of the unhealthy ingredients. read more

The price was FABULOUS for the family meal. I think it would have all been amazing except I ordered late and got my food 20 min before closing. The salmon and tenders were not even warm and tough. The broccoli casserole was awesome. So we're the bacon cheese fries. The croissants had so much potential but I'm thinking they were just leftover as well . Third strike - Will never be back! I've tried 3 times over the last couple of years and have had the same experience - slow service and servers worried more about talking to each other than attending to customers. This location absolutely needs trained, willing-to-work staff. Arrived at 11:34am. Sat at bar. At 11:44 got my soft drink and placed order - soup & salad. No one else sitting at bar - few at tables. Was told croissants were in oven and would be delivered when they came out - NEVER saw one. At 1:12pm my food (soup and salad) arrived. Lady came in after me ordered and was served her T-bone before I got my food (I guess steaks/higher tabs get more attention). At 1:25 had foresight to request tab as many people were getting frustrated trying to pay and leave. Like them, I was on my lunch hour and had to wolf my food down. They need to HIRE SERVERS (I saw there was a sign on the door when I went in) OR CLOSE. Over 30 minutes to get a house salad and soup - Unbelievable!!! Will NEVER be back!!! read more

Was in Brentwood shopping and decided to grab lunch as it's the last restaurant before on-ramp. Please don't make the mistake I made. 24 hours later I'm doubled over with abdominal pain and diarrhea. I ordered the classic burger with cheese. As a chef I could tell it was a precooked/browned patty. The texture was hard outside and mushy inside. I had a very bad experience here when coming in with a diverse group of people. We got skipped in line and several groups were seated before us. Also, when we were finally seated, our plates were wet. Another time, my husband and I both ordered the salmon but his portion was half of mine and barely more than a salad serving. The food, the service, the atmosphere, everything was perfect. We went at lunch and there were not many people there at all. We were checked on often. I was surprised at how quickly I had a new drink every time I finished mine, because I was extremely thirsty this day and drinking them fast. Our server, Holli was absolutely wonderful and her accent made us feel as if we were someplace exotic. I had the vegetable plate and it was great for lunch and filling. Steak was tasty and the pasta salad was A-1. But the best of all was the buttered corn. It made my mother's birthday great. read more

The hostess on 26 December 2024 at 630pm has a pure attitude with eye rolling to match. As soon as I darkened the door she walked away into the bar. Her body language speaks volumes as well as the eye rolling. As a customer that comes here often this is the second time a host/ hostess has pure attitude and poor demeanor. The host last week called me "sweetie" and didn't listen to anything I said. Asked for a booth not in the bar and he said, "how about in the cocktail area". That's the bar! The service by the servers and food have been ok but the customer service at the hostess stand is subpar and quite off putting. I get one thing at this restaurant but can go elsewhere as there are many choices in Cool Springs & Brentwood. Why would a manager call a customer "love"? The salmon I was served at 704pm was bad and the potato was old. Requested a new piece and its 25m later. Have frequented Cheddars 5 times just in December and this is my last visit. Manager has yet to come to my table except to call me "love" and hasn't addressed the bad food. Yet the server said the salmon is otw its now 732pm and I have left. read more
