Came to this Cheddars with my husband. I always rave about Cheddars and how good it is but this is now the second time being to this specific location and the food service has been a disappointment both time. The waitress barely paid any attention to what we wanted or needed all night. When we mentioned how the food wasn't to our standards she just made excuses as to why the food was not good. The ribs were tasteless and dry. The fries were stale and tasted like they had been cooked it old oil the first time around. Second time around they were fresh but still really nasty because the old oil was so strong and left a bitter aftertaste. This is my first review ever. I LOVE cheddars...but not this location. The first time I came here I found a beetle in my salad...my friends wanted to go again and once again...but instead of 1 bug in my food there were two flies. When the manager came to my table he seemed annoyed and said "so I heard that a fly flew into your food" and I looked at him and said "no, there's two fly's in the bottom of my salad" rude manager and nasty kitchen. read more

Our first and last time at this restaurant! Monday night and minimal people dining. Front doors were filthy and entry floor mats folded over and tossed around making for a great trip hazard. The hostess did not asked if we wanted the dining room or loud bar for seating. We realized this after being seated in the bar. The waitress didn't know what the featured special was, (we told her since we saw it on a board in the lobby), she didn't offer the beers on tap after my husband requested a beer ( he just had to throw one out and guess for 1 possible beer on tap), she brought our meals out and gave them to the wrong people after placing the plates perpendicular to each person. Really? If you have ever eaten out, you would have an example of how they place your plate in front of you...Or maybe see how the other wait staff is doing it. We were not offered dessert, just offered the check. We walked through a pile of chips on the floor to get to our table and had to walk through them again and MORE to get out 45 minutes later. No training, no manager supervision, so no return customer! I gave them two stars for the flavorful fish dishes we ordered. At least the kitchen was on point. This place was awful. No coloring of any kind for kids - if you have kids, you know how that matters. Coloring aside, the server clearly did not care. Brought kids drinks with lids and forgot straws. Had to be reminded twice about straws. Forgot lemons when asked about lemons. Food took forever with an empty restaurant and the food was all cold, again, in an empty restaurant. Server didn't come to check on us after food was served - again, in an empty restaurant. And to think we paid them for food, service and atmosphere. Once a great restaurant when it was new, but not anymore! Sat us in the bar area, even though the restaurant have available seating in main section. There was a margarita machine that was making a high pitch sound that drove us crazy. No one seemed to care and didn't offer to move us. A tray of water was dropped- ice, and glass went everywhere including under our table- no apology. All wait staff that wasn't busy hung out at the bar and watched the tv- talking loud. Probably about 4-5 total. Rude. Our food was mediocre at best. What happened to all the great meals? Our waiter came to our table once after serving. Our first time eating at cheddars and I must say the hall rack with shrimp was very delicious and was seasoned just right, my daughter had the smokehouse burger and she finished all of it . Not knowing the area.....I figured we could grab lunch at Cheddars as I've eaten at these places before. That was a mistake. To start with the male host made us feel like it was an inconvenience to address us. What? I thought this was your job? We were seated and the table was disgustingly dirty and greasy. In fact I had to kill an ant crawling on our table. I went to wash my hands and the floors were so greasy that I dam near slid off my feet.....no joke! Well the food came out and it was cold. I didn't think you could screw up French fries but they looked like they were cooked in dirty oil and tasted like it too. Our waitress was nice but her friendliness and pierced tongue couldn't overcome the desire to leave this place fast enough. We ate a few bites, paid our bill and quickly got the hell of this place. If your desperate and need a location to eat off of the main highway......may I suggest McDonalds which is nearby and you most likely will have a better meal. Food is excellent! Large portion sizes and great drinks! Only issues.... I was there Wednesday for a team lunch.it was 10 of us and we only had an hour and a half. Before we left the office we called and asked for a reservation or call ahead seating and was told that the restaurant couldn't do neither. Get there and had to wait 15 minutes and by the time our food came out we had to leave. Needless to say we had to get to go plates to take our food home. Bummer! read more

We went there last week. The food was good but the table was dirty. The waiter told us to pay our bill on the kiosk. I told him I would not touch the kiosk it was nasty. Want to go back but do not want to eat from dirty tables. Doesn't seem like the employees care if it clean or not. When you tell them it doesn't seem to bother them. At Cheddars in general, and this location specifically is one of the best values in all of dining. The menu is diverse, the portions are plentiful and the food quality and preparation are excellent. This location offers easy entry and exit and parking. The wait staff I have encountered are all friendly and accessible. I would however like to say something on behalf of all diners to all restaurants (this seems to happen more often at this Cheddars than other places): ditch the high-top tables. NO ONE likes them! I no longer require a highchair, the stools are uncomfortable and 90% of them are not level. Why am I paying to eat out in such an uncomfortable setting? Everyone likes a booth, or at least a table. High tops all need to be destroyed. Stop asking "is a high top okay?" The answer will always be no, and you likely know that or you would not be asking. read more

We had a group of people, paying by the couple, eating here on Wednesday night. I was running late, but I believe someone was there before 5:30 to secure a table and a booth for us. Aesthetically it looked nice, although it was pretty dark in there, and I didn't wander around the place checking it out. Service was very good. Waters and refills on tea and soda were overflowing...I mean, it was a bit comical. The table was covered in full glasses and they'd be laying down more! Without asking if we wanted it! I finally had to stop them when we'd already paid our bill and were gathering our things to leave. But, I will take that over being bone dry, or ignored by wait staff, any day. As I was late, I really didn't have time to peruse the large menu, so I quickly ordered a club sandwich, which came with fries. It was very big, and good...a bit messy to eat though. Fries were good. My husband's turkey wrap came with seasoned fries...which he wasn't aware of...and I wish mine had been seasoned! Not sure if mine should have been, but weren't, or what the deal was with that. I think they should ask your preference/give you that option when ordering though. I'm not aware of anyone out of the 10 who didn't like their meal, or who had a problem. Prices were incredibly reasonable, especially considering the area. We will definitely go back. I'm curious how their more typical "dinner" meals will stack up. read more

Pros first... Very nice room. A good malbec for $7. Earnest new server. Cons... Fryer temp so low chips with spinach dip were chewy. Catfish was almost raw enough to send back. I had 3 dishes (chips , beans and salsa) that obviously had been seasoned with sugar instead of salt. I asked the server to check. Never heard back. Prices aren't bad but who cares if it's crap? The coup de grace... 2 days later I reach for my debit card at barbershop. Not there. Then I remembered the new earnest server taking my folder while we were still talking and before I took back my card. Ultimately my responsibility but I almost never see them take it while I am still eating dessert. Luckily they had it but why no call? I'll go back after I try every other place in town at least once. I have no ax to grind. Go try for yourself. Then go to Cracker Barrel. Same food. Way better. Just have to byob. read more

We have visited multiple Cheddar's locations: Mt. Juliet & Memphis, TN; Louisville, KY, and this one in Cool Springs. All of our other Cheddar's visits were delightful.. good food, great prices, and our only real complaint was the wait because they were so popular. Something is going on at this location, however, and it's not good. Being a fair person, we have visited this location three times before I'm writing this review. Oddly, all three visits we were seated at the exact same table. I know, weird, huh? In all three cases, the service was slow. Slow to acknowledge us once seated, slow to bring drinks and take our order, and slow to check on any forgotten items/etc. In two of our three visits, I will say the kitchen was on point. Our orders were correct and hot, and served promptly once they finally took our order. That third visit everything about everything was bad. Visit #1 we chalked up to them being new, and said the prices are worth trying again. Visit #2 was so bad, we had to go find the hostess (which wasn't easy) to ask to speak to the manager. There were no servers making eye contact with us for an incredibly long time, and our guy seemingly disappeared. The MOD explained our server was working his very first day ever, and apologized, and gave us two $5 gift cards asking we try again. We waited a full month and went back. No wait at high noon on a Saturday... good/bad sign. Seated at same table... worried. LONG time for our server to acknowledge us... not again. The kitchen/back of house manager is evidently on point. Once ordered, our food arrived via the runners promptly. We had to ask them for beverages we ordered for our server not received, and she did at least come check on us fairly soon. My issue with this third visit in addition to slow service and fairly inattentive is this. Cheddar's food prices are very reasonable: Chicken Sandwich with a side is $8.00, Club Sandwich with a side is the same. But ordering peach tea is $3.95, and ordering an Arnold Palmer half lemonade/half tea is $3.50. The only reason I noticed this was when our check came, I couldn't figure out how lunch of two entrees for $8 using a $10 gift card was still $20. I guess if you drink water, this is still a cheap option, I just thought their beverage prices are out of whack. Overall Cheddar's menu is good and their prices are mostly good. Will we give them a fourth attempt? Not sure. If we do, think we'll try to go and avoid the pitiful servers, or we'll just wait until we are in the area of the many other Cheddar's we've patronized and fully enjoyed. We've been to the Chedder's in Smyrna but it's probably been close to 2 years. Our last experience, though some time ago was pleasant and the food and ambiance was very good. So we decided, since Chedder's opened a new location in Brentwood to give this one a shot. It was very below par with the other location. We went on Saturday, fairly early in the evening, it wasn't busy. However, they sat us next to two filthy tables. I didn't say anything as really, it's none of my business, but the table across from us sat uncleaned and dirty for THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE. Approximately an hour. Now the food...The onion rings app was awesome. If you go here you've got to get them, they're delicious! I ordered the veggie plate. So broccoli casserole, red beans and rice, corn, yogurt/apples. -Broccoli casserole- 2 pcs of broccoli in a pool of melted cheez whiz is what it tasted like -Red Beans/rice- lacked flavor -Corn- I though it was corn on the cob, it was corn kernals that were very buttery but not fresh -Yogurt/apples- this was tasty but the yogurt tasted more like icing from a cake than actual yogurt. Other meals at the table, my wife had chicken pot pie (it looked good), chicken wrap (they got the order wrong, but quickly fixed it, kudos, and some kind of soup which was not eaten. Overall, I feel we should've tried another place to eat. The food was meh like I said, onion rings were good but not much else was special. The restaurant was dirty! Many uncleaned tables, the floor was slick, it was just really dirty. Most likely won't go back. read more

I usually love Cheddar's everywhere. The prices are always good for the food you get. I have never waiting so long as Friday night at any restaurant. I was told 45 min. It took 1:07 hours to get seated. The service was not that good with my drink not being filled. The food almost tasted normal for this chain. I am not sure I will be back to this one, or I will give it a long time to be open and get the spider webs out of their service. read more

We usually count on Cheddars for a solid, hot meal. Not today. Hubby and I arrived for an early dinner, around 3:45pm. Restaurant was almost empty, but we waited several minutes before a server came to our table. She was engaged in a conversation with another table about her job. The salad was very brown and wilted. The entree was not as warm as it should have been. The chicken tenders were tough and chewy, not crispy and tender. We asked for another salad, and it was brought. But, it lacked the shaved Parmesan cheese. We made multiple requests for the croissant that is usually served with the salad. When the manager brought the replacement salad, there was no inquiry about our complaint. You could get the feeling that Cheddars doesn't care about customer experience. read more

We ate here on a Sunday afternoon. It was very busy with the after church crowd. Our wait time was only seven minutes, however. Our waiter was very kind. He had a difficult table near us but he was still very positive and attentive. I had the monte cristo and my fiancé had the ribs/chicken tenders. Absolutely horrible service!! We've had slow service here before and decided to give it another chance because the food is decent but such a bad idea!! We sat at a high top in the bar and waited almost 15 mins for anyone to even say hello to us. Finally our waiter came and he had walked by us numerous times. I only ordered a water because I knew I'd never get a refill. Would have left but waited so long already. We ordered our food right away and waited almost 30 mins to get it. The waiter was extremely unfriendly and it was like he knew we were annoyed by the wait so he just gave up on us. His name was Jefferey. My husband always always still tips well and I understand it's usually not the waiters fault but it definitely was this time. I know he was busy but geez! Not friendly and not a sorry. Horrible horrible service. We had a group of 45 on a bus. Paid our bills and left. Received a call from the manager that they were calling the cops if we didn't return. The manager was a hot mess. Either the waitress pocketed a lot of cash or the restaurant was so unorganized they could not close out the bills correctly. Each and everyone of us paid our bill. Last two trips at the bar I was just ignored. Tonight had to yell three time to get knapkins. Asked for salt and pepper twice finally took it off a table that wasn't seated. Took 5 attempts to get a glass of water that never got refilled. Steak was ordered medium rare came out rare and again couldn't get anyone's attention and they hadn4 people behind the bar. They stayed grouped up chatting with servers most of the time. There was only one other person at the bar. Cheddar's is a chain with locations in Smyrna and Mt. Juliet locally. The menu is diverse enough that, if you can't find something you'll eat, you might want to check with a healthcare professional. The kid's menu is also sufficient for your pickiest eater. I've done burgers, rib shrimp combo, and Buffalo tenders, but I've promised my appetite that I'll get the chicken pot pie the next time I'm there. Much like J. There was no one waiting when we came in to be seated. The only hostess was tied up on the phone and no one greeted or even acknowledged us for far too long. Finally we made a comment and received a nasty look from the hostess. She continued to be very rude. Working in the restaurant business myself, this behavior is absolutely unacceptable and I'm very disappointed. Our server was great and we enjoyed the food. I usually eat at the cheddars in Murfreesboro but I have recently been doing business in the franklin area so decided to try this Cheddars. So glad I did! The service was so good from our waiter that the food could have been awful and I still would have been happy with my visit. The food was very good and did not disappoint. Milian was our waiter and he is the best!! Ask for him cause it doesn't get any better then him!! He needs to be training all the new employees. Went to Cheddars for the first time for lunch, Not impressed! Had a simple two item combo, bowl of tortilla soup and a garden salad! The soup was horrible, Extremely salty and very boring! Tasted like a can of stewed tomatoes, With a few tortilla strips! I sent it back and had the potato soup, it was better! It's not good place to be at I had 2 job interviews there one with Beau and one with Bryant, Bryant told me I got the job at the end of the second interview and he said he would have me start really soon but they never gave me a call or day for me to start and I called them like 6 times for what the day would be they said Beau who is the GM would call me back and give me a starting day but I never got a call back or anything they pretty much blew me off on all the calls I made specially Beau they never gave me an answer and never got back to me. They made it look like they we're trying to ignore all my calls. Beau and Bryant are just both really insecure and just don't know how to manage a company obviously they need to be taught on how there doing a pretty bad job on communication. On how it was for me!!! It was a random weekday around 4 and the restaurant was relatively empty so I thought I would go here for a quick meal. I ordered the chicken and shrimp combo with broccoli and a baked potato. I also had a spinach dip for an appetizer. The spinach dip was average so no complaints. There was queso in the dip which made the taste a little different. My meal included an over buttered potato, dried out rice (under my grilled shrimp), room temperature shrimp, unseasoned broccoli and chicken tenders. I've had this meal at cheddars in NC and TX but this time it was not worthy of even finishing. I need to find another cheddars in the TN area that can live up to my cheddars standards. read more
