Just look at the pictures and video of our $77 dinner. Picture says a thousand words. Ordered a rum water and cran. They brought a glass of water and cran, and then brought a shot glass of rum for us to add. Very odd

Not my first time at Cheddars but it's been a while since my last visit to another location. That visit was soon after COVID with a severely cut-down menu in options and the customer service was below par. Thankfully, much has changed since then! My girlfriend and I were seated quickly by a courteous and friendly hostess. Our waitress was just as nice and quick at taking our drink orders, delicious complimentary buttered and honey croissant, and then she happily explained a few items on the more extensive menu. We enjoyed our appetizer of bacon cheese fries and my steak was delicious and cooked as ordered. My girlfriend's salad was fresh and well put together. Prices here are fairly reasonable for a large chain restaurant, especially in this tough economy. We were very pleased with this meal and service.

Well the greatness streak is broken... we went this week and the fish was raw . I asked the waitress to have them recook my fish and make it well done.... Well.... This is still the result. I always check my fish and this was the first time it was clear and raw and squishy two times in a row... I asked for it to be taken off my bill and left a bit hungry still.

Lunch date with my daughter after an appointment in Cookeville and it was delicious. No wait for a table and the service was excellent. The food was hot, filling and tasty. I always get the vegetable plate and it never disappoints. They take cards and were not social distancing but did clean between customers.

Exactly what you would expect: good food, decent service, but nothing to get excited about.

Chad was friendly, chatted us up, and offered speedy, quality service. The Spiced Pear Mule was delicious and well balanced. The space was warm, and I would've been happy if we'd stayed and gotten dinner here. The pig ears were so good. They were super crispy and served with sweet and sour sauce and mustard, which provided the perfect contrast. The sweet and sour sauce gave you that addicting, luscious flavor and the mustard had just enough pungency to keep you coming back for more. We demolished the bowl in probably record time. We also got the pimento cheese beignets, which were okay. They were deliciously fried pillows of dough that I felt could've used a bit more pimento cheese filling, but the pig ears completely overshadowed them. Devastated that nowhere around me offers this dish and I'll have to wait until the next I come back to get them again!

The service is superb, warm and inviting what you would expect from a southern style restaurant and very clean. The hot bard was always clean and fully stocked. We didn't have to wait too long before we were seated and we got our drink orders. The fried chicken was excellent. Some more of my favorites was the fried okra, wieners and sauerkraut, meatballs (specially seasoned) boiled cabbage, pasta salad, corn bread, banana pudding ( the best I have had in a long time} peach cobbler mmmmmm and they kept the cobbler and fresh cookies on a hot plate to keep them warm. What restaurant does that besides this one!? By the way the salad bar was well kept also. If those attention to details wasn't enough for you, the price includes your drink, and the coffee was so good I had 5 cups!

I'm reminded of an older homey diner, plenty of seating, plenty of staff assisting. Pre-pay, get seated, order you drinks and choose from so many southern dishes. The presentation was that of a cafeteria mixed with mix n match buffet equipment, I think this played part on how I choose my food. They home style choices were numerous so definitely something for everyone. What I did love about this restaurant, it was definitely serving the local community and based on the number of larger, multi generational families seen together it was truly heart warming. I think this environment is much better than a stuffy environment and great to see a community supportive of the locals. Close to Hwy 27 so in the mood for a large meal or just some home style cooking give it a try. Finally don't forget to pick up some local honey or goods.

This place was a wonderful little experience. We were greeted with the sign outside, "Enter as Strangers and Leave as Friends," which is one of my life philosophies. We got there right at opening, so we got seated first along with one of their years-long regulars. A friendly local lady who provided us with pleasant conversation until the next patrons arrived, who were seated right next to us at the same table, family style. Then the next people, then the next. Sitting, talking, passing the food around the table. It was a nice experience. And the ambiance was nice, too. Plain, wooden chairs, white tile flooring, vintage holiday decor, it was like being in a grandma's house. Very comforting. The food came out one or two dishes at a time. Everything was good enough, but it also was apparent that it was mass produced in a catering style. The basics like the bacon and ham were very good, but the fried chicken, I wouldn't take a big piece, save your stomach room for other things. Whatever other things you grab, make sure you grab a biscuit and get ahold of their homemade peach preserves. That stuff was 10/10 excellent. It's so good, they jar it and sell it at the front desk. I totally recommend. Overall, breakfast is one of the most important meal of the day, so if you find yourself in Nashville, I would implore you to come and check out this city staple of over 30 years now.
