Generally this would have been a solid four star experience, unfortunately they lose points for junk fees. During checkout at the counter, there's a little sticker notifying you of a 3.99% fee to use a credit or debit card. Sigh. As a business owner myself, I love customers that use credit cards and the small fee (much lower than 3.99%) that I pay is well worth it as credit cards actually streamline my backend processing compared to cash or checks.

They were super crispy and served with sweet and sour sauce and mustard, which provided the perfect contrast. The sweet and sour sauce gave you that addicting, luscious flavor and the mustard had just enough pungency to keep you coming back for more. We demolished the bowl in probably record time. We also got the pimento cheese beignets, which were okay. They were deliciously fried pillows of dough that I felt could've used a bit more pimento cheese filling, but the pig ears completely overshadowed them. Devastated that nowhere around me offers this dish and I'll have to wait until the next I come back to get them again!

What I did love about this restaurant, it was definitely serving the local community and based on the number of larger, multi generational families seen together it was truly heart warming. I think this environment is much better than a stuffy environment and great to see a community supportive of the locals. Close to Hwy 27 so in the mood for a large meal or just some home style cooking give it a try. Finally don't forget to pick up some local honey or goods.

This place was a wonderful little experience. We were greeted with the sign outside, "Enter as Strangers and Leave as Friends," which is one of my life philosophies. We got there right at opening, so we got seated first along with one of their years-long regulars. A friendly local lady who provided us with pleasant conversation until the next patrons arrived, who were seated right next to us at the same table, family style. Then the next people, then the next. Sitting, talking, passing the food around the table. It was a nice experience. And the ambiance was nice, too. Plain, wooden chairs, white tile flooring, vintage holiday decor, it was like being in a grandma's house. Very comforting. The food came out one or two dishes at a time. Everything was good enough, but it also was apparent that it was mass produced in a catering style. The basics like the bacon and ham were very good, but the fried chicken, I wouldn't take a big piece, save your stomach room for other things. Whatever other things you grab, make sure you grab a biscuit and get ahold of their homemade peach preserves. That stuff was 10/10 excellent. It's so good, they jar it and sell it at the front desk. I totally recommend. Overall, breakfast is one of the most important meal of the day, so if you find yourself in Nashville, I would implore you to come and check out this city staple of over 30 years now.
