Last-minute dinner stop at Cheddar's -- and surprisingly, no wait on a Friday night (a rare win!). We got seated right away, which was a nice start. Unfortunately, the section we were in felt like dining in a walk-in freezer. My buffalo chicken wrappers literally went cold before I could finish eating. Hello everyone, I had the 8ounce steak with a broccoli casserole and a loaded baked potato. The Steak was perfect. The two sides I had tasted very well. The food was good I ordered the steak and fried shrimp the steak came out at the right temperature. My shrimps I didn't care for they had like a rubbery taste as though it was undercooked. My lunch recently was on a Sunday and I ordered the Dijon chicken and mushroom entree for $14.79. My chosen sides were green beans and carrots. Cheddars gives every guest a free buttered croissant that was delicious. My entree arrived about 10 minutes later and had two breasts with honey Dijon sauce slathered on top and a generous portion of cooked mushrooms on the side. We were sat immediately and then waited a bit (long enough to know everything we were ordering) for our server to take our order. I ordered the 14 Oz rib eye, which was very fatty. What do you expect for the price? My husband's dinner was fine but the server didn't bring the correct condiments. Ordered lunch for my staff, picked up order return to office several orders missing, when called to see if they could have food delivered they refused and didn't offer a resolution only to say we will give you a refund. When you're in management you employer should make sure you take courses on conflict resolution. Providing a refund is not always the answer we ordered lunch to eat because we were hungry and we chose this restaurant for a reason. This has put a soar taste in my mouth because again if we don't patronize your business you wouldn't be in business. I remember when this restaurant used to be popular and the wait times were super long whenever it first opened. Now it's in competition with newer restaurants in the surrounding area and they keep changing their menu every time I visit (obviously I don't visit that often). We were seated immediately around 8 pm and there wasn't any wait. Our waiter gave us complimentary honey butter croissants (which was a pleasant surprise). I always order the same thing since I discovered the entree. The bourbon glazed salmon with sweet baby carrots was delicious! My mom also enjoyed her steak but she thought the seasoning was too spicy for her taste. The mango flavored sweet tea was okay. It wasn't as sweet as I expected Texas sweet tea to be, especially at a southern "scratch kitchen", but it was still tasty. Be mindful to call first before heading over here on Sundays though. I went in there with my family Around 9pm today. The waiter that helped us was Val. She was very helpful and had the best customer I ever had. She was still giving us her best even after 10 pm today. I love she always maintained a smile and give us her best. She needs to be a trainer or manager for sure. I told the manager a black brother about the experience tonight. So this place is hidden way in the back I had fun trying to find it lol. The ambience of the decor the paint job and my favorite the fans made lunch even better. Every single one of your employees today were over accommodating very welcoming. Let us switch tables as my friend was pregnant and we was crammed in our first table. No biggy I asked if we could get the bigger table they said yes. The area was clean I even seen the bus boy move the tables and chairs to clean under it. The food was delicious I was tearing it up. Cheddars has been my go to restaurant for years. It broke my heart a few years ago when the nacho was removed as an appetizer. There are still several other good options to get started with as well as several good entree options. The meals are very affordable. I rarely ever spend $30 on a dinner for two but we're always satisfied. Dining in is nice and comfy and service is normally exceptional. The catering option is really good too. I've fed a party of 25 for $130 on two occasions. I can see me going to Cheddars for the next 20yrs. read more

I would not recommend this place just for its consistency on being inconsistent I have been going to this place for years and in the past I have definitely enjoyed it but today was probably the worst food I ever had I went in with my younger sister and cousin to eat there my sister ordered a rare top sirloin 6oz but it was definitely just barely seared on the top and bottom and the sides were just uncooked fat. I ordered the key west chicken and the chicken was definitely super frozen it was a bit rubbery and hard to chew but that's not even the worst part it was the shrimp that came with it! My cousin got a chicken Alfredo pasta with extra shrimp and that's where I think we messed up because right after we ended up throwing up in their restroom and now I'm sitting at home wondering if I got food poisoning. Whenever I'm in Houston I always make sure to stop here! The scratch kitchen is just amazing and the staff is always so friendly and kind. I normally get the blackened salmon and am IN LOVE with their honey butter croissants, especially when they are piping hot. Cheddar's off 290 has been around some years now and the first couple times we went it was nice! And then our third visit we were seated and then did not get helped for 10-15 minutes. When we asked for service the server we spoke to said, 'I'm not your server'. We did eventually get service, food, etc. That was 5 years ago at least, definitely before Covid hit. I did not return til 2022. The server was great! And we had 6 in our party. They were helpful, nice, and really attentive. I was hopeful that there was new management. It seemed to have really improved. I've gone a couple of times with my mother and she really enjoyed it. And our servers have been exemplary! This last time we visited as a whole family. Most recently I've had their salmon, house salad, sautéed veggies, strawberry lemonade, coke, and of course their sweet, warm crescent roll with sweet drizzle. Whoever took over really did a 180 with the staff and food. Everything has been satisfactory. Shane L was our most recent server and he was so pleasant, helpful, responsive, and attentive. All the food we ordered was perfect and delicious. The service was top notch! Drinks were always topped - and their strawberry lemonade is delicious! Chunks of strawberry and a nice iced lemonade. This was THE WORST!!!!!!! I ordered the Trio Sampler. The "spinach dip" was was not a dip. It was thawed spinach with a bland watery sauce.... NO CHEESE!!!! The cheese dip was very watered down with NO FLAVOR. The chicken strips were over cooked and bland. The small container were less than half full. I ordered 4 croissants. I received a wet pile of undercooked dough. The nerve of yall to put undercooked soggy bread dough in a container and serve it people. Ok Chedders I got time for you tonight, let's talk about it. My first experience with the restaurant chain was in Killeen, Tx... and let me tell you they didn't disappoint. The food was delicious.. I'm now in Cypress and I have to say this place does not serve the same quality of food, I've tried it 3 times, on the second time, my chicken stripes taste like they was made in a dirty kitchen. Tonight is my 3rd and final attempt, I didn't ordered a meal, I ordered the chocolate cake sundae dessert and unfortunately it taste OLD, what a waste of a trip this late at night and a waste of money. Not to mention there was no spoon nor napkins in my bag. We chose this restaurant to meet up with a friend. We weren't looking for anything fancy but the decor of Cheddar's was really nice. We didn't have a long wait to be sat and our waitress was super friendly. In fact when we told her what our friend looked like because got to the restaurant early she let the hostess know so that our friend didn't have to try and search for us. Our waitress also noticed that we wanted to chat with our friend so she said when your ready to order place the drink menu standing up and I'll come over to take your order. She did maintain our drinks which was helpful and when we were ready to eat we placed the drink menu where she asked and she was right there to take our orders.
