Just had the BEST experience at a restaurant in a LONG TIME! We came here our 1st time a few weeks ago and had the pleasure of meeting a waitress Brashonda! After, we came a few more times and it wasn't so great! Well today we got Ms.Brashonda again and not only was the food excellent as always, her smile, her making sure you are taken care of without even having to ask, she continually ask if you are ok or need anything and list does not end of her kindness. Came here on Saturday afternoon and sat in the bar area. Restaurant wasn't too busy so we were quickly greeted by the bartender and placed our order. We ordered cheese bites as an appetizer. We also ordered chicken tender platter with double broccoli casserole, half rack of ribs with mac n cheese and baked potato. Food was fresh and came out in a reasonable time. I had not been to a Cheddars for several years because of the pandemic. The pandemic has not been good to Cheddars... The prices are up close to 35%, The portions are down 25% and the quality has dropped so much that we will probably not be back to another cheddars. The steam broccoli that was always seasoned perfectly especially at this location, but now it was so bland and a little over cooked. The green beans are different, in my opinion they're not even green beans they're Italian flat beans and not very southern. The number of coconut shrimp drop from 8 to 4 and the "half" A rack of ribs was missing about a third of the normal bones. Not to mention the thick gluttonous, jiggly fatty layer of silver skin and fat they left on the back of the ribs. And they have changed the barbecue sauce to some sweet commercial brand. Rather disappointing, I guess I'll have to learn how to make good coconut shrimp. Sorry to see him go it was one of the last places you can go and get something healthy to eat. The best thing out of the lunch was the side Caesar salad. So long farewell... Went here to eat lunch earlier today. They cut down some of their menu items now bc of covid and that they also reduced the amount of seating in there to maintain social distancing. They started to give out 4 complimentary honey butter croissants when we were given paper menus w/ a reduced amount of options. Usually I would eat their hand breaded fried shrimp but now they took that off of their menu along w/ the onion rings which my family and I loved. Now I would order a grilled chicken alfredo w/o broccoli in it and their alfredo is great! I ended up eating half of it since I was getting a bit full and I tried to save my stomach a little for a caramel cheesecake after. For the caramel cheesecake I mostly taste caramel more than a cream cheese flavor which is good if you don't like it a bit too sour for your taste. Also their fruit teas are the best to get and I've been getting either strawberry or raspberry (mostly strawberry) lately whenever I go here to eat. My husband decided to eat here 7/28/23 i was hesitant because i don't like cheddars that much but i went anyway. We was seated quite fast and our server Fernando made it known that he was 4 days in on being a server and we could definitely tell but was no big deal! He tried his best! I ordered fried shrimp platter with red beans/rice and green beans so they fry the shrimp with the tail and with a shit load of batter that falls off and if you dont pay attention you will chew the tail and cut the inside of your mouth which i didnt like at all and i had a plate full of batter because it kept falling off my shrimp and some of my batter was soggy at the bottom ( how/why? Its fried!) and im not understanding why and my red beans and rice had corn in it so i sent it back just to get soupy flavorless red beans and rice and those wide sweet green beans were cold! not to mention the one croissant he brought us was cold! and was charged $7 for a small not even half a glass for prosseco that the lady who brought it out to me tried to tell me that it was an entire bottle! (That must a barbie size bottle!) i dont mind spending $ on drinks just be fair! My husband's food seemed ok but he is the type of person that will just eat it if its bad to avoid going back and forth with anyone about anything! but mines was horrible! And just as I figured! I feel like I've eaten here before years ago and it was pretty good. We stopped in with a group of seven after a funeral in the area. I actually preferred the funeral. Even though the place was almost empty (this should have been a sign, but they just opened 40 minutes prior) we were sat at a table that was way too small to fit the plates. We ordered their appetizer sampler and each got a meal. The wife and I got the Buffalo chicken wrap. Everything was lacking, like it is frozen and quickly reheated. The queso was bland, spinach dip was scary, chicken tasted like reheated cafeteria food. Really bad hostess. The girl with light blond hair big square glasses and silver ear ring was rude. Our waiter was super nice though. How do you ruin a very nicely built restaurant with a good location and pretty good food? Put in a bunch of amateur waitstaff, let's say still in high school and throw in a good crowd of prom goer's to mix. This isn't really meant to be a bad review but damn there interior is pretty nice, it is a little dim in there so maybe it would attract the "couples" looking for a quiet place to eat at night but here is definitely not it. I do not want to grill the waitress that we had at this visit but besides her there were a lot of "frumpiness" if I may, walking around, no enthusiasm and "I wanna get out of here" attitudes on this account. I know, it's not like a fine dining venue but the set up that I see here could easily draw in the 25+ crowd here but It looks like the current manager set is relying on the younger crowd. Parking, you need to be cautious here. I do not know if the "bad" element visits here but it is pretty dark here. Of course it is kind of out in the boondocks by Cypresswood Road but a few lamp posts would make the parking lot inviting for passerbys. I ordered a Mojito, it was supposed to be spicy but I requested it not to be spicy because it did not sound too good for me. It did not taste that well but because I was in the mood for one I completed it's disappearance. Portabello Ciabatta Sandwich, DELICIOUS! You have to try this! 5 stars for the soft ciabatta bread (I am used to the semi gummy hard type that you get at Jack In The Box) whatever sauce of ingredient is cooked in there will have you wanting more. I forgot what my side item was, I think it was the "cobbed corn" which was really nothing more than corn from a can possibly. Prices here are pretty reasonable if not cheap. I am a sucker for comfort food but this was pretty uncomfortable. When we arrived the hostess decided to sit us in the daycare center of the restaurant. When we sat down there was a huge spotlight on the table, like we were being interrogated by the waitress "whatta u wanna eat!" Kinda situation. Then as an app we got the spinach dip, which was actually their queso sauce mixes with spinach bites and a dolup of sour cream and chips "stale". We ate that and ordered our entrees which was the chicken fried chicken and a meatloaf to-go as well as their chicken strips with shrimp. The chicken fried chicken was pretty good but that chicken strips was a complete disaster. Not only did it take almost 30 min for the food to arrive but it was poorly put together. The strips only had a drizzle of sauce and the fries were pitiful. I literally just stared at the plate with a mystified look. We sent that order back and ordered another chicken fried chicken to-go. Our waitress was in such a hurry to get us out of there, I kindly obliged. What's really going on at this location? Is it that bad to where even the staff doesn't want to work? I've been to a few Cheddar's locations in the past, which usually ended in a good experience. However, my husband and I decided to try this location today unfortunately. The restaurant did not seem busy, as many servers were just walking around, talking to each other. We sat down and waited for someone to greet us. Waited, and waited, and waited. After 25 minutes of waiting, with many servers making direct eye contact with me, we decided the food could not possibly be worth the wait. Had someone just stopped by and said they would be with us soon, we would have stayed. Poor customer service and lack of management will only cause customers to stop coming here.
