Went last week for lunch with my mom. She had the new Blackened Redfish sandwich w/ spicy Cajun sauce and baked sweet potato on the side. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, but got chicken fried steak, & decided to keep it anyway! All the chain restaurants along George Bush Hwy are always busy, especially at night. I'd give this Cheddar's a two star. I had been craving it for some time and I don't know why I had this impression that it was going to be DELICIOUS. But it was alright. Kinda like when you're hungry, and the only fast food in sight is McDonalds so you buy a couple of things. The chips and queso could use some seasoning, maybe I should bring some Cajun seasoning with me next time. (If there is a next time) We literally had to beg for our drink refills the whole night, I mean come on... we ordered ribs so we needed something to push it down lol. The ribs were ok.... so less than alright but better than bad. The New Orleans pasta wasn't so bad. I don't know if it's the location or cheddars as a whole but the experience doesn't warrant a revisit lol Also... our waiter, barely came back so we had to ask other staff for help. Rice was hard and the salmon was really salty the green beans were not cooked right but the margarita was good probably a little bit heavy on the ice but customer service was really good so A+ to that. read more

Ordered two blackened whitefish dinners with southern green beans and broccoli cheese casserole to go. The fish was watery and bland. The green beans were undercooked and the broccoli rice was hard and not even hot. Cheddar's has always been one of our favs, but we won't be returning for awhile. First thing FINISH THE PAINKILLER! So incredibly good it's a must have, I also had a original burger which let you build the burger which was juicy and flavorful. Second my daughter's plate had hair on it but not in the actual food. My daughter also got the penne pasta which was very good. One downside is that there is a wait, we waited around 25 minutes for the appetizer which isn't that bad but we also had to wait 10 for the drinks and 30 for our food, there is a good selection but the wait is kinda long. They have comfort food which is a plus but overall not much better than Applebee's and very average. The waiters are amazing though and deserve a raise. read more

Cheddar's is a good place for mid-level dining, a place I find a half step better than an Applebees or Fridays. From steaks to shrimp, from pasta to burgers, they provide good food at an even lower price. The service is normally attentive and friendly. Our last visit, we had a waitress named Catherine that was indifferent, tardy, and repeatedly let both our waters and cocktails run completely dry before wandering back. Our appetizer was finished long before she had another waiter bring our entree. The restaurant was about half full, on a Wednesday night. The bar had 4 people sitting in an available 16 or so seats. She topped off our adventure by bringing us a bill and not offering dessert or a to-go box. The food was fine, the service, at least from Catherine, was terrible. Chances are, it could have been an off night for an inattentive manager. While waiting for drink refills, about one section away, were 4 waiters in a group giggling about something that who knows, could have been very important. The atmosphere had deteriorated since our last visit into what seemed like teenagers that considered our presence an inconvenience. read more

SPINACH DIP is king here. It is a tad spicy and served with warm chips. Gooey and cheesey, it was gone within minutes at our table. This location was fine. The waiter was very sweet and patient when waiting for our party to arrive. He checked on us constantly, and he never seemed annoyed while we made him wait. We had several items off of the menu: grilled chicken, kids' meals, salad, and fries. All standard chain dining dishes, so nothing to rave about here. read more

Came in on a Friday night, given a 30 min wait for 7 people, waited less than 5 mins and was seated. Staff was friendly and waitress is polite and personable. According to the kids, "it's the cleanest under the table I've ever seen." Women's restroom was fair, men's was clean. Food was great, perfect to order and plenty to eat and share a meal. I've been here several times at this Cheddars, but first time to review. We had good visit & meal with son and d i l. I had the 8 oz steak medium with loaded baker and green beans. I didn't need any sauce even though I allowed server to bring Heinz 57 just in case. Steak was better than I had expected and it was served on a large bed of their thin onion rings! That was a nice compliment flavor to the vegetables and steak. $10 for one of the best beefy meals is a great price and that will keep me returning. I usually go for the Smokehouse Cheddarburger (I've had at least a dozen of these, here and at other locales) they are incredibly flavorful, but I decided on steak since I had not had one in 6 months or more. No room for dessert this time but there's always next time! read more

Three stars!?! Nice try, I guess Cheddar's is padding the reviews. This place has to be the worst run establishment in town, with some of the best food. I would eat this food everyday, but probably never get sat or a waiter the way they staff here. This will be my last visit! Hope this place gets shut down soon and a well run restaurant replaces it. First time ever checking out a Cheddars and I was pleased. I really liked that I could have a date with my wife for under $30 with appetizers, two entrees and dessert. I tried the cookie monster dessert and thought it was superb. The waitstaff was friendly enough, but nothing to write home about. I enjoyed it a lot and will definitely go back some time. read more

A nice casual place to dine. Plain and simple. So I'll keep this plain and simple. The menu has a good amount of variety and very affordable prices. The portions are big too - I always have leftovers for a good meal later. Drinks from the bar can be really reasonably priced as well. My favorite menu items include the veggie sampler (you'd be surprised at how filling it is!), the potato soup, and the potato skins. Had a few of their salads and my husband frequents the blackened salmon with a generous degree of eagerness. What's great is the two of us can have a full meal here (sodas, appetizers, entrées, dessert) for under $30 without ordering the cheapest things on the menu. Great for a date night or some romantic escapism without breaking the bank. 4 Stars instead of 5 because they always forget my honey butter croissant with me veggie plate. read more

Anyone who knows me knows I love Cheddars BUT their service is a different story. All we wanted was to place a simple togo order but that didn't happen. I called ahead to put it in and they transferred me to the bar as usual only it rang for what seemed like forever and they still didn't pick up. So we just go ahead and drive there to place it. We sat at the bar for at least 15 minutes before anyone even looks at us to help. I tell him we want to place a togo order and we don't need a menu, he says ok and then walks away. I'm thinking WTF. I have to stop him again 5 minutes later to ask him to put my order in. It was just spinach dip but still took 10-15 minutes to come out and they had the nerve to send the containers out half full! By this point I'm angry so I asked him to fill it up...he did...I got the check and we left. This place was so unorganized, unfriendly, and not helpful. I doubt I ever come back here. I never would have expected such a great meal from a Cheddars, but I had my expectations blown away today at lunch. The wife and I stopped in there because we couldn't decide where to go and gave up next to this Cheddars. My meal was the Sirloin and grilled shrimp, southern green beans and steamed broccoli as the side. The steak was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was just right. Putting the steak on the bed of onion strings was a touch I think every place should do from this day forward. Don't know why, but onion strings are like a drug that I cannot live without. The shrimp were good with another good amount of seasoning. I didn't eat the rice with it, but it looked good. The green beans and broccoli were really good, not over/under cooked but just right. I am going to try eating at Cheddars more often after this good experience, and I think you should too. read more

I am not a fan of these kinds of places-- primarily because of price vs quality. For sure, if you have the money to spend on a $10 pot pie + $2 tip instead of going to Bostonian market for a bigger and more scrumptious $6 pot pie, by all means go here. The only reason I go here is because my mom enjoys the atmosphere of being fancy but at the same time being casual. Their croissants with condensed milk is really good but again, if price is the issue, I wouldn't get it. The alcoholic drinks are pretty good. Chicken tenders are decent. Fries are decent. Sandwiches are decent. Food's not too spectacular and the waiters/waitresses are a hit and miss. Place is usually crowded so expect wait time for 10-20 minutes for dinner. read more

Our first time at Cheddars and didn't expect the "from scratch" quality and service at what was a very reasonable price. The Maui Margarita does not disappoint and the chicken tenders are indeed a staple, cooked perfect with very light breading. When here for lunch today. The service was really slow to begin with. At one point had to track down the server for tea fill ups after waiting for about 15-20 minutes for her to come back to the table and do it on her own. The Server obviously did not listen to us order. I ordered the BBQ chicken with fries and a salad. Waited it seemed for about another 15 minutes to get the salad. Then about 5-10 minutes later the meal came out and was wrong. It was chicken tenders with BBQ sauce sprinkled on it. I have not even seen this dish on the menu. The menu said that the BBQ chicken was half a BBQ chicken. Told her it was wrong. She said she would correct it. We waited for another 15-20 minutes and the people we were with had already finished their meal and I was late to get back to work so told her to forget about it. Would suggest not going here. As a token of our gratitude for taking care of our dogs and providing transportation to the airport, we took my mom and little brother here for dinner. We really appreciated Cheddar's late hours on a weeknight because of traffic delays. When we walked in, we were seated immediately. Our server's name was Mark. He was super vibrant and personable. We ordered a couple of margaritas and an appetizer right off the bat. The appetizers and water came out fairly soon, but we did have to inquire about the status of our drinks. The spinach dip is always a slam dunk. Mark was nice enough to bring us an extra plate of chips and salsa just because and this is before we even asked about our missing drinks. For dinner, my hubby and I split the chicken tender platter (buffalo style) and double broccoli cheese casserole with a side of ranch. This is always tasty and more than enough to share. My mom ordered the chicken quesadillas and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. She thoroughly enjoyed it. My little brother ordered the sirloin steak (cooked medium) and tenders platter. When his plate came out, he soon noticed that he was missing one of his side items. To Mark's defense, he had about 5 tables, so it took a bit to bring the issue to his attention. We did have to inquire a second time after we still had not received the missing side. As I stated before, he had several tables going, so I fully understand him being in the weeds. I waited a long time to be greeted or get a drink order. It was 3 in the afternoon so not busy at all so that shouldn't have been a problem. I ordered a steak medium it came out very dry and no pink or red at all. I let that go as this is a cheap place. Then I got up and peed with half my food still on my plate and I came back to the table bussed. I hadn't paid or anything. I just decided to take a free dessert to go and get the heck out of there. When we first arrived the hostess asked us if we didn't mind sitting at the bar top and we didn't, but then we realized it was dirty and piled up plates were everywhere so then she gets us a table and the server was clearly ready to leave and even said to the hostess " You are not seriously going to sit me!?!??" We sat in a booth with that server and she was nice, but just hearing that she didn't want any more tables was a complete turn off so we ordered and pretty much just took a few bites and took the rest to go.
