Young waitress named Ninah(sp) was very slow. Service was terrible. Really good every time I've been going here for years the salmon is really good with the bourbon glaze specifically. The Montecristo is also amazing. My parents love the cheddars in AZ. So we gave it a try. What a big mistake. Started off with the worst hostess ever. Not a smile or even a friendly hello. She definitely didn't want to be working. After waiting for our server for 20 minutes we finally ordered. After another 20 minutes the server returned to tell us they were out of ribs (5:50 pm, really?). So we order again and waited another 25 minutes for our salads to come. Without dressing. We asked for salad dressing and another 10 minutes it showed up. Overall the food as ok. Not bad, but nothing special or nothing that would convince me to give them another chance. Never saw a manger or anyone in charge to talk to about our experience. We had just come out of a movie and decided to once again try Cheddar's, wanting to give them another chance after our last meal there which was a disaster, waiting over 45 minutes for a burger, so, what the heck..let's give 'em another shot. The menu looked fine, and our server seemed nice but likely quite inexperienced, which I'll refrain from going into detail. Then we waited, and waited...after 45 + minutes I got up and found our server, who would only say the kitchen was backed up...hmmm..it wasn't that crowded, but good help is hard to fine these days, then waited another 10 minutes...so 55 minutes at least to be served. Then we decided to see if the wait was worth it...a big NO...the sides of broccoli were....and I can't find a better word..putrid. I couldn't even stand the smell..and my family teases me that I'll eat anything. Wife had chicken and grilled shrimp...over rice. She thought it was barely ok. I had the pot pie (I just felt like one), and it looked ok...had the right things inside, crust was ok...but it was run through the flavor extractor. It had almost no flavor..how could that be possible? When I decided to pay, I thought I'd use the little device on the table..but then looked over the bill and we were charged for a mixed drink..which we never ordered. My family just recently moved up to Simpsonville from Florida and we were excited to see a familiar favorite of ours! My last experience at a Cheddar's in Florida was not so great, so I am happy to report that this experience here was much better! We were greeted by a friendly hostess who promptly seated us. Our waitress came out immediately. She was fabulous! She was on top of drink refills and was a pleasure the entire meal. I had the chicken tender parmesan which came with so much food, I had enough for 3 meals! My husband ordered a steak, my son a plate full of shrimp and of course, my daughter a cheeseburger. Weird how there's a wait for a single person but not for 2 people even though they are sitting at the same type of table or booth. So yes I had to wait while others came after me and got a table instantly! Smh! I was offered a seat at bar but the bar was full/crowded. I went back to get a table and was told to wait again a couple was behind me they went to see if there was somewhere at the bar to sit but seen it was not so they was going to leave Cause they thought since I was told it was a wait for a table they would have to wait as well but the lady said no she had a table ready for them and I'm like huh wtf how is there a table for 2 ready but not 1??? Met with friends last night at Cheddar's for a small birthday celebration. First thing is I want to give honorable mention to our server Xavier. This young man was not only excellent at his job but very personable and enjoyable for us all. We had two small children and an elderly woman with our group and he handle everyone and every request with a smile and grace! I'd like to say the food was excellent too but in all honesty I cannot. We had some temperature issues and I know that with a group, it gets kind of tricky at time. But that was over looked. I had the fried shrimp platter and when I saw it, it looked wonderful. It came out how but when I bit into the shrimp, there was no flavor at all. No seasonings, not ever cracked black pepper. Just beautifully fried BLAND shrimp. The friend next to me had the same issue either her meal. We love the location and the atmosphere but please, please add some seasoning to the food Cheddar's. That could bring back your glory days like when you first opened. The place was just fine. I had the low calorie or lighter choice of grilled Salmon... came with some rice. I added the broccoli and cheese and mashed potatoes. The servings of those choices were small, but reasonable. The fish portion was smallish but, again, not too small. I have a mixed review. We expected a 45 -60 minute wait but only waited 30. Server greeted us very friendly. The place was kinda dirty, lots of food on the floor. Ordering was prompt but we waited a long time for the food and got no attention from our servers while we waited, no drink refills, no silverware. The food came out and looked hot and yummy. Unfortunately we had nothing to eat it with. My dad had to get up and find help, then they only had 2 silverware sets available. I won't go into all the others service problems. As far as the food, the Monte Cristo was excellent but the steak and shrimp was terrible, the steak was so chewy it couldn't be eaten. read more

It was a golden brown crust which was buttery and flaky. Perfect for dipping into the sauce. The salad was very fresh. There was no brown ends or wilting. Crispy and crunchy all the way thru. The fettuccine was just as good. Thick, chunky and juicy pieces of chicken. Great sauce. Chicken tenders-are you kidding me? The absolute best in chain restaurants. Juicy. Crispy. The only complaint that I had was I got a house salad and ordered it with honey mustard dressing. I'm not sure that my definition of honey mustard and their definition of honey mustard, aline. The dressing tasted pretty much like hot spicy mustard, with no hint of honey, or any kind of sweetness. I was only able to eat part of the salad due to not liking the dressing at all. We eat here about once a month and love it. They have the best server named Nick (Nicholas). He is usually there around lunchtime so now we go during that time just so he will help us. We used to just come for the food but Nick makes us want to come back more often. Nick goes above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and he just takes such good care of our family when we are there.
