What's not to love about Cracker Barrel? This location in particular was up to par with what you would expect from any great Cracker Barrel. The service was friendly, the store was well decorated and well kept, and the food was delicious. We tried the chili for the first time, and I would go back just for more chili! My picky daughter said the chicken and dumplings was the best she had ever had anywhere. The grilled chicken salad was delicious. And of course, everything comes with fresh cornbread and biscuits. If you aren't familiar with this restaurant chain, I would say they are known for their breakfast plates and southern cooking. They also make great roast beef. They have tons of vegetable options, and I love the trout! The store is also fun to explore and you are bound to find some unique items if you are gift-shopping.

The service was bad. The hamburger steak was as tuff as leather. The waitress hardly ever came to us and waited on us.

I ordered the French toast with turkey sausage and scrambled eggs, which all were delicious. I ordered potatoes which were not completely cooked. I think I will try this place again during the middle of the week instead of the weekend to see if I can get a different outcome on service.

This location does not serve alcohol as compared to the Woodruff Road location a few miles north. So, if that's your thing for brunch, it's another 10 minutes up the road. They have a wide selection here of both sweet and savory items. Bowls, hashes, wraps, and of course the Million Dollar Bacon (for an extra $3 if you order a breakfast entree). I had the classic with grits. Let's talk about grits. They use Bob's Red Mill yellow corn grits, which are coarse ground, served with butter, and they are pretty good! I'm picky about folks overly creaming or over cheesing their grits. These were cooked so that the creaminess comes from the corn, in part, and they were not gummy. I substituted the grits for the potatoes on the Classic. That's two cage free eggs, four slices of bacon, and whole grain thick sliced toast. You can have smoked ham or turkey or pork sausage links or chicken sausage patties and gluten free bread is also available (no charge to substitute). So they are really going for the healthier options and conscience of providing good choices. My eggs were correctly done over medium. My buddy had turkey sausage biscuits and gravy, two eggs and grits. Coffee is decent, and they set a carafe on the table as well as a milk jug/wine carafe of cold water. I believe the entrees were around $14 each. The service was fine, we sat for a while after eating without being rushed. This is a solid breakfast, especially for those who would like a larger variety of options. Three stars is good, four stars is amazing. It was good, but not amazing, however I definitely will eat here again.

The Cowboy Bene had perfectly poached eggs and the hollandaise sauce was absolutely delicious, rich but not overpowering. The Jazzy Omelet was also great. We asked for the gravy on the side since we're usually not huge gravy people... but honestly, after tasting it, we probably could have had it right on top! The best way I can describe Maverick is that it's like if Biscuit Head and Maple Street Biscuit Company had a baby and if you know those places, you know that's a high compliment. They also have a really cool jam and butter bar, which was a fun touch and gave us a chance to try a few different flavors with the biscuits. From the outside it's a bit of a hole-in-the-wall spot, and you could honestly drive right past it without realizing what you're missing. But in my experience, those are often the best places--and this one definitely proves that point. The staff was friendly, the service was prompt, and the whole experience felt relaxed and welcoming. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

A little European escape... just 2 hours from Atlanta If…read moreyou're looking for something different without hopping on a flight, check out Old Europe Coffee and Desserts inside BridgeWay Station. The entire area is designed like a small European village stone buildings, archways, towers... it honestly doesn't feel like South Carolina. What stood out The dessert case alone will stop you in your tracks. They had: cakes, cheesecakes, and eclairs macarons, cookies, biscotti croissants, scones, and pastries breakfast sandwiches + quiche It's the kind of place where you go in for coffee and end up wanting a full spread. Drinks + pricing Full coffee menu with everything you'd expect: espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, cold brew, chai, plus some fun seasonal drinks like chocolate strawberry and s'mores-inspired options. Prices felt fair for a specialty coffee shop, not overdone. The vibe This is what makes it worth the trip. It's not just a coffee shop -- it's an experience: great for a date solo coffee run content/photos or just walking around with a drink You can grab your coffee and actually enjoy the space instead of rushing out. Worth the drive? From Atlanta, it's about 2 hours so I'd treat it as a day trip or add-on stop, not just a quick coffee run. But if you like: unique spots good desserts aesthetic environments ...it's definitely worth checking out.

The only bakery cafe kind of place in this locality and had to say it was nothing like the reviews…read moreactually described it as. THE FOOD: We did try their Chocolate truffle cake and hot chocolate. Was initially confused between Tiramisu and Chocolate truffle cake and the staff there suggested to take the Chocolate truffle cake. It was not good at all. To be honest it looked like it was taken straight out of the refrigerator after storing it for the whole week. Very disappointing. Even the tiramisu looked like that. Seemed old and not so fresh. The cake was bland and there's not flavor in anything. Definitely my taste buds were in good shape that day! The hot chocolate was kind of okay. Nothing special about it either. Not sure what's so European about that either. They did have a good collection of macaroons but cake options were limited and slightly over priced IMO for the quantity and quality. AMBIENCE & SERVICE: The bakery tries to be rustic and is kind of decently lit. It's actually very cramped and all the tables & chairs were not arranged as we walked in on one side. The other side had a lot of tables overlapping and no place to walk into even if you found a place. They then started to arrange the tables and chairs on the other side probably after 6 PM in the evening. Not sure what's stopped them from arranging it earlier? Didn't see any cleaning going on either. The staff there seem good but look a lot careless or disinterested or out of touch with the work. Paper towels/ napkins were hard to find and when asked for they just hand over one sheet/ slice of paper napkin. Like really for a table of 3? I would try not visit this place as the quality is very average in terms of food and ambience. BOTTOMLINE: A sub standard bakery cafe with decent options and variety serving bland 3-4 days old cakes that doesn't have to be this pricey within a cramped space and a lackluster service. Nothing against anyone, just was super disappointed with a basic "not fresh" cake. MY PICKS FOR YOU: Avoid if possible!
