Well Folks I am Happy to Post that this Location has Improved since my last few Visits!!!! Indeed, seems like Old Times are back and the Food and Service are greatly Improved. Traveling through with a few coworkers and we had to see what the hype was about. Wow! I was not expecting such a good meal. The restaurant is super cute, decorated but not in a busy way, lots of things for us to look at while we waited for our food but the food came out so fast we didn't get to look long. The waitstaff was warm and friendly and listened to all my coworkers allergen concerns and questions without missing a beat. The food was amazing, every single thing was clearly fresh and wasn't microwaved or reheated and my steak was cooked to perfection, which isn't always the case these days. Who would've thought that Cracker Barrel would've satisfied all three of us. The vegetarian had a impossible sausage Benedict with baked apples and a side of Broccoli. She finished it off and was quite satisfied. The mostly vegetarian had tater tots and a biscuit. The tater tots had cheese and ranch dressing on it. These tater tots were creamy inside, not like the frozen ones you buy at the supermarket. Absolutely delicious. And the omnivore had the normal Benedict with apples and Breakfast casserole. Equally delicious with bacon. Service was friendly, we had lots of questions which were cheerfully answered by the waitress. Don't bother going. Over the last 2-3 years the food quality keeps going downhill. Was there this week. Biscuits so hard that I was sure a tooth would break. What's not to love about Cracker Barrel? This location in particular was up to par with what you would expect from any great Cracker Barrel. The service was friendly, the store was well decorated and well kept, and the food was delicious. We tried the chili for the first time, and I would go back just for more chili! My picky daughter said the chicken and dumplings was the best she had ever had anywhere. The grilled chicken salad was delicious. And of course, everything comes with fresh cornbread and biscuits. If you aren't familiar with this restaurant chain, I would say they are known for their breakfast plates and southern cooking. They also make great roast beef. We came tonight and Marilyn was our server. It seemed like she was having a bad day. Marilyn didn't seem interested in our table whatsoever. It took forever for her to take our drink order and when the food finally came out, my friend found a piece of corn in her green beans. She is allergic to corn, but wasn't able to tell Marilyn because she kept walking away. We found Marilyn to be fresh, inattentive and overall disrespectful. Our family was very hungry this morning and we decided to come here because we would go here all the time when we were younger, but whenever we walked in we were expecting about a 20 minute wait at the longest but when they told us our wait for 30 minutes we didn't really care but after 1 hour we still didn't have are table so after a few minuets later we finally got our table but we could barely understand our server and it sounded like she had marbles in her mouth and by this time it was lunch..? I ordered the grandmas sampler and when it came out with pancakes that were not fluffy or done, bacon that was raw, hard fried eggs when I asked for over medium and country ham that was still also raw. I should have just gotten up and left. But again it's my birthday weekend and my diabetic self wanted pancakes. When we got there to pick it up, confirmation in hand, they proceeded to tell us that they couldn't find our order in the system - despite the receipt stapled on the bag with our name on it. They told us that the order wasn't paid for, made us feel like common criminals, before finally letting us go with our food. The food in question was intended for our grandfather at the nursing home, and because of their rude and inconvenient accusations, we were therefore late for our scheduled appointment with our grandfather. My family spent over $70 on food at Cracker Barrel. While waiting for our food, we decided to browse the store. However, a lady, who seemed like the manager, continuously stared at us through a window. She approached us and asked if we needed help, which is standard, but then proceeded to stand beside my family, pretending to be busy sifting through clothes next to us. She followed us around, repeatedly asking if we needed help, despite our constant refusals. She also yelled at her employees about getting our order out quickly, focusing solely on our order among all the other customers. Finally, after 30 minutes, when we received our food (and had paid for the food beforehand), she went through our food, asked the employee multiple times if we paid and even when the employee said we paid she rechecked the receipt multiple times. The entire interaction was odd and uncomfortable, especially considering my whole family is Black. We simply wanted dinner, but this experience was unsettling and unwelcoming. Go to Cracker Barrel every Friday morning for breakfast. The staff could not be more friendlier and the environment is always clean. Beth has been my waitress a few times and is not only good at what she does but enjoys talking with her patrons. His name escapes me but he's a slim guy who's always approachable even if he's not your server. I should note to other folks who have a pleasant experience here, TIP!!! Today I order biscuits and gravy with three pancakes with whipped cream and peach toppings. As par for the course my to go order wasn't right. Instead of getting three biscuits with gravy I got one biscuit, one cornbread (yuck) with the gravy. Secondly, with my three pancakes, no peach toppings, no whipped cream. The breakfast itself wasn't bad as they provided butter and 3 bottles of syrup, so I was satisfied with that but yet again this Cracker Barrel failed to come through. Lastly, on a separate takeout, I went in to pickup my order and wanted to make sure the Apples and Dumplings I love was prepared correctly. On one occasion the dumplings were like one quarter filled of what they should have been. I simply wanted to make sure it was done properly. Well, this surely didn't sit well with the female Manager whom still works there because I still frequent this restaurant as a walk in customer. After waiting and waiting here she comes with my desert, opens it up and says, "See, that looks like it could feed 2 to 3 people!?!"
