Family and I had lunch here today. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Like most places you can tell they are alittle short staffed because people were waiting and there were a lot of open booths and tables. You would never tell from the service though that they were short staffed. Our waitress was fantastic and on top of it. Refills before we could even ask. I tried several different bites of each family members food and they were all delicious. Manager helped sing happy birthday to our nephew and the giant cookie dessert was remarkable! We ordered onion rings for an appetizer and we could not eat them because they were too salty. Inedible salty. Husband ordered a hamburger and it was over salted again, as was the loaded potato soup. My wife had a PTA meeting tonight and the kids had Kuk Sool Wan, given all that was going on we decided to meet at Cheddar's for an early dinner. My wife arrived early with my daughter and was able to get us a table immediately as she arrived around 4:30pm. The waitress came overly quickly to take our drink order and I ordered the Chips and Homemade Queso w/Beef. The Queso with Beef added was fantastic, the kids killed it, I mean I may have eaten three chips worth and it was gone. For my meal I ordered the Signature Shrimp and Chicken Salad. The menu described the vinaigrette as a bourbon glaze, sweet vinaigrette. It was certainly sweet, honestly too sweet. The Shrimp were perfectly cooked and well seasoned and the chicken was tender and juicy. The salad itself was decent, just too sweet for my taste with the sweet vinaigrette and the pineapple. I try to limit my reviews to the food I order, but I must say the Monte Cristo my wife ordered was amazing. I haven't had a Monte Cristo that good since Bennigan's closed in Greenville ages ago. My wife was kind enough to share, though I suspect her motives were not altogether altruistic as the sandwich was too rich to eat solo. The kids loved it except for my cheese-hating oldest son. All in all it was a favorable visit, though I would like to try it again when we have more time to sit and enjoy our meals. read more

The only reason why this place is not getting 1 star is because I didn't throw up after eating the food and our server was nice. First of all, I got the burger and I would've rather walked across the street to McDonald's to get one for $1 instead of theirs for $7. There was nothing special about it and after a few bites it just started tasting funky and I didn't finish it. Also it did not even come with a side so you literally have to pay extra if you want some fries with your burger. That makes absolutely no sense to me. The place was really empty, which obviously makes sense to me now. Nothing about the menu screamed that they made anything fresh or in house, or that they even had any specialty items. I have a pretty big family and we had a party of 15. They sat us with no problem and our waitress was nice. The girl that came to clean the table off while we were waiting for our checks, kept asking where I worked at and asking about my job. It was creepy so I didn't give her any information. The second time I came, we had a 11 and they wouldn't take us. They didn't give us an option to wait or give us an option for separate table. The little girl in the front was rude, unprofessional and childish. No type of empathy or anything. Just "No". She got her manager. The manager said "No" too. We always loved coming here and looked forward to it every other week. Over the last few months the management has really let the staff ruin it. Once you walk through the door there are always a handful of you kids hanging at the check in stand. You might get one of them to seat you after the done acting like they are in grade school. Once you make it to the table, don't be in any hurry. Your server will be with you after 15 minutes of waiting. You will finally get greeted and your drink order. When the server finally makes it back with your drinks they are all sweated and watered down. The server will take your order and you will not see them again until your food is brought to you. Let me include that you no longer are you offered bread with the start of your meal and you are very lucky if you even get your entire meal brought out to you correctly. We got our main meal and of all things to forget was our sides. Also we had to wait for dinnerware. Food started to cool down by the time it arrived Once we got our complete meals, we never seen the server again until we had finished plates at the end of the table. Asked if we wanted desserts. We choose the check so we could leave. We gonna hold out and not come for several months and hope that management and corporate can get it back in order. Best Feature: Great food at great prices. Worst feature: Small waiting area. Chedder's is a shining example of what a casual restaurant should be like. The staff appeared to all be friendly and attentive, the food and drink were some of the best in town, and everything seemed to be running smoothly with a short wait to be seated and served. Even the decor of this place is inviting and exceptional. Our cheese fries were absolutely delicious and I got a half pound burger and a side for about $7. The seats were soft, the place was quiet enough for me, and all-in-all I was so impressed that I had to call the manager over to thank him for running such a wonderful pllace near where I live and to beg him to never ever change a thing. Suffice it to say that every Cheddars I've been to, in various locations and states, are ALWAYS busy. Always. That's a testament to how good they are. Now, the longest I've ever had to wait (anywhere) is 30 minutes, and I know I'm going to be waiting before I go. That said, once seated, food and service are usually stellar give or take a couple times where the food comes out a little lukewarm instead of made-to-order piping hot. This location was no different. Service was standard, not stellar, but enough to tip the usual 15%. Appetizers came out and were exemplary (spinach dip, chips n salsa, crossaint rolls). Our entrees were lukewarm, and if I weren't starving I would have sent it back to be warmed. The painkiller is my fav drink and I always max out the "limit". This is a great place to go to if you want a cheap meal. The burgers are pretty good, the salmon is flavorful and not overcooked, the bone-in ribeye is surprisingly really good for only 20 dollars, and the chicken pot pie is really hearty with tender chicken. This place always gets packed during Friday and the weekends, so try to come Monday-Thursday if you want to avoid the crowd. It took me a long time to visit Cheddar's but I finally made it. Hubby had the day off and I cherish any time we get to spend together. We were out and about trying to find the gun he wants, but it seems like everyone and their grandmother has armed up over the past year and everything is on back order and just like a baked potato ... who knows when the next shipment will come in?! Anyway, we were across the street becoming hungry and my love suggested we go to Cheddar's since we have never been. First off, the inside is aesthetically quite pleasing with a beautiful aquarium as part of the wall divider and the built-in brick style. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo Pasta and hubster went for a regular Burger (I can see a trend here; see previous review for Sunflower Eatery). The portion sizes are quite large so it was a good thing that I was hungry, but not even with a large appetite could I finish all of my pasta. It was creamy, the chicken breast was well cooked and served in long strips that had to be cut and plenty of penne pasta. All in all it was a good meal and thankfully he finished it for me as he still had room left. Husband felt that his burger was nothing special. We also ordered the Hot Fudge Cake Sundae for dessert. I love desserts, but this one did not strike me as special; I enjoyed the hot fudge the most, but the cake was not warm as we had hoped and in fact it was dry and only the ice cream helped get it down. I did have my eye on the Pain Killer drink, because it looked delicious, but I chose to refrain this time; now I think I may have missed my chance for quite some time as he is not excited about going back. One big negative was that once we tried to get up to leave we nearly couldn't. And I mean, physically could not get up, because our shoes were practically glued to their sticky floor! Ugh! It really does not take that much time to mop a floor with decent help. Who knows when it was last mopped, because I can't imagine it was in any recent time. Sad! I don't think I'd mind coming back when family is in town altogether and we need space for a larger party, but otherwise I think I'd stick to sitting at a high-top chair at the bar and try to swim out the door via their nice aquarium. I've been here a handful of times and to me the menu items are just ehhhh. I ordered the veg plate one evening and had the chicken tender soup and it was nothing but breading. The Mac and cheese was terrible, with a almost pasty texture. Not my cup of tea. read more
