I've dined here about 8-10 times, the service is excellent at times but at others it leaves much to be desired. The food has been acceptable for the price. My personal favorite is the chicken alfredo. They also have some of the best strawberry lemonade I've had. My sister got married last weekend and we had family in from Ny and we all wanted to meet up for a big family lunch at Cheddars! I called 2 hours ahead to reserve a table for 13 people. When we got there I knew they didn't have the reservation instantly when they were running around and trying to find us a table. Then they sat us in a booth and a table ultimately splitting up our party. I told the hostess I wasn't happy and honestly was ready to leave. She offered no solution to our issue and said thats all they had. We sat down since our time was limited and ate lunch. I wasn't able to converse with half our guests and it really bothered me since I had done my part by calling in our reservation. The only things that made the trip to this Cheddars better was we did have an excellent server and that the food was very good! read more

The food was very good as always but the wait was ridiculous when we started our 30 minute wait the restaurant had 11 empty tables that I could see!! After about 20 minutes I asked "do you not have servers for all of these empty tables?" Response "the kitchen is backed up so we are holding tables letting them catch up" I'd much rather be sat & told that it will take time to be served!! Makes zero sense to me!! We only had to wait 20 minutes to be seated which was a great start but it went downhill from there we waited 55 minutes for food and when it came it was cold . On top of that 1 of the items was wrong in 2 of the items were missing . We were a party of 6 which isn't a very large group for a Saturday night at 7:30 so there shouldn't have been a big deal . One of the members of our party had to send her food back it was so cold, and the rest of us just sort of picked at ours. We finally got the missing items after waiting for another 10 minutes and one of the members of our party never did get the water refill that they wanted. We were never told goodbye...we just left. And by the way, the suggested tip on the receipt was based off of the taxed total, not pre tax. Says a lot about the business they do. We always try to give placed the benefit of the doubt, everyone is entitled to a bad night, but It was so bad, we won't be back. read more

For starters, this is my first ever review on Yelp, so go me! My fiancée and I love Cheddar's. It's one of our favorite restaurants to go to on a date night. The last time we went, we ordered the Steak and Chicken Tenders combo with fries and Mac and cheese as well as a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. The chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned, and the steak (ordered medium) was very well seasoned and cooked to near perfection. The cheeseburger was the best part, though. The bacon was crispy but not too crispy and really added zest to the burger. The meat was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The cheese was also quite good along with perfectly toasted buns. My only complaint was the wait time for my fiancée's margarita (she was almost done with her food by the time she got it). Other than that, kind waiters, great appetizers, and a large variety of items that won't break the bank. Would highly recommend! read more

To me this is an overpriced Cracker Barrel. With half the choices and slow employees. We arrived at 7:30 on a slow Sunday night. We were told we would have a 30 minute wait. It was pouring down so we decided to wait. Wait time was 35 mins. We were seated and after around 10 mins waiter took our drink order,another 10 and we had our complicated drinks,ice tea. Waiter finally came back took food order,mostly vegetables. After an hour wait my sweet humble husband who usually encourages me not to complain,got up and went and spoke to manager. Waiter came back said he was sorry for wait food would be out in 3-4 minutes. Food was out in 15. It was cold. Baked potatoe had sour cream on it which made hubby sick (he had specifically said NO sour cream) after all that did anyone ever say sorry, hope your food is ok,etc. NO and the manager never even checked to see if food was received. Take my advice if you want made from scratch veggies go to Cracker Barrel. At least you'll get a piece of bread if you have to wait. read more

I ordered a take out meal with an extra order of croissants. When given my order I had no croissants. Upon returning to restaurant, and complaining, I was given half cooked croissants. They were very busy but this is unacceptable to serve uncooked food! Poor management! Do not recommend this one! read more

Sad experience tonight. We eat here often and usually have a good time and meal. Tonight we we're sat right away like normal, but had to wait for over 15 minutes and nobody showed to take our order or even acknowledge that we were sitting there. Finally had to go to the hostess station to see if anyone was interested in serving us. Sat for another 5 minutes or so and still no service. So sad. read more

Food was ok, tortilla chips were good and the veggies too. They were out of the beer my husband ordered and the wine I ordered. So I tried a another wine. Our server was not pleased when I sent my wine back as it was completely not good (I've done this twice in my life). I ordered a sparkling wine. That took about 20 min. (The restaurant was not very busy). But it was not a sparkling wine. By this time I didn't want to trouble the server again or make a second request in front of my dinner guests. This was my first time at Cheddars. When I walked in the hostess tried to seat us in an area with several dirty tables piled with used dishes. I asked to be seated somewhere else but I had to look down several aisles before I found a clean table without a bunch of dirty dishes and food on the floor. Food was meh. Service was ok. Sit in the bar at the high tops if you can for instant seating. The salmon is always great, and the lunch portion is under $9. Carrots and steamed broccoli is a win as a side dish. My wife loves the mango salsa tilapia. If you like chips and queso go for their queso with beef. The philly cheese steak is great with a side of bbq. The chicken tenders platter is generally huge, and we like the broccoli cheese casserole as a side. read more

Wow! Where do I began? I know about available seating and servers at restaurants. However, when the patio is half empty on Saturday night at 8:00 pm, you sit the customer on the patio. Our waitress was terrible. My wife ordered a bottle of wine I ordered a beer. My drink came first and she said she had to go get my wife's. We ordered a app with our drink order and our food when she came back without my wife's wine. We sat and waited for a while then she brings the wine without any glasses!! Wife said "I need a glass please" and she looked at her like she was stupid and said ok then turned around and took the order of a 8 top. So when a different waiter brought our app we asked him for a glass and he said "she didn't bring glasses!?" We got glasses while she was still talking to the other table. I only had one beer because I was never asked if I wanted another. Luckily I ordered a water as well or I would have choked to death. Food was ok nothing to write home about. My wife asked for the rest of the bottle to be packaged so we could take it with us. It took her an extremely long time to bring back the check. We love this place and the only criticism is that each time we've had a 'new' server they were slow and completely lost. Have tried Cheddars three times. First time I ordered (over)baked potato (so overbaked, the peel was actually crusty and the potato inedible) and overcooked vegetables. Second time I ordered fish tacos. The fish was so over-seasoned and salty I had to send it back. So I got and ate my lunch after everyone else had finished theirs. The third time, my companion had shepard's pie which was so salty she sent it back and refused to order anything else. My Philly cheesesteak sandwich (they brought out a club sandwich to begin with, which was wrong) was over-salted and was nothing more than some overly seasoned beef with a couple of cheese slices on top. The kids' meals were very salty as well. I had to clear our salad plates before the main meals came out because the waiter said he would be back for the plates, then disappeared. There is no chef in the kitchen and all their food comes from a central warehouse. When it's prepared in the kitchen, they just add a lot of salt to it, evidently. This is just another underwhelming franchise type "restaurant" (and I use the word loosely) that serves bad food with lousy service. Their gimmick is fatty frozen croissants that seem unlikely to have come into contact with any real butter. You can taste the freaking margarine in the croissant. Beer Battered Shrimp- I always eat the beer battered shrimp dinner from cheddars, but one day when I ordered my meal I was not pleased. First, they forgot one of side items and 2nd the shrimp were not DEVEINED!. I called the restaurant and the manager apologized and said that they run their shrimp thru a machine that deveins them and next order will be free. Well I went there last week (about a month prior to the last visit) and ordered the same meal. Guess what? the shrimp were not deveined. I was very upset. I did not want to eat their anymore. I told the manager that was there at that time as was told me same story the previous manager told me. She also said that the morning shift are supposed to devein the shrimp. She gave me another order of shrimp and made sure that they correct, but that did not satisfy what i sent thru for the times they had to fix my meal. when ever I go to cheddars I always have a good time. every time I go its after church with a group of my church friends each and every time we go just so happen to get the same booth seats. when I go I order the same food every time chicken tenders, steak, and double fries. I love there service because you never have to worry about asking for anything twice, and the way the waiters and waitress dress by wearing bright color ties makes it more interesting because you will not find many other restaurants dressing the same way, and the food is always fresh. the last time I was there I surprised my girl friend with a ring which was a great experience, but all in all I always have a great experience whenever I go. read more

The food is consistently great for a reasonable price with nice-sized portions. We go there quite often. They seem to have difficulty with staffing. After receiving our entrees most recently, we waited at least 15 minutes, hoping our waitress would come by to let her know we hadn't received our sides. We had no drinks left by this point also. She never did check on us. A hostess happened by and she happily helped us and was quite nice. We did not complain, but merely asked for what was missing from our meals. My husband had eaten half of his steak by the time his sides showed up. This is fine as problems do arise. However, it was quite apparent our waitress was angry after this event. She gave us dirty looks on her way by and never spoke to us the rest of our meal. She did not ask if the steak was done correctly or if we needed anything or wanted dessert. (The last time she had spoken to us was when she brought our appetizer and we had thanked her nicely.) She slapped the leather folder containing our bill on the table and walked off in a huff without a word. We did then complain to the manager about this attitude and unfair treatment, and he apologized. We did not ask that our meal be comped. This person should not be in the food service business. It was no fun whatsoever, as we hate complaining, understand waitstaff need the money, and generally like the restaurant. It is the first time we've complained, but not the first time we've noticed inferior, unfriendly, or apathetic service for either ourselves or others around us. read more
