Dined at reg Knoxville location the other night on the first day of our vacation. Food was hot, flavorful, plentiful and delicious. I can say out waitress was too good. We never went unserviced and we never went thirsty. At one point we had 11 drinks on our table and only two of them we empty. Cheddar's is a restaurant for once with updated refinement while still remaining informal and generous spacing between divisions of different seating areas including well prepared food that is not your average Friday foodie selection as there are plenty of dishes in variety ranging from healthful to mouthwatering Texas comfort food. I will add too just on a personal note of preference that the booths' lengths were as huge as their food portions which is welcome in my world. read more

If I could give a negative five I would in a heart beat. This is the worst Cheddars location in the Houston area!! Waitresses are rude, the food prep is horrendous, and they have no regard for sanitary serving. I have given this location 3 opportunites to prove that they are not giving the Cheddars chain a bad rep but it official this is not anywhere where I will return ever again! The 1st time i went was the first year they were open on mothers day weekend and the service was horrible i literally had to stand up and go to the waitress 2 tables down twice to have someone come to our table. The second time for lunch I ordered a the steak and shrimp med rare on the steak. The steak was not rare at any means it looked like brown leather and the shrimps were awful not thoroughly clean the veins and feet were still on the shrimp. FLIPPIN'GROSS!!!!!! Then on my last chance i decided to call it in and see if perhaps they could salvage my opinion and experience so i kept it easy I ordered a bacon cheese burger with mushrooms hold to the tomatoes. Simple right well my freaking burger came with a big old chunk of tomato (which I hate) and the mushrooms you would assume would be covered in cheese on the burger right....WRONG SO WRONG they were not they were however in the container on the side.....WHO ORDERS A BACON CHEESEBURGER WITH MUSHROOMS on the SIDE??? While I was waiting I decided i wanted a chocolate shake well in the process of making my shake th girl behind the bar notices a chunk of icecream not being broken up by the blender so she has a EINSTEIN moment and sticks a metal spoon inside of a operating blender. Yup you might have guessed that the results, yes the spoon gets caught in the blender which is turned on and fully working, and instead of doing the simple thing and i dont know TURNING IT OFF she gets the "brilliant light bulb-I know what to do" thought and sticks her hand in to reach for the spoon not once not twice but yes 3 times!!! Then went on to serve me the shake saying dont worry i didnt get any blood in it.... UMMM I dont know that GROSS!!! i paid for my food but left there without a shake and nasty tomatoes on my bacon cheese burger with the side of COLD mushrooms. :( If you want to be aggravated an disappointed time and time again then the Pasadena location is for you but if you want to enjoy a meal at cheddars go to the Baytown location off of Garth rd. or any of the other locations in surrounding areas bc the Pasadena location off of the beltwayd 8 SUCKS!! read more

So Cheddars is one of the few chain restaurants that my husband and I are find of. We decided to try this one because of the close proximity to our home. We appreciated that there was no wait at the door which is something we experience about 95% of the time at the other location. That and their Moonshine Mary (Bloody Mary made with Moonshine) were about the only things that were great! Our waiter only came to our table maybe 3 times. When my husband got his food he was missing one of the main ingredients... He ordered a cheddar bacon cheeseburger and it came without the cheese. He was able to send it back and get cheese added. I ordered a combo top sirloin (medium) and half rack of ribs with a side of steamed broccoli (that got over cooked) and Mac and cheese). My steak came back rare instead of medium. My ribs tasted as if they had been boiled prior to being put on the grill and absolutely no flavor within the meat. We did let the manager know and he was supposed to take off a portion of our meal which did not happen. Very very disappointed.... Definitely will not be back. Went there once. Food looked and tasted to its cost. (Cheap) . Overhyped I guess cause of the area it's in and the choices we have around here mainly none. We went here because other than other equally mediocre chain restaurants here in La Porte, this one had a bar. The food menu sucked but I suppose you get what you pay for. I mean, honestly anyone paying for a $16 steak is going to get a poop $16 steak. The White Russians were super watered down, white wine worst than a bottle of boones. I've been here a few times and I usually get the same thing...the Monte cristo. Ever since the benagins closed, this is the only place I know of to get one but that's ok because it's pretty darn good. The meats and cheeses are top shelf and the bread is fried to a golden brown. I would actually prefer a little crispier bread. Drinks are pretty good and priced about average. Over all not a bad place to eat read more

The queso here is tasty although the chips were oily. My potato soup was good and my husband had the New Orleans Pasta. He really enjoyed the spiciness of the dish and the chicken and shrimp were well cooked. Here's the problem: Our server acted like we were an inconvenience. I had to finally go to the front and break up a pow wow of several other servers to get our bill. It's a shame to ruin an otherwise decent meal with such poor service. read more

I come here very often. It is usually packed ass hell on the weekends but me and my bf usually manage to get seating quickly. I have never had bad service here . I did have a hard time with one of the waitresses there once because she couldn't get my drink right . Other than that my visits have been enjoyable . I will continue to come here . thanks read more

worst experience ever! we walk in and sit at the bar, the bartender is taking a to go and the person on the phone is ordering the menu! so she turns to a server and says can you give them all menus. so she proceeds to the 2 white men that were next to us, totally skips myself and my hubby and goes to the white couple that just walked in. the two men were just flabbergasted as we were. i said so i guess we're invisible... this was si uncalled for! because we are hispanic we get passed over! my money isn't green enough! i spoke with the manager and she was so young and green she didn't know what to say but i want to serve you. no thank you! i will never spend my money at a place that allows their employees to behave this way! deplorable!!! read more

This is my families current favorite, with their variety of delicious homey and trendy favorite foods, people of all ages seem to find something to their liking. Havent had a dish we didnt like there yet, and we all take turns trying out different ones to test them all. Try their honey buttered croisants, they are to die for. Great service even for a Saturday night. Our waiter was fast, friendly, and quick with the refills and taking away empty dishes. Food was standard, nothing spectacular. We love it here. My friend I get the same thing every time and it's so filling and the prices are good. 2 big bowls of soup, an appetizer and 2 decent size salads and we make it out of there for under $20, not including the tip of course! The service is always good and when I call in my to go food it's ready quick. The only reason I give it four stars is because if you offer to go you should have somewhere to pick it up other than the bar. The bar is always super busy and you have to squeeze between the people drinking and avoid tripping the wait staff. read more

We went here tonight for a birthday dinner for my niece. The food was so good! I had the chicken fried chicken and it was excellent! The waiter was so nice. Made my, first ever, stop at Cheddars this 12/29/12 at 11:15AM. This place looked great, a multi-million dollar restaurant, all new. The insides looked great, 75% of the sitting area seemed to be booths, great just what we liked. When sitting, I quickly notice the booth-bench-heigth was a little too low as to the table height, ok we made do. After placing the order, two hamburger plates on with a soda drink, and one chefs chicken salad, I took a look around of this new place. It was quite nice, but the bar area reeked of sour booze aroma, glad we didn't sit close to that area. Bar personal were cleaning at area. I wondered why the cleaning of such area didn't take place at closing hours, not at the start of next days' lunch hour. Our meal arrived shortly and it looked good. I looked at that Chicken salad and said to myself, I'm getting that next time. The hamburgers were served on large thick white ceramic plates. I started on those fries and hamburger. Taste great, like homemade. Hamburger meat was warm, could of been warmer, for this cold winter day, and those fries, great, but also only warm, nothing better than hot-hot fries. I just about halfway finish, when i notice, the food was getting cold. I mean, not cooling off, cold. I finish, and I'm a fast eater, with a cold bite of hamburger and couldn't finish those fries. Then, I came to realize it was those nice large 'cold' ceramic plates pulling the heat out of the fries and hamburger, I've seen this before. On leaving, I let Ms Payne, the GM, about the problem of 'cold ceramic plates' results in cold food; lets heat-up those plates when serving hot food. read more

The food is pretty great for the money you pay. The only bad thing is that sometimes the service or waitors could be better. I walked and sat down and not kidding waited for about 30 minutes until someone came to my table. (Thats because i got up myself to request a manager) After that service flowed and they even gave us a complimentary appetizer. Can't remember the lady server there but we loved the service she gave us. Said she was the oldest server there but I didn't care she made us feel like her only customers because of the speed and dedication she put in for us. Food was super great and could not wait to get home to eat the leftovers. I like the look of this restaurant and the price was perfect for our budget. The burgers and steaks there are great! We always top of dinner with a monster cookie for dessert! The cocktails have all been great so far. Top shelf margarita is great. My kids are picky eaters but even they like it there. Been there a few times now. I don't recommend the baked spasagna. It's always packed at this location but the wait has always been worth it. Staff is usually quick and courteous. The prices are very reasonable considering the great portion sizes and great taste. My fiancé and I came in today because we were craving specific things and it was a huge let down. We were seated in the bar area and even though there was hardly anyone else seated in there, it took forever to even be greeted. When we finally were greeted the server talked so fast I couldn't even tell what he was saying. He brought us our appetizer (spinach dip w/ salsa) and when he put it on the table the salsa spilled everywhere and he just walked off not even acknowledging it when I know for sure he saw it happen. Then he brings our main food out and he literally walks right past our table and give it to the table behind us. He put it down in front of them and everything and it wasn't until the customers said it wasn't even their food that he realized he messed up. My fiancé got a steak and midway through our meal our server walked by and just took the A-1 sauce my fiancé was using and didn't even really acknowledge it. I also never got a refill on my drink because right after we got our food he brought us our check (even though we had alcohol nor did we ask for the check) so after we cashed out he never came back. We were planning on staying and ordering more but we felt very unwanted and clearly our server wasn't paying attention to us at all. read more

My husband and I love this place! There is always great service. We try to go before the dinner rush to avoid a wait. Even when we have to wait it is very quick. The atmosphere is just peaceful and warm like home. The hostess was a bit unorganized but we still were seated quickly, as long as you are not picky about your seat. The mango tea is just delicious. I drank about four glasses of tea, my server gave great recommendations. My husband loved the onion rings because it is like a mountain. Good food at a good price but terrible experience with Brian the manager; don't even care to go back for fear of running into the dufus! And we used to go there at least 2 Sunday's a month after church but there are just too many restaurants to eat at and have a BAD manager! And this is after a nice manager went through a lot of trouble for me and I tipped the waitress 200%! And once you lose a customer it's hard to get them back. My girlfriend and I go to Cheddar Webster often and love it. We decided to try this location and was utterly shocked with the dirtiness of this restaurant. Upon entering the bar area there were several plates and used glasses stacked on and behind the bar. As I searched for a table at minimum 5 tables and 3 high tables still had dirty dishes from previous guest. It looked a mess. So I went to use the restroom and trash was overflowing in 3 different stalls and the trash can by the door. Feminine product bins were also overflowing. I immediately went to the bar and told the bartender the restrooms need to be attend to because they were filthy. She tells me they are short handed and had the same problem yesterday. I explained that it is unacceptable for a restaurant to present in this manner and that even the tables weren't being bussed. I was ready to leave but my friend was willing to give them a chance. Reluctantly we ordered food and had a decently long wait but no biggie they were a bit busy. I finally get my food and it looks like it had been sitting under the heat lamp so the lettuce was wilted and the chicken was dry. The plate even looked dirty. My girlfriend got her chicken tenders which were dry and her croissants had TWO long strands of hair on them. So the manager Doug comes over and I tell him all of the above and he seemed a nonchalant about our experience just stating this is a busy time for them. So they sent out new croissants and a new salad. The only thing we enjoyed was the Sangria. To top it off the only accommodation the manager made was to offer us a free dessert. We declined because we rather not continue to eat food from a filthy establishment. He didn't even remove the croissants from my friends tab. She couldn't even eat the new ones because of the thought of the hair being on the others. I felt our food should have received some sort of discount but I guess we were just some complaining customers. I will never return to this location.
