I picked a good time to get back into eating at OBS. They had some new stuff that I saw on a commercial and was like 'sure why not'. For my birthday I wanted a takeout meal from here to kind of test the waters. It turned out pretty well. We called in the order, employee was attentive and took my order. They said it would be like 15-20 minutes and it came out in that time. Grab and go. Parking lot was kinda packed but clean There was no complaints on service. When I got home everything was in the bag despite it being a busy Friday night. The food was good. I honestly wasn't expecting that. The last time my family ate at an outback was almost 10 years ago? It wasn't bad. Nothing like that but it wasn't OMG. Houston metro being so huge and big about it's food, there's more exciting choices especially for chain steakhouses. But i will say this is the first time i got food from here TO-GO & i like what I see. Most places it looks like a gross imitation of what it's suppose to be when you dine-in. (I hate that ish with a passion: The presentation looks like you're punishing me for being too busy to eat in, so you throw things together & forget stuff like it's fast food.) We went to Outback in Pasadena the other day and our server Jackie was amazing. Our food came out really fast and it was delicious. She made sure I got my reward points as well. The Manager, Angelique came by our table a couple of times checking on us. She was very friendly and I even got to thank my cook, Brayden for making my steak. He was funny and very nice. They all were super polite and made sure we were happy so we would come back. The restaurant was clean and food super good! The staff took great care of you. I will definitely go back. Had dinner there last night. The service was really great all the way through let me say that we've traditionally enjoyed our meals at Outback. To start the homemade bread and whipped butter was divine! The pecan bleu cheese salad is always a favorite. For our main plates my sister ordered a medium strip with mac & cheese and I ordered a medium rare strip with Brussels sprouts. Her steak was so tough she couldn't chew it enough to swallow even one bite. Her macaroni was dry and tasteless. My steak was also tough but eatable despite having a bark on it made of seared pepper. Spicy! And that's saying something since I love spicy. I ate my steak. The sprouts were cut into too large of bites and were undercooked and really hard to chew or swallow but I did my best on about half. Our waitress got the manager who was SUPER nice. He asked all the right questions and offered to comp and replace the food for take home even including dessert which we'd not ordered. We weren't there to gouge so we declined only asking not to pay for my sister's steak and mac. I paid the remainder of the bill and left a tip for what would have been the whole tab. Just as we left the manager brought a take home bag with 2 salads and a new steak. That is the way to handle a complaint! I'm giving 4 stars for a 2 star meal because management made ever effort to make things right! read more

Just got back from this place; had eaten there a couple years ago. Wasn't great then; much worse, now. Wife and I both had the same thing; 6 oz sirloin with lobster tail, baked potato and house salad. Wife pulls her lobster out of the shell, and asks me if it's cooked. I took a bite of mine, and it wasn't. You could look at it and tell it was half raw. Sirloin was extremely gristly. I took two bites and was done with it. Wife got through hers, but not the least impressed. Worst baked potatos ever, for both of us. On top of that, each meal was $2 more than their website stated. We even asked for more silverware and the same issue it was disgusting. We brought my family for lunch and our waiter was awful we never got any refills, we were completely ignored it seemed like. Over the years, I've been to quite a few Outback Steakhouses in the Houston area. The most recent was this one located in a hip shopping center with several other restaurants. I've stopped by for dinner twice on a Tuesday. I was first introduced to this location through a Yelp Elite event. While Outback is a chain, it is one of my favorites. I don't know if it's due to my fascination with Australian accents. Or if it's due to the warm complimentary dark bread and butter that they start you off with. Or if it's the menu selections including the infamous and often replicated Bloomin' Onion. Probably a mix of all of the above. I've experienced good service both times so it seems like the manager has hired a good team and has trained them well. On my last visit, we started off with the Bloomin' Onion which is an appetizer but could easily be a meal in itself. The Bloomin' Onion is a legend. From there, I went with another appetizer, the mac & cheese balls. This was a bit of a miss in my book because it had a sharp cheese which I didn't enjoy. As much as I enjoy local eateries, there are still a few restaurant franchises I really enjoy eating at. This place is one of them. Of course there are a ton of Outback Steakhouse within Houston, but what made this location extremely special, was the friendly staff and the general manager, Ryan. Everything I had here was cooked perfectly and tasted better than what I remembered from my previous visits. Kudos to the head chef for doing such an amazing job with the food. My favorite entree was the Outback center-cut sirloin topped with butter and roasted garlic and served with their signature baked potato and coconut shrimp. My favorite signature cocktail was the Aussie Rum Punch, which came with Mount Gay Rum, Malibu Coconut Rum, fresh lime, mango and cranberry juice. For dessert, the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under came with a gluten-free pecan brownie topped with a rich vanilla ice cream, which was also topped with a warm chocolate sauce, chocolate shavings and whipped cream. This is my second time coming to the Outback Steakhouse in Pasadena and I have been throughly pleased at both visits. Experience/Customer Service: As soon as I entered the outside doors, there was a hostess at the inner doors holding it open and greeting us. We were seated promptly and quickly (this was around 5pm on a Friday). The waiter was very friendly and check in on our table several times. Even the young man who delivered our food was nice. He offered my daughter some honey butter with cinnamon to try with the bread and she loved it. About halfway through our meal, the manager on duty stopped by our table, introduced herself and asked now we were enjoying our dinner/service. I had seen her early at another table and assumed she was the waitress. It great to have all levels of employees on. The floor making sure the guest were enjoying themselves. The food: The daughter got the cheeseburger kids meal. The burger was much bigger than I expected it to be for a kids meal. The burger was actually quite delicious. I ordered the center cut sirloin with the endless shrimp, mac & cheese, & asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. I preferred the battered shrimp over the garlic butter shrimp. But my husband preferred the garlic butter shrimp over the battered shrimp. So you would have to decide that one for yourself. My husband had the filet mignon with steamed veggies and mashed potatoes. The filet was amazing!!! Even my daughter preferred the filet to my sirloin. I was in the mood for steak so I wondered over to this Outback while in Houston. I ordered the ribeye with extra seasoning and blackened. The house salad was good, but I was looking forward to that 12oz steak. It arrived and I was unimpressed with the presentation. No garnish and did not appear to have those extra seasonings I ordered. We tried this place on Saturday night. The wait was about 25-30 minutes which isn't bad for a busy night. This location is new so this was our first time dining here. Although I have been to an Outback Steakhouse before, it has been many years. I wasn't super hungry so I decided to get the French Onion soup. It was perfection. It was rich and flavorful. And the melted cheese on top? Yum!! My boyfriend ordered a Sirloin steak with grilled shrimp plus a baked potato and the mac and cheese. Their mac and cheese was seriously out-of-this-world!! It was so cheesy. I love when they put breadcrumbs on top too. I have to say that might be one of my favorite mac and cheese recipes ever. I ate so much of that, so I couldn't finish my soup. My boyfriend ordered his steak medium-well. There was a nice sear on the outside of it. And it appears it was cooked perfectly. The grilled shrimp were very good too. They do allow for call ahead seating. This was really nice since we were a party of 10. Restrooms needed attention. They were clean but 2 of the 3 bathroom stalls didn't have any toilet paper. The mixed drink were good. Several of our meat temperatures were way off. I ordered medium and the fillet mignon was medium well. My friend ordered a different cut of meat and wanted medium well and hers came out medium. Worst thing was my other friend ordered the exact same thing as me (fillet mignon cooked medium) and hers was raw. When she sent it back, the waitress did try to fix it, but the manager should have made his/her way to the table and did not. read more

I've been to this Outback four times. First and second time were ok. 3rd time we waited at the hostess stand no one helped us. So we walked out. But the 4th time was horrible. We used to eat at Outback Steakhouse in Pasadena quite often. For the past 2-3 years (since the beginning of the COVID pandemic), I have been ordering online and using their curbside pickup feature. The food is usually delicious BUT there is nothing more irritating than getting home with your order to find that it is not complete, with them failing to give us one or more of our items ordered, which happened on our last order about six months ago. We said never again! Today, we decided to give them another chance and placed another online order for curbside pickup. When we went to pick it up, we texted that we were there and our spot number. After waiting 10-15 minutes, my husband went inside to find our bag just sitting there on the counter. When we arrived home and I was giving everyone their order, we realized they had failed to give us two of our side orders, one being asparagus that we had to pay extra for. So, hubby drives all the way back to the restaurant to get our missing side orders. When he gets home and opens his prime rib sandwich, he realizes that they failed to give him the horseradish sauce and the au jus sauce that comes with the sandwich. I'm tired of spending close to $100 for these meals, and they can't even check them to make sure everything is included when they are packing up our order. We are not the type to ask for anything free, but you would think they would have at least offered a free dessert or something for my husband having to make two trips over there! Goodbye Outback. Easily sat at a table this Saturday evening, though it did pick up quite a bit as the night wore on. Our server was very friendly and helpful, though it would have been nice to be offered more bread. We got the coconut shrimp and the tilapia along with a side salad and mashed potatoes. The salad wasn't really worth it as it's not far off from bagged salad, but the veggies were much needed. There were next to no veggies in the other dishes. Potatoes were creamy and nicely seasoned, and the shrimp had a nice crunch to it. There just weren't that many. The tilapia had lump crab on top but it was so heavily salted and cooked down that I couldn't taste it. The tilapia was a little overcooked and rubbery, and it was almost like they used steak seasoning on the fish. For the prices, I would have expected either larger portions or higher quality. Before you give me a "how could you?!" evil eye, let me explain. I only went to a chain restaurant because we planned on checking out a movie (The Love Guru) at the adjacent theater. So, moving along... My first thought was, "This place stinks." That's because, well, the place literally stunk. It was a mixture of dirty diapers, vom and the bleach used to try and cover it up. But we're troopers, so we manned up and grabbed a seat at the bar to check out the 'Stros game. I wasn't too hungry due to my prior feast at El Jardin, but I sure was thirsty--so, I ordered a bottle, yes, a bottle, of wine. We opted for some Shiraz since my date had his eyes set on a 16 oz steak. (16 oz? I know! When the server dropped his order down, the tatted up fellas next to me said, "God damn!" My thoughts? "Wuss.") I have to say the bartender seemed a bit overwhelmed, though there were no more than 10 people hanging out at the bar. It took her some time to get our order ... but she seemed young and sweet, so no need to complain much about it. The app menu was kinda short. We ordered the skrimp on the barbie (6 or so skrimps, seasoned and buttered over a plank of bread and served with a tangy, mayonnaise-like dressing for dipping). My date's steak was a bit over-seasoned, but, I've had his steaks before, and those, to me, lacked flavor. So I wouldn't trust his opinion. As always, the garlic mashed potatoes were yum. (Really, can you ever screw up mashed potatoes?) As for my wine, let's just say we didn't make the movie and instead opted to continue drinking our sorrows away at a local bar. read more

I've eaten at this new location twice now. But times the ambiance is always nice and the servers kind and attentive. But I have two complaints that will keep me from coming back: 1.) The lights hanging down above the booths are one foot too high. I don't think anyone from Outback has actually ever sat in their booths. If they had they would have been BLINDED by the abrasive lighting and immediately adjusted the height of the fixtures. They must either lower the fixtures or dim them, preferably BOTH. 2.) The food is absolutely.....adequate. There are many places to get better food at a lower price. My father has the runs this morning after his steak. His steak was also all fat. And he, 'is concerned that even giving it to the dog would be a bad idea.' I've resolved to never eat the fried mushrooms again (simply because they were perfectly 'meh' and if I'm going to waste my carbs I'd rather waste them on a solid bet). And our friend gave all her food away last night (shrimp). I've come home with a to-go box of her food, which I won't eat. It's chain restaurants at their worst. If you want steak spend the money and go somewhere that doesn't feel like an assembly line of corporate food. read more
