Because our apps didn't come out on time until close to our entrees coming out. The food was warm not hot and spinach dip had definitely cooled by then. Didn't taste good. The croissants were *chefs kiss* as usual. Everyone enjoyed their entrées. I sampled a little from everyone. They all made good choices but me. (0/10) do not recommend the grilled pork chops. Came out dry. Looked good. But very dry. Didn't end up taking any of the leftovers home. Decided to eat off everyone else's plate. Lol. We had to wait an extra 10 mins after our entrees arrived because someone asked for mushrooms and onions added to their steak. And nothing was added. They forgot. It's been a long time since we have dined here. We came in for a late lunch. To start, when we came into the restaurant, the Hostess not once smiled or said welcome to Cheddars or how are we doing, nothing! We asked to be seated in the bar area at a high top table. A young lady (not our server) promptly plopped down a basket containing two honey buttered croissants without uttering a word! Keep in mind that this place wasn't super busy at all. We waited between 5-10 minutes for a server to get to our table. She was very nice. Our food was served hot and delicious. I ordered a cheeseburger with blue cheese and an order of Onion Rings that was awesome. Hubby had their Chicken Pot Pie with a salad that was enough for two people, which also was very delicious. We have been several times in the past few months. even ordering family meals for pick up A few things : Service is spotty, there are a few that are not good and leave you waiting forever to order, the food is not always consistent different portion sizes especially of the salmon. when two people order the same thing it should look the same. but it did not. the cooking temp of the steak is always a little over cooked over all the food is decent and affordable and the managers are good to correct when things come out wrong Their app are our favorite the cheese bits are the star warm and soft but so cheesey A very family friendly casual place for small group and dinner or brunch. read more

First time here and I heard lots of good things. Came with some friends for a late lunch. No wait and we sat right down. The menu options all looked great. I was most impressed with the starters - the spinach dip was delicious as well as the Wisconsin cheese bites and I cannot forget about the star which were the warm/soft/buttery croissants! For my meal, I ordered the ribs and tenders. I got two sides with it. The ribs were good but they were kind of dry. The mashed potatoes that I ordered were just okay, also kind of dry. The broccoli casserole was delicious but I will also say they were a bit dry too. It's like these items were not as fresh as I would expect them to be. Was way too cold up in there to be enjoyable. 66 degrees!!!!!...you can always tell when the cooks run the show. Thank God I had a hoodie in the car. So, no refills today, not one in the hour we waited for lunch. No refills ...even though we asked. Old cold coffee, well, lukewarm. And no spoons, neither for the coffee nor the pot pie; even though the waiter said he'd bring them, he never did. Chicken was rubbery. This place sort of sucks. I don't know why my dad likes them, but whatever. Baby Boomers love these places. I would have stopped coming here from the raw chicken I got a couple years back or after fish juice poured out of the fish sticks and the manager tried to normalize it. Umn, no. My friend and I dined at the bar. We usually opt to sit at the bar as it's more casual and there's ample amount of space. We sat down and we were immediately greeted by the bar tender. We put in an order of onion rings, which we were so happy to see that they're back on the menu. The bartender asked if we wanted croissants, which are free. The croissants were tasty, but they weren't warm and it seemed like they might have been sitting out for a while. It took a little while before the bar tender took our order. We ordered drinks and Buffalo chicken wraps. It also took a while for the onion rings to come out but they were delicious. The batter was thicker than I remember, but they were crunchy and fried to perfection. The dipping sauces are the same as they used to be and they were so good. Our wraps were good, but they weren't rolled well and they were falling apart. They did still taste great and Cheddar's also has the best ranch. It's also very reasonable. We had two drinks, an appetizer and two entrees, and our total was $52. Overall, it was a typical Cheddar's experience. There are just some things they can improve on. read more

I have never been a big fan of Cheddar's. I have only been there twice, but I decided to give it another try after failing to make a decision about dinner options. The restaurant's decor is pretty, it has this huge fans in the ceiling that are in themed with the wood and stone decor. Your meal starts with a complimentary honey butter croissant. For an appetizer, we had the Santa Fe Spinach Dip. We had chicken tenders with fries, coleslaw, and New Orleans Pasta for our meal. My husband liked his pasta. The chicken tenders portion is massive. Similar to Olive Garden, this restaurant has a device on the table where you can play games (for a charge), pay your bill, and call your server. I find this convenient if you don't want to wait for your server. My experience at Cheddar's wasn't bad, however, wasn't impressed. I remembered why I hadn't been there in years. It's not a place I see myself frequenting often, but it might be worth a visit if you're in the mood for some comfort food. read more

Always a good spot for comfort food. We went tonight for a late Mother's Day celebration. They were not very busy tonight but the service was not all that great. Took a long time for the food to come out and then two of the items were missing items. Other than that the food was pretty tasty. This won't stop us from going back though. Always a good spot to stop! Recently I met up with a friend of lunch/dinner. We found out it was still lunch time so we ordered our meals and some drinks. Can never go wrong with a painkiller!! Always my drink of choice. My friend also needed to place a top go order and literally caught our waitress right at the minute it ended, and she rushed and got it in! That was service right there! I ordered a chicken sandwhich which isnt usually a go to for me but it was on the lunch menu and it was pretty tasty. The side I ordered a salad and there salads are always good too. The raspberry lemonade was weak with maybe a hint of raspberry flavor. The crescents were not warm but still good. All of the other food was great! That consisted of beer battered fish and shrimp, bourbon glazed salmon and shrimp, and candied pecan chicken salad, All of the sides were very good as well. Very unfortunate that we assumed all Cheddar's would be good (definitely not this one on Rinehart Rd). The Caesar salad had only the very darkest part of the romaine and mine had all stems. I was not going to ask for another- and I was hoping the reminder of our order would be awesome like the East Colonial & Semoran locations are - but sadly not. I have been to Cheddar's before in Orlando but we tried this one in Sanford after a day of bar hopping out there. As you walked in the staff greeted us and sat us down. The place did not seem busy at all and it was dimly lit with a whole section for our party. Our waitress was very nice and took our drink and food orders, always asking if we needed anything. Unfortunately for some reason the bar was very slow with making the drinks and the food took a while to come out between our appetizers and entrees. But when the food and drink did arrive they were fantastic! The old fashion with Jim Beam was only $5! Can't beat that and their chicken tenders are always perfect, even the steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked the way I like it. I don't come here often but sometimes for dinner with friends. The staff are always friendly. The restaurant itself is really nice, I like the atmosphere. We started with the honey butter croissants which are always good. I love that they give these out for free once you sit down. My boyfriend got the Buffalo Chicken wrap like he always does. It was really good and a good amount of food. We usually never have leftovers but this time we did. I got the chicken tender platter. The tenders were good and I really liked the honey hot sauce. The ranch here is also really good. I feel like the cole slaw is a good side for cooling off after one of the honey hot tenders. The French fries were great and it was a good portion. Food was ok, desert and drinks were great! Service was ok, as I asked for medium well and midway through my T-bone steak, it was more on the medium rare side. Had to send it back to be recooked and even after getting it back it was more like a medium. Rice and beans was more on the wet side. Perhaps because there was more beans than rice, IMO. Server was great, very attentive and courteous. A little disappointed that this second visit to this chain and first visit to this location didn't meet my previous visit's expectations. Not sure what went wrong here but would think this chain has standards in terms of cooking times per items, specifically the meat or poultry areas. Overall, pricing is reasonable, I'd say $$-$$$ range. Would come back and visit again to see if it's just a one day matter or an everyday occurrence. Yes, I'd still recommend this chain as their menu is plenty to choose from and their seating and hospitality is top notch. Hoping for a better service in the near future. I am a big Cheddar's fan so was glad to find one not too far from home. I'm not sure if is because of social distancing, or they were short staffed, but for a party of two they gave us a pager and said it would be about a 25 minute wait. There were only about 25% of the tables filled. Asked if we could sit at the bar and they also said that we could not as they didn't have room, which the bar was also not even a third of the way full. It ended up only being about a 10 minute wait so that was good. Server was friendly and attentive. Food was good, although I would not get the steak again as it was a little too peppery. All meals are made from scratch, as implied and the same homely vibe exists here just as any modern chain like this goes. My friend was visiting from the Bahamas and we decided to check out Cheddar's in Sanford. As soon as we walked in we were seated at a table. No wait whatsoever, I am guessing it is because we were a small party. The one thing I love the most is that it's a scratch kitchen.
