Burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice, shame on me. ..... After having a terrible experience with the 'frozen' chicken fried steak and my just 'eh' chicken sandwich, we thought we would get it another try since we really don't have a ton to choose from having little kiddos. We were ecstatic that on St. Patrick's Day we got seated less than 5 minutes! THAT WAS THE END OF IT BEING GOOD. Took forever to get our drink order, we asked for napkins for the sprite that my toddler knocked over, which he forgot. Granted, it is not his fault she wanted to put her fingers into the styrofoam and make a sprite fountain but after neglecting the napkins, we asked a second time and we got a "I'm sorry, I thought I brought you some!" OK, benefit of the doubt... It's sad when you look at the menu and 1st: nothing appeals to you and 2nd: you think to yourself, what can they NOT screw up?! Ok, so we ordered the Chicken Salad and Chicken Strip and Shrimp dinner. You can't screw up simple fried food... We were right, it didn't taste bad, but nothing spectacular (you get what you pay for). The worst part about this visit was the waiter. It was busy but not too busy for the other waiters/waitresses to please their customers. I took the kids out to the car to wait for my hubby to pay since they were getting cranky. He came out 30 minutes later saying that after he asked for two to-go boxes, he got one, and waited for another one after being told "oh, I thought I brought you one" again and then after getting the bill, he had to track the waiter down to get a pen to sign the bill! Food is always consistent. We ordered an entree with a salad before our meal. It took over 20 min for just the salads to come out. Dijon mushroom and chicken entree is really good. Chocolate cake a must. Just have a lot of time because service is very slow and non existent! I would love to give more stars because it's very good and reasonable in price but service is horrible read more

Cheddars has turned into our go to restaurant lately because its affordable and they have something for everyone. Lunch specials include half a sandwich, soup, and/or salad for around $7. I like their Monte Cristo, it's one of the best places to get it after Bennigans closed. Portions are huge and everything is really good. Service is hit or miss but the past few visits have been awesome! The specialty drinks are potent and around $6 most are limited to 2 drinks per person. We love to get the sampler appetizer with cheese curds and chicken tenders. The croissants with honey butter are amazing, the best around! It's a great place for big groups. Sometimes the restaurant is too hot like today in the back indoor patio seating, I cant eat alot when I get too hot but it's better for my waist line lol. My kids like the mac and cheese, chicken tenders, and burger. They also love the fish tanks. My dad like the Asian salad, they put alot of chicken and shrimp in it and it's delicious. Nice casual restaurant with good basic food. Usually their is a wait time to be seated, however if you are in a hurry and a small group you can always eat at the bar. Wait staff is very friendly and helpful. Awesome chicken pot pie. read more

We finally made to Cheddar's after the 3rd try. The 1st two times they where so busy there was 40+ minute wait. Once we finally got in 3:15pm on a Saturday, the place was unexpectedly nice inside. we still waited 15 minutes to be seated. When they tried to seat us next to a party with 5 kids under 6 years of age, they where nice when we asked to be someplace else. Our server was decent but had no personally, and did not converse other than to take our order. But the service was ok. We waited another 20mins for our food to come out. I had the smokehouse burger which was only $5.49 plus a $1.69 for the onion straws so it was very cheap. the burger was good, over cooked a little for me. i like a nice pink in it and it was cooked all the way through. Was it Five Guys or In-N-Out burger no but it was tasty. My girl had the Tilapia which was just ok for her as well. she enjoyed the sides more than the fish. All in all it was a above average meal. i can see by the prices on the menu why this place is so packed. We'll go back and try some of the other things on the menu. I recommend going on the week nights around 4-5pm the lines are much less. read more

I love their food. Unfortunately, they have an additional charge for each item you order to go. I understand 1 additional charge, but EVERY item having an additional charge is outrageous. When I told them I would be ordering from somewhere else, the response I received was, "ok" . I don't have time to sit and be served at lunch during the lunch rush. I am a very nice person. Now what Cheddar's offers should be the standard and expectation for other restaurants as far as price,portion size and service. I will start off with the price. It is so nice to see that a restaurant is willing to not overcharge its guests for many things that would otherwise be 9.50 and up at some of the other fast casual restaurants out there. At 3.99 for the chips and queso with a free upgrade of beef added is unbelievable but true. Might I mention it also comes with salsa that is actually quite good. It is quite (red) lol might I add. I ordered a philly cheesesteak sandwich with the red beans and rice, my wife ordered the chicken fried chicken and our little one ordered the grilled cheese. Each and every portion was adequate. Our server suggested that my wife order the lunch portion on the chicken fried chicken because it was pretty big, we agreed. My philly was a good 9-10 ounces with the bun with lots of cheese and peppers, the philly from another restaurant is blown away by the one here by price at 9.99 and portion which seemed like a kid sub at subway. Finally the service was great. Our server Fallon was great she was very thorough and nice. She followed up and she wasn't overbearing like a lot of waitstaff are trained to do nowadays. In conclusion you will get a great tasting meal at a great value with good to great service. read more

Went to cheddar's as a change-of-pace. Will forever be impressed with the value for money you get when you eat here. Ordered the New Orleans pasta, wife ordered the dijon chicken and mushrooms. Both were good, and in portions large enough for 2 meals. It's super family friendly, which means it's noisey and the waitstaff and overly friendly. So if you can put up with that, it's all good. This is really more of a 3 star review, but again, the value for money is unparalleled. read more

What can I say about Cheddar's that hasn't already been said? We went on a Friday night and the place was packed, but we still got a table in about 10 minutes, and there is a bar you can wait in with plenty of room. Their drink prices are cheaper than most bars here. I got a pomegranate margarita that was off the chain - highly recommended! I got the half-rack of ribs, a perfect portion size that didn't break the budget, and the meat was juicy and fell off the bone perfectly, and it was nice to get steamed veggies with my meal instead of something starchy or greasy. Typical Cheddar's - decent food, generous portions, great price. Those honey butter croissants are SOOOO good. Tried the new Shepherd's Pie - big failure. It was a large dish of ground beef and frozen vegetable medley mix with a large scoop of mashed potatoes on top, not very good. I came here with a large group of people and it took about 5 rounds of leaving to get more food and then coming back which made the wait more agonizing because everyone around you is already eating. hahaha. by the time i got my food (chicken tenders and fries) i was hungry but i could not even finish half of it. the serving is way too large for one person. it is probably a serving fit for probably 4 people... so that was odd. anyway, cheddars has good food. nothing special for my taste... it is a bit overrated read more

This place is great as soon as you walk in. The huge fish tank, skylight and decorative fan make for nice ambiance. I got the salmon and it was fantastic. I picked the bourbon one and the sauce was not to spicy but had some kick. The lunch portion was plenty big enough. It comes on rice which was good, then you pick two sides. The macaroni was creamy shells with crunchy crumbles on top. I really enjoyed this meal and I can't wait to come back. Highly recommend! read more

I got the new Orleans pasta, it had just the right amount of all meat and shrimp, and had good spicy flavor! Absolutely horrible experience. Dirty tables everywhere and 50 people waiting to be seated yet there are employees either standing around doing absolutely nothing or sitting in booths laughing and cutting it up. No respect for customers needing to be seated. Was told a 10-15 min wait but it's now been 30 min. What a joke! read more

By far the worse Cheddar's I have ever visited! My family love Cheddar's and usually go twice a month for dinner after visiting the Space Center we meet up with some family members for lunch! We ordered chili cheese fries, spinach dip, two kids meals , salad, a mushroom burger, and chicken fried steak! The spinach dip had absolutely no taste at all now sure how they achieved that! My husband chicken fried steak was bland as well no one finished their food and the next day 4 out of the 6ppl that ate had gotten food poison and two were hospitalized for dehydration! The hospital called Cheddar's to see if any other complaints of gastrointestinal illnesses were reported! Needless to say Cheddar's is no longer on our family dinner list! read more

I ordered to go and was told it will be ready in 20mins. I get there, and it's not ready. I saw like 3 waiters just standing and not really doing anything but playing around. I get home and the order was wrong. We were missing sides, and we got the wrong sides. This was after the staff had double checked it for me. The chicken fried steak was tough to eat. The loaded baked potato did have any of toppings, just a regular potato. I'm glad I had butter at home, otherwise I'd be eating a dry potato. I love the aquarium & the unique ceiling fans. My favorite menu item is the vegetable plate. Everything tastes great!

It's for sure a decent place for the price. We went there to celebrate our anniversary and they were just opening up. Not too busy but it does pick up. The waiter was good but I guess a little slow. The prices are reasonable and I cannot complain about that. The cornmeal catfish is good but it would be better if it had seasoning. Not a big fan of the green beans. Lastly I meant to say this a while ago, the Texas Tea they have where they can only serve you two of, it's not so strong that they can only give you two. Unless you're giving it to a 21 year old who never drank before, the drink is actually weak. read more

Went to eat here tonight with the family. My cousin ordered a certain drink and later on the Manager for the night Torrik came to our table and explained to us they were out of the alcohol used for that specific drink. He apologized and offered my cousin another similar drink and it was AMAZING! Then we found a hair in one of the entrees, Torrik once again came over and apologized asssuring us the kitchen crew all wear hair nets but unfortunately it does happen every now and then. We went here for the first time tonight. I figured it would be busy because it was a Friday night, but we were able to get seated immediately. Jewlian was a wonderful server. He was great about checking in and making sure everything was good. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. My husband loved his ribs and my Buffalo chicken wrapper was delicious as usual. I really want to like the service on the family dining area, but I'm sorry I'm going to have to keep going to the bar side. Our waiter was nice, but I don't know if he was attentive or paid attention to what we ordered. It was my mom's birthday and I wanted to take her out to dinner at a place she never been to, kind if embarrassing because I was raving about how good this place was. We came in at 5pm, it wasn't busy yet. Also red beans and rice (under cooked - rice was still hard). Oh boy do I love chedders, let's start with the service, our waiter was very fast and friendly, from exp a lot of waiters treat young folk as trash and give them bad customer exp, but I have never had this happen at chedders, great service.
