A bit disappointed! Just look at the photos! Not sure why they post a photo nothing like the real dish.

The food is always fantastic and Bill, our waiter, is always eager to please and is so kind and professional. We had a great time!

I enjoy eating here. The place is a good size, ready to accommodate multiple dinner parties. It has a very welcoming dining area. I'm glad that they are busy tonight with the popular movie playing at the theater. They'll stop by to say hello as always. The food is fresh here and I rotate the dishes I order when I visit. There's many wonderful options available on the menu and all tasty.

Great service and food! It is probably the best Chinese food you could get in the town of Moraga, and it is less than 5 minutes from Saint Mary's! The old man who served us was really sweet. I was not trying to spend any money and I actually didn't even know about this place, I just tagged along with a few friends that wanted to come. I didn't order anything myself because I'm saving money and didn't want to freeload, but the portions were big enough that my friends didn't finish their stuff so I just ate everything left, and it was a good amount! The dining room is kind of fancy, well anyway, nicer than what a typical college student goes to on a regular basis!

    Spicy eggplant chicken and vegetables

We tried this place for lunch for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. My wife ordered the lunch special with vegetables and requested to have tufu added, and I ordered the lunch special with spicy eggplant and chicken. Portions were large and we shared both dishes. They were both delicious. Lunch special came with a choice of soup, an egg roll, choice of rice, entree, and a fortune cookie. Good value for the price. We go to the 24 Hour Fitness next door and have seen this place many times, but have not tried it until today. We will definitely be back. Service was great and there is plenty of free parking.

Rainbow chicken (with crispy chicken), bbq pork fried rice, beef chow fun

We had a great time at this place. I loved the ambiance and the staff was so kind and helpful. It definitely has a classy vibe but it's acceptable to not be dressed up. We ordered the Rainbow Chicken, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, and Beef Chow Fun. The rainbow chicken was our favorite! Very tasty and we asked to substitute the chicken breast for the crispy chicken and our waiter was very accurate in getting that done. The bbq pork fried rice was also very tasty and I would order it again. Beef chow fun I would look somewhere else to eat this dish, it wasn't the most flavorful here. This is a great dinner spot and I would definitely come back to try more things!

This restaurant was so delicious!! Definitely a hidden gem, we will be back. The ambiance and atmosphere is great, it's beautiful inside. They have a large menu and the staff was very kind. Here are a few photos (after we started eating already). The sesame honey glazed chicken is NEXT LEVEL. It's crispy and sweet.

    "Onion pancake" - super greasy
    Courtney A.

Not impressed at all. Wonton soup was super over cooked. The wontons were soggy and I had scrap vegetables in it. 3 snap peas and 5 celery sticks. So disappointing. When I get wonton soup I look forward to the bok Choy and carrots. I was not so lucky this time. The spicy wontons were not spicy at all. They were super sweet and cold to boot. The onion pancake tasted like fried wonton wrapper. No onions or onion flavor at all. I do not recommend and I will not order again.

Not greasy, flavorful, China Palace is sure to have what you're looking for. The only "disappointing" thing was that they did not have the appetizer sampler available anymore and the calamari was not available at the time that we ordered. But not a super big deal. When I went in to pick up, they were just direct and straight to the point, which I think is what some people confused with being "rude" in some of the other reviews I read. But in reality, its just straight up. They did seem very grateful that I came in and ordered, so I will be back when that craving strikes again.

The service though... let's just say I can tell why everyone was taking their food to go. We were literally the only ones in the place besides the employees sitting in the dining area when we walked in. Greeted by a yell from across the room, "how many." The whole dinner, In our opinion we felt as if we were being yelled at, the hospitality here is well below average and definitely not inviting at all. Short high toned responses. We felt as if the employees were upset we decided to dine in :( Mind you it's our first experience here, apologies we're not aware of the unspoken code... eat here you won't get treated kindly, facts. The gratuity will be added though :)

We didn't have to wait for a table, but it was quite full for how many tables they have! They have both a good amount of outdoor seating and indoor seating. Ordering is done via a QR code on each table. I want to start out by saying that we were all hungry after a hike, so between the three of us, we shared: 1) Pig Ears & Cucumber w/ Chili Sauce: I love the crunchy, gelatinous feeling of biting into these. They're kinda refreshing since it's usually served cold with cucumber. I think they give a pretty good portion for this appetizer dish. 2) String Beans Sauteed w/ Garlic Sauce: Lots of garlic pieces mixed into these string beans! The beans weren't the most fresh. There were some stringy ones, but portion was also pretty generous and I usually like having these when I have dumplings! It's a nice pairing. 3) Shrimp, Egg, Chive Pockets (2): These are huge pockets and packed full of ingredients. The skin was thin, crispy, but just a tad oily. I love that they added so much chives into it. Although the skin fell apart pretty quickly - either because it's too heavy with ingredients or the ingredients were wet - I appreciate the thin skin more than a thick skin. 4) Juicy Pan-fried Pork Buns: These were my favorite. I haven't found a really good one around the Bay until I tried these. Usually the buns I get are either too thick-skinned, doesn't have good bun to pork ratio, or dry. These on the other hand, were pretty close to perfect. There was a lot of juice inside - I would say as much as the XLBs. The skin was still pretty thin on the top and not too dough-y on the bottom, but also had a nice crunch from being pan-fried. And the pork was nicely flavored! I would come back just for these. 5) Pork Xiao Long Bao: Also pretty good! Skin was thin and held a lot of juice! Pork was nicely flavored as well! But portion was smaller than most other restaurants I've been to. 6) Dumplings with Shrimp, Pork & Chive (10): These were also one of my favorites. They have their skin perfected - not too thick. Filling wise, this is one of my top go-to for filling, and it's hard to resist a good dumpling! We walked out with our bellies full and feeling great. I can't say there were much interaction with the servers since they were so busy, but would come back when I'm around the area!

The BBQ pork buns, shu mai, potstickers, and especially the turnip cakes were all super good. The combination fried rice was delicious, not oily at all, and the portion size was very generous. We also ordered the General Chicken, salt and pepper fish, mapo tofu, and Singapore noodles. We definitely ordered enough for very hungry people, and still had plenty left to take home. The space itself is very welcoming and open -- clean, comfortable, and not overly stuffy. The servers were attentive, friendly, and genuinely kind throughout the meal. Special shoutout to Vivian for letting us know what pepper was in the shakers because that crushed white pepper was seriously so tasty also for being so sweet, made our experience 20/10

They have the basics and then some, which is more than good with me! We went here recently for my dad's bday and another time two weeks later with just my husband and I. Ordered a few dim sum items but ordered off their main entree menu which we haven't done before. Here's what we ordered: Siu Mai - it was delish! This isn't always created equally. lol some places it almost looks like they served frozen store bought siu Mai, but this was legit! Honey walnut prawns - I'm obsessed with this!! It was perfectly cooked! Nice and crispy on the outside and the shrimp fully cooked on the inside. Fried shrimp dumpling: this is my go to at most dumplings sum places. It was delish! Chicken Crispy Noodles: this is the star of the show for me. Their pan fried noodles are perfect. It reminds me of a place I used to go to in sf when I was in middle school which is no longer there. The taste, texture of the noodles brought back memories! I know there are many iterations of pan fried Hong Kong style noodles, but those are also not created equally. This is a winner! Mapo tofu: this is hubby's favorite. We really enjoyed it and will definitely get it again! I'm not going to list everything we got, but I did put the ones that are my favs. Everything we ordered was amazing. What helps too is that the ladies that work here are all so friendly!
