Decided to check this place out after my morning run. I was greeted the moment I walked in which was very nice. The lady taking my order was very polite and made me feel welcomed. I decided to go with a smoothie for my drink and their Egg Soufflé. It took some time for the Egg soufflé to come out but the lady taking my order had let me know ahead of time. When I received my food it was definitely worth the wait. Everything was so delicious and well seasoned. I could have 100 more times. The smoothie was as equally refreshing. Great and cute cafe located in the middle of Coral Gables. Had to give it a shot with it's 4.5 stars and see what it's all about. Found it pretty quickly. There is a large parking lot right behind the cafe. You do have to pay for parking but the cafe is quick so no need to pay for 3 hours. Walked in and was greeted immediately by the server. She explained you order st the counter and then take a seat. Decided to go for the croque madame and a macchiato. Never had croque madame before. So thanks for popping that cherry! Coffee and my regular water came out quick. I sat on the counter although they have outside seating and many indoor tables. Perhaps not for a big group but maybe up to 6 people can come in. Got the croque madame. It was delicious. I don't know what it's supposed to taste like but it was great. Every time I cut into the bread some of the sauce would press out of the melted cheese on top of the bread. Sounds good? It was! The crust was crispy and the inside of the bread was soft. Topped with the egg I would dip the bread in. They had another croque entree which I want to try. For the road just because it looked so good I got the chocolate croissant. Delicious little spot in CG a little bit off Miracle Mile. A couple tables outside with a few more tables inside. Gives off a family run place. One of those places where everyone knows everyone and you hear a lot of "gracias a dios" and a fair amount of Spanglish The food is super fresh and tasty. What else can you ask for. read more

Really cute and cozy spot. I've only been twice for breakfast and really like it so far. I've tried the muffin egg sandwich which is delicious and filling. It comes loaded with ham, bacon, a fried egg and cheese. It's pretty big and definitely satisfying. Also had the croque madam and it's great! It's filled with ham and bechamel and topped with cheese and a fried egg. It's a large sandwich and made very well. They also have great coffee, smoothies, and juices. Thee lunch options look super yummy.... the service is fabulous ... very attentive and friendly. Service is also very quick so it's very convenient to stop by on the way to work. I was very excited to try this place out for breakfast. Here is a break down of the dishes me and my boyfriend tried, and restaurant atmosphere (with each rating). Food: Super Loaded Egg Muffin: this was the dish my boyfriend ate (Hello Pork!!) - it was loaded with bacon and ham. You can get the egg cooked any style! Overall, the dish was cooked and prepared to perfection! - 5 stars! Healthy Nuts Oatmeal: I loved it! I added fruits, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and green apples. I mean oatmeal, is just that, Oatmeal! But, the fruits were tremendously fresh and prepared to my liking. 5 stars! Belgian waffle: I had a couple of bites of the waffle alone, to really get the taste of it without any added helpers (syrup, Nutella, whipped cream). Again, freshness was there and it was just amazing tasting. Adding a little whipped cream, the waffle tasted even better. - 5 stars! Restaurant atmosphere: very clean establishment, the servers were extremely nice and the chef/owner even came to check on us, that was awesome! The only minor tweak that I believe would make this place hands down awesome is adding some type of pitcher of water to the tables upon a customers arrival. After our first glass of water - it was dry mouth city for sometime. There is also no bathrooms (we were told we had to walk outside and use the buildings restroom next door). Clearly nothing can be done about the restrooms because the layout is set. But getting a pitcher of water to the tables will free up sometime for the servers from going back and forth to the kitchen and the customers won't need to wait for their next glass. - 3 stars Prices: amazing and low! This place is so freaking cute! Imagine a french bistro with a Miami twist. Stopped by for a coffee and breakfast yesterday and was really pleased with the service and the food. Chef Sucre offers smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, salads and more. You order at the counter and they bring you the food to your table. It's a cute casual coffee shop vibe with simple dishes but quite delicious. I went with the farmer's breakfast which is two eggs, toast and bacon. You can add veggies or cheese which I did not, but regretted immediately when my tablemate did. Prices are super cheap too for a whole lot of food. Will definitely be back as I can walk on over and enjoy some delicious coffee and treats. read more

I have to say that I'm quite disappointed because I was really eager to try this place but after having called the restaurant three times and being placed on hold-It's quite disappointing. I understand that it might be a peak time that I called and extremely busy and being short staffed but I would have appreciated being told that at the beginning versus after having called several times. This place is located next to the gym that I just started going to and I did stop in for coffee yesterday as I love small cafes and bakeries but after finding out it is also a restaurant that serves hot dishes I was so excited to take my mom their the following day (today) that , now It's bittersweet. I sincerely hate giving poor reviews but I like to think of it as an opportunity for the establishment to see it as gaining feedback/a learning experience and to improve service for future patrons. The first attendant I spoke to over the phone honestly didn't seem to have the best attitude. I felt like I was brushed off, and he was very blasé about me ordering, and then put me on hold for a long amount of time. That is what left a bad taste in my mouth. After my mother tried calling from her number and was able to get through to someone, that attendant, a girl seemed much more empathetic and she did explain that they were short of staff and had a long line of people waiting to order. I being someone who works in hospitality and has for many years since I was 17, completely understand that and that in house orders may take precedence over to go orders...but here's the thing...by neglecting to take my to go order, I most likely won't be returning. I think the concept is great and the place itself is cutely decorated with a French/Latin Bistro feel but I would rather dine somewhere or order from a place I know that I would receive great service , even if it was only for to go orders which during the pandemic we ordered to-go a lot and it was done quickly and efficiently and with sincerity by the person who took our order. You know, customer service, though it maybe a transaction of goods or services over the phone, is still just as important as if it were done in person. What I suggest is that next time, it be stated that they are currently serving other customers or to call back at a later time than rather put somebody on hold for a really long time. It just looks really bad. Again I understand wholeheartedly about it being a peak time/lunch hour but maybe an online ordering system can be put in place or my order could have been taken very quickly and then inputted into the POS after, but because of this unfortunately I won't be returning as amazing as the food looked and as good as the coffee was that I had. There needs to be a much better process for the to go orders and I feel bad for the girl who has to take care of the in-house and to go orders especially if it's super busy. That is a lot for one person to handle so it's really not her fault, but management's :/ Still though the coffee I had yesterday after my boxing class was delicious and the girl who did attend to me yesterday was really sweet and made the coffee just right(hence three stars) but as far as to go service goes/ pick up orders, there's much that needs to be done about that. The food might be really good, but service (in terms of phone etiquette and to go orders)...not so much but I'm grateful for my coffee. It was a nice way to end my class. read more

Came here while being in the miracle mile area on a Wednesday early afternoon. I ordered the egg suffle and I loved it! That was my first time eating a suffle but it was nonetheless, delicious! It also came with tomatoes and a croissant. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I ordered the Nutella Belgian waffles with a side of fruits. YUMMY! Service was lovely & our coffee's were good but once we got home with our sandwiches, we were incredibly disappointed. The sandwiches looked great but ALL of the meats used (including the turkey), were completely processed. Nothing tasted natural. Instead, the bread was piled high with low-quality, slimy, cold cuts. I was NOT a fan especially since I recently reintroduced poultry to my diet & only want high quality, pasture raised & preferably organic meats. What a great spot!! The menu is great. Although I don't usually eat bread, I ordered the ham and cheese (didn't get that it was a sandwich!). I just took off the bread on top. It was sooooo good! So, full disclosure, while I've been to this place many times, I've only ever ordered two items. I get the Croque Madame, and a Sucre Latte. I'm sure that many of the other menu items are excellent, I can't honestly say that I will ever order anything else. The above combo makes for the perfect breakfast. For those who don't know, a croque madame is essentially a baked ham and cheese sandwich, sometimes with a thin veneer of Bechamel sauce, topped with a fried egg. Sucre's version is among the tastiest I'm aware of, with perfect browning of the cheese and bread with a nice outer crust and soft inside. I am also going to be real here and say that I've never met a croque madame I didn't love.....but there's just something about Sucre's iteration of it. Depending on my taste that morning, I like to either douse it or dab it with the house-made hot sauce found on every table. This sauce is also excellent - if you don't see a bottle of hot sauce on your table, ask for it. The iced Sucre Latte is a well-made iced latte, with the addition of small espresso ice cubes. I really don't know why more places don't do this. As the cubes melt, they leach out more espresso, adding to the flavor of the drink - so don't chug that latte quickly, let it sit for a while. At this point, Sucre has become habitual.....and I fully admit, it's a hard habit to break. There aren't many breakfasts in town that will, guaranteed, make me as happy as a croque madame and espresso cube latte from Sucre. read more

Just left chef sucre cafe and had to review this place right away. Let's start with the decor: They have fun wall art that had me intrigued during my whole time there. Very cool. Service: Since the place is small, it is very intimate which I loved. The chef and his partner were a pleasure to interact with. The chef food runs all his dishes which I really appreciated. You can tell how much this place means to them by the amazing quality of both their service and food. Food: Let's just say the plate was empty in about 6 minutes and I did not talk once until the plate was finished! Their hours of operation are not what you would expect. They are a little more exclusive with their times but I actually liked that about them. Just make sure to check their times before going. I have been coming to Sucre Cafe on and off for the better part of two years. I usually order in and sometimes do take out. Sucre Cafe is a small bistro that is reminiscent of a small Parisian or mid town NYC cafe. You walk in and order at the counter. You can then sit down inside or outside. They quickly bring you your drink. My go to is the coconut flavored ice tea. My mainstay is the Eiffel Salad with shrimp (protein is an add on, but worth it). The salad consists of spring mix, vinaigrette, blue berries, strawberries and Brie. It is mouth watering. I am transported to Rue San Germain. The salad is consistent--and in a town that can actually get a salad wrong-that is a testament to the owners and chef. They serve breakfast all day and lunch. Now on Thursdays, fridays and Saturday they are offering diner. Service: impeccable. You feel as you are being catered too personally. Refills are quickly dispatched. Parking: metered in front and in back. Bathrooms are an issue as they are inside the building. If you come to Sucre Cafe you won't be disappointed and you may just hear an accordion in the distance. read more
