    The caramel crunch sundae
    Darren G.

Very fast service and super friendly, nearly placed my order and it was ready in no time, even though it busy here, definitely no waiting. Now caramel crunch sundae, it was amazing, just perfect balance of heath bars crushed, caramel, hot fudge and pretzels with soft serve vanilla ice cream, plus love how they use tall cups rather then wide bowls, here so I did not have any dripping sundae on me. Definitely will come back to try other flavors of ice cream and maybe try their savory items. Also this place is pretty cool to have a modern looking stand plus a shaded area to eat and free water tank with cups.

It has been amazing to see this Ice Cream stand grow. The flavors are amazing, the food is so delicious, and love the brands they carry in their new candy shop. Now a tradition to stop anytime I drive upstate in the summer.

    Single scoop of pistachio

Stopped by here in the evening a couple days before Memorial Day weekend. The list of what they were out of was so extensive that it was easier for them to tell us the flavors they actually did have in stock. Unfortunately all the ones my fiancé and I were interested in trying were unavailable. We asked if they had just basic vanilla and the girl at the counter said she would check and came back to say they didn't have it in hard ice cream, only soft serve. So I ordered a scoop of pistachio and my fiancé got a school of mint chocolate chip. A few minutes later we overheard a woman order hard vanilla ice cream so I interjected and mentioned they were out of vanilla. The girl she was ordering from looked confused and said that no they definitely did have it. She asked the girl who waited on us about it and she just shrugged. The whole interaction was disappointing since both my fiancé and I ordered flavors we weren't all that interested in trying because we were told it was pretty much all they had. Overall the ice cream was decent. A little pricey for two single scoop cones (about $10). They did let me try a couple of samples before I ordered so I could determine which I liked best. There are a lot of other ice cream places in the area though so the next time we're vacationing in the area we will probably try out one of them.

Visited on the 2nd opening day after a major snowstorm in the area. The person at the window was so nice and friendly. Okay, I had the veggie burger, which was quite good. Next time, I'll add cheese and avocado, and switch out the gluten-free bun for a different one. It looks like they make their own veggie burger, as it doesn't look processed. The onion rings were nice and crunchy although I have to remember to get ranch dressing. The cookies and cream milkshake was creamy and just the right consistency to use a straw. May I add that I really like their takeout bag? Even though it's a bit of a drive for me, I plan to visit again when it's warmer and I can sit outside.

Not understanding the bad reviews at all! I mean yes, the place is ran mostly by teenagers but in my opinion that's impressive and as adults we should show some compassion! Honestly I had a 10/10 experience there, I went in hungry , and left happy and satiated! Sarah was the one who helped me, alternative appearance and still a ray of sunshine (not that someone's appearance should cause you to assume their disposition). I got a 2 scoop ice cream cup, lavender and apricot and WHEW! On a hot day it was exactly what I needed, not to mention that the cherry on top was free :) ! Cute and appreciated. For lunch I had the cherries classic hot dog I believe with onion sauce and their homemade cheese sauce HOLY CRAP IT WAS GOOD! A little messy, as any respectable hot dog should be truth be told. And then I got some curly fries , perfectly salty/crispy/fresh. It all came out to about $19 which is reasonable to me, the place gives off cute American diner vibes and they have a neat gift shop Nextdoor with merch and what seemed like kids items! So definitely family friendly, they even have free books out to read to your little ones. As I write this I'm looking at the menu getting ready to head there and grab dinner haha , enjoy!

Cherries is the best--consistently good food you want from an ice cream shop on vacation.

Everybody was friendly, and the place was clean. There is a sign, that there is no Wi-Fi. You actually have to *GASP* talk to each other as if it were back in the 90s. :) You order at the front counter, and then when your food is ready, you walk up to the kitchen window and pick it up. I decided to try the 209 hash. Two eggs, Potatoes, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, sausage, and tomatoes. While the food was good and the over easy eggs were done right, everything was pretty oily. From the potatoes, to the mushrooms, everything. I mean yes, there was bacon and sausage, but there shouldn't have been so much oil on everything else. Again, it did taste good, and it was very rich, but all of the oil took away from the meal, just a little bit. Next time I'm passing by, I would stop again, but this time I would get something else. Thank you.

All of the staff here are really nice & friendly. We started with Drinks. I had the Martini Special for the 4th of July and my husband had a Apple Spritzer made with Champagne. We went out to dinner today for my birthday. We started with the crispy brussel sprouts appetizer. It is sooo good. We had the Pan Seared Chicken which came with Fresh sautéed Green Beans and Polenta. The polenta was served in a square. I liked it that way and it made it easy to dunk in the Mushroom Gravy that came with the Chicken. My Mom had the Pan Seated Chicken too but they accommodated her by making a separate gravy minus the butter and hers was served with Salad & French Fries. We also had the Steak Tacos and a Watermelon Salad which was also delicious. We ended with dessert which was a Rubard Lemon tart and Black Raspberry Ice Cream wth whipped cream and a cherry. We totally enjoyed ourselves. My Moms have been coming to this restaurant for years. They also have a outdoor area behind the main restaurant called The Hill whete they have live music. The Restaurant is very clean, there is stonework throught out. It has a very warm relaxing vibe to it. As walk through the doors you are Always Welcomed with a Smile. Staff was sweet, but we lost our waitress halfway through which was aggravating. Our food came out and we asked for more drinks (soft drinks) and condiments and she never came back until we hunted her down for the check. Don't think we will be coming back.

Service…read morewas indeed spotty on the Saturday night we came here and prices- well....they veer into sharp-intake-of-breath territory, but the cocktail and wine list are good in value. We'd just wrapped up seeing a property in the area- so coming here for dinner, fell just in line with timing before heading down home. Butterfield is Hasbrouck House's on-site farm-to-table restaurant located a bit north from New Paltz. While we didn't stay at the hotel, folks can certainly dine here. Don't even think that you'll be seated in an ultra-cheap bar area because their bar is put together elegantly with brushed, brassy-gold touches, navy, grey+cream patterned wallpaper and a comfortable tufted leather(?) sofa against the windows. Those are pretty much the overall touches with lots of tone and a lot of warmth. Music was a great mix of 60s-70s R&B. Yeah.... here. Hubs and I were digging it. Naturally, Butterfield's menu will change regularly according with what's in season and available. Between our 'Small Plates' of mixed Beet salad+ yogurt ($18) and hubs' crispy wonton Tuna Crudo+ yuzu tacos ($22)- they were very tasty and pricy for the small size. Mr. Mixologist packed our cocktails extremely well with an incredible TKO. Our main plates were very good- but again, small for the dollar amount. No one needs to gorge on food- but I wished my palm-size $44 Halibut was a bit bigger. To their defense, it had a tasty rub and done PERFECTLY moist though. Hubs' $54 "dry aged strip loin" was a total of 3 pieces. And my take-out Truffle Risotto had uncooked rice. Again, it's small and expensive at $38 for a main plate Hubs and I eat well and usually, money is no object- if it's within reason. I totally get that fine dining typically means splurging a little for high-quality items or that Butterfield is using 'complex cooking techniques' or that you'll get an original dining experience in these neck of the woods for those who want uniqueness. But there are a ton of restaurants that use the same skill set, quality organic ingredients, root veggies, etc- and they're way more reasonably priced than this location.
