Since all the Chevys near us are closed down, we made the 45 min trip last Saturday night to the location on Tesson Ferry. We got there around 7:45 and didn't get out of there until a little after 9. There were only a handful of other customers there so the service issues were not due to being busy. We had to ask our server several times for each thing we needed (water, salsa, sour cream). There were 4 of us and we only ordered 3 meals (2 kids meals and a sampler platter) and we really had nothing difficult. The food came out cold. The service was almost nonexistent. I gave this 2 stars just because I love the salsa and until we ran out of it, it was delicious. It's so sad to see how this place has gone downhill because it was our family favorite for many many years. Edited to respond-The ticket you found was quite possibly ours. I do not have the ticket number so it would just have to be an assumption. Getting our server to TAKE our order was a part of the problem. Other tables with different servers were getting much quicker service than we were. We were seated outside and never once saw a manager. We didn't request one but we also did not get checked up on by one either. I'm not sure if our waitress was new or what was going on. I'm well aware of the other locations and will certainly visit them before ever going back to the Tesson Ferry store. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review because I do understand that so many things can be the cause of issues but this visit was simply ridiculous. As far as refills, we were out of water for quite a while and had to ask a couple times. We were eating the ice. Sour cream? We DID order it with our meals (kids soft beef taco with only meat, cheese, sour cream). We did ask for more salsa (didn't need chips so didn't ask). read more

For whatever reason I love Chevys Cheese enchilada. I've been getting them since the 1990s & just wanted to get some to go for my Birthday today. Enter Steven, the manager at Chevys in Arundel Mills. Even though I had a BD coupon valid for today, he refused to let me take my enchilads to go. In case you didn't know, there's a pandemic & I don'y want to dine inside at this point. If Chevys has more employees like Steven, they will definitely go out of business in 2021. There was no reason to treat me so poorly & rudely. Booooooooo....ooooooo.......oooooooooooo....... We went yesterday to this location about 6 pm. We ordered and waited for our food. I had some kind of drink (don't remember what they called it) and it was actually quite delicious...I mean, it came with watermelon flavored sugar around the rim. WATERMELON FLAVORED SUGAR!!! Who knew? I used to love regular sugar but now I just sort of pity it. Anyway, we had ordered food but it was taking a while and our 14 month old son decided he'd had enough. So I took him outside and my SO had them box up our food to take home. We get home and I eat. Unfortunately, I had ordered the nachos which I fully did not expect to be too awesome since nachos rarely if ever work for take out. However, there were a couple major unforeseen problems. 1. There was literally about a bag of chips (stale) with maybe 3 tbsps of queso. The chips were DRY. So, basically no cheese. Awesome. 2. There was a pile of wilty stuff on one end of the tray - shredded lettuce, sour cream, guacamole. As I was eating the guacamole (since it provided some of the only moisture for the chips) I noticed it had almost zero flavor. I also noticed a huge lump in it. Turned out to be a whole half of a small avocado. No wonder my guacamole had no flavor...it was really mostly just plain avocado. Double awesome. 3. Lastly, as I was eating, I found a chip that had a chunk of taco meat on it. Now I had ordered these meat free with black beans on the side. Triple, NAY QUADRUPLE, awesome!!! My dinner ended there. To sum up: 1. Dinner super unbelievable awful in pretty much every single capacity and, honestly, I am owed a total refund. 2. I went to this Chevys location for my first time last weekend, and really enjoyed it. This to me was one of the nicest locations that I have been to, and the way that it was set up (and located in a plaza as opposed to be stand alone) made it feel very quaint. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. We had great, fast service, and our food was excellent. We will definitely visit this location again next time we are in the area. read more

I haven't been to a Chevy's in over 10 years--and I have only been once. There is one right behind the Mall of America in Bloomington MN for those hard-core Chevy fans. I had time to kill before picking up the hubby from work so I decided hey I should have a jump start on happy hour. I was really pleased with the decor and atmosphere or the bar area and my female bartender was efficient and friendly...I enjoyed the chips and salsa and decided that is a plus to doing happy hour ALONE---I didn't have to share with the hubby...I ate it all and didn't have to be courteous with double dipping or anything.....They had several happy hour specials and I decided to try some type of premium tequila margarita that was on special---it was good and smooth and way better than a lot of happy hour margaritas that you get as it didn't have the overwhelming pucker power of sour. They probably use more of a fresh squeezed lime juice i'm guessing and for this woman that matters...I paid 8.00 total that is with tax and tip for a premium drink--the chips and salsa are free and they have very tall beers at happy hour that I will make sure to partake of next time. If you are in the area and need a snack or a place to wet your whistle...this isn't a bad choice. read more

When he is not there, I basically get serviced big glasses of ice with added sweet and sour mix, like tonight. You should be able to taste the tequila in a margarita. read more

Came in for lunch and the place certainly didn't appear busy while we were there. We waited for over a half hour for food. When the food arrived for our party of three, we asked for more chips and salsa, which we never received. The waitress (tattoo on right hand and wore glasses) repeatedly dipped drinking glasses directly into the ice with her hand; not using the scoop. Alright, I kind of judge myself for liking this place so much, but the food is just tasty. Nothing that's culinarily exciting, but yummy goes a long way. Their chips and salsa are also SO good. Their chips are usually warm, super crispy, and salted just perfectly and the salsa is unique and delicious. The entrees are consistently good- especially fond of the chicken taquitos with jalapeño jelly, although I could probably dip cardboard in jalapeño jelly and chow down happily. The service can be hit or miss- Lee is fantastic, but I once had a waitress tell me not to eat too many chips and salsa and ruin my appetite. Excuse me but I'm here FOR the chips and salsa haha, I can take my entree leftovers to go thank you. We still return here probably once a month- it's consistently good, quick food and usually great service ;) read more

Beware. You are paying for atmosphere and fancy menu descriptions. My husband and I eat at a variety of Mexican restaurants regularly and enjoy the food. There is not a Chevy's near us, but we were in the area last night, so we decided to try it. We were very disappointed and will not be returning. First, it took 50 minutes to get our food. Our waiter said that our order got behind a larger party's order. We didn't have enough time to enjoy our meal at the restaurant, so we had it packaged to go. I wish we would have left without it. I ordered fish tacos. They were chard almost beyond recognition. They must have been ignored on the grill when the large party was being taken care of. My husband ordered the smothered burrito. He loves burritos. They are his favorite food. He said it was "edible" and he's had "much better." Even if we hadn't waited so long for not so wonderful food, I think it's overpriced for Mexican food. Like I said, you are paying for the atmosphere of a sit down restaurant. On a positive note: their chips and salsa were a stand out. Thin crispy chips and a unique tasty salsa. Maybe just go here for drinks with girlfriends and the chips and salsa. This place surely does not deserve it's overall 2 star rating. I wish I could give 4 stars, but 3 stars it is. I hadn't been to Chevy's in a while and was hoping for a great experience when we stopped here for a late lunch on our recent road trip. The 5 of us arrived at 2:30 to a pretty quiet restaurant. As such, there was no one at the hostess podium and we waited for a minute or two. They sat us near in the bar in a booth (we requested) that was just barely big enough for us (really designed for 4 I think). Before long they'd brought out the chips and salsa, which were just as delicious as I'd remembered. The chips and salsa are both wonderful, made on premises I think, and I could eat these non-stop. The service was just fine. The prices were a bit high for what we received. We had guacamole for an appetizer ($8.50). Not a big portion but indeed tasty. While I enjoyed my entree, the grilled fajita salad, in retrospect it was not much like what was described on the menu. Too much romaine lettuce. They might have served me a different salad and I was unaware. Others in my party were not impressed with their enchiladas, which looked plain. My BF did like his quesadilla and the chile con queso was good. Those of us who had a side of tomalito enjoyed it immensely. It is like a sweet corn cake. They used to have something similar at Chi-Chi's (RIP). I had an original margarita, which was also on the pricey side. Ideally I would come here and eat chips and salsa and tomalito all day! Wow!!! What can i say as a first time visitor of Chevys i was greeted by the incredibly friendly staff and promptly seated in Katrina's section. Most servers look at a 1 top just looking for drinks and maybe an app as someone you can rush over... Not Katrina. Shes a bright enthusiastic well informed and attentive server. She really made me feel welcomed and appreciated for coming in. I couldn't believe the service as well as the food and cant wait for next time. Hopefully like me, ill ask for her. My son and I stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The room was about half full, but the service was really slow. We sat for a good 20 minutes before anyone came and asked for our drink order - a Dr. Pepper and a house Margarita. A few minutes later our waitress came back to take our food order (still no drinks). We split a large fajita platter. While waiting for our food, and still with no drinks, we were seriously contemplating walking out. Our food arrived piping hot (still no drinks) and was more than enough for the two of us. There was a mix of steak, chicken and ribs. Oddly, the ribs were the best and most flavorful part of the platter. I couldn't detect much if any seasoning on the chicken. The steak seemed to be cut too think and with the grain, so it was chewy. Not too bad, but not great either. I reminded our waitress that we still hadn't gotten our drink when she dropped off the food. She ran off and returned with the drinks, no apologies. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but I'm not sure there was anything to compel us to return. Bummer. read more

Everytime we go to St Louis we stop in at this location:. I've liked Chevys since the days of Columbia and when they was in Independence. We stopped in here over the past summer and the food was still delicious. I love the enchiladas and my wife enjoys the chimichanga. Food is always hot and the service is average for a food chain. I love this place. Only been here twice but I'm sold. Their flautas are mouth-watering tasty! (Last time I got the chimichanga and that was super good too and I'm picky about my chimis). Husband loved his crab and shrimp enchiladas, said they were so good (and he isn't picky but being a chef himself, he has high expectations for satisfying his pallet ). This recent time we had Roxanne as a server and she was amazing. Husband & I agreed we haven't had service like that from anywhere/anyone in a long time. She is definitely good at her job and contributed to us enjoying ourselves by her positive attitude, personality, and attentiveness. Another server said hi and asked us how we were doing, too, & that was so nice. A welcoming place w/ good food- a win win! Recommend: Flautas, fajitas, fajita nachos, grilled chicken tacos, house margarita, original quesadilla DO NOT GET THE GUAC UNLESS THEY HAVE REAL AVOCADOS. Guacamole from a bag simply tastes NASTY. We always enjoy eating at Chevy's. The food is always good and what we expect. The atmosphere is comfortable and fun. Our kids enjoy watching the window where they make the tortillas.
