Decent chips and salsa. My husband likes their queso. I always get the combination plate and wind up having to take it home, I can't eat it all so that's a pretty good deal. Overall though a bit pricey and as more and more Mexican restaurants open up we go here less and less. 1 word of caution if you go there, the floors are always slippery and no one wants to fall on their butts just to get some food so be careful. read more

Haven't been here in years and not a great experience. Ordered a chimichanga and had to pay an extra $1.99 for sour cream. My boyfriend ordered two double vodka and teas (they use Burnett's ) and they were $12 a piece! What a joke! Never will be back here again. read more

I recently was there for a meeting with a couple of ladies. We order appetizers and drinks all of which were so yummy! Although we over-stayed our welcome, the waiter was as nice as can be and kept bringing us our drinks. He never tried to rush us and we enjoyed the great food and atmosphere! read more

Went to dinner here last night to celebrate my dad's birthday with some of the family. Hadn't been to a Chevy's since the one in Ellisville close and was looking forward to the experience. Things started off pretty well, as we were seated promptly and received our drinks. The service was friendly, but unfortunately forgetful or distracted. On multiple occasions we attempted to flag someone down for things such as a glass of water, extra napkins, etc., as they weren't brought in the first place. They did the "birthday" thing for my dad which I think was a first for him, though the sombrero scratched his head. With regards to the food, things were OK, though I learned the hard way that mayonnaise (aioli) is now on tacos. I'm probably one of the few people on the planet that doesn't like mayo and always thought chain restaurant mexican was a safe haven for not having to worry. I ordered a chicken soft taco and learned that it's now a part of it rather than old school sour cream. Didn't finish it. I'll need to be more careful in the future. So, it was overall a so-so experience. Service could have been better and still not sure I comprehend how mayo and Mexican goes together. read more

We stopped in on a whim after my sons Karate lesson one evening. We were greeted right away and given a table. Server was friendly and more than happy to assist with anything we needed. The food was brought in a reasonable amount of time and was enjoyable. The manager came over and spoke to us to see if there was anything we would like. Everything was great! Picked up some food to go on a Saturday night. Slow service and the food was not hot. This place has so much potential, but obviously there is a lack of commitment by the ownership (chain restaurant). Nothing has been updated over the last few years. The bar area has a nice setup. My family and I went yesterday because it was a 30 minute wait for a haircut we sat down it took 10 minutes to get to teas and a soda , we ordered what we thought was safe , two orders of beef tacos and chicken nachos the food actually came very quik . That was best part about the entire experience . The waitress was not that busy, just a few tables . But we always had to call her to get any attention you would have thought she had twice the amount of tables she actually did . The only flavor the tacos had was the hot sauce that I put on them I took maybe two bites and asked the waitress to take them back and stated that they were not good she did not say anything she simply took the tacos and walked away. She did not offer to have them remade nor did she offer me anything else. At this point my mother commented to me and my father that the chicken and her nachos did not seem to be done also looking at the nachos they were basically a big mess just soupy cheese chicken and not much else . At this point I became very irritated about what the waitress did and asked the hostess to send over the manager. When the manager came over she was friendly and nice I I told her the situation with the tacos and that I had sent them back and that she and offered us nothing new or anything to replace it my mother also commented about her nachos which he promptly took away. She came back a few minutes later with a new check and an apology however on the check the only thing removed was my tacos nachos were still on the check. She then gave us approximately four coupons for complimentary appetizers when she gave them to me I looked at my family probably gave them back and said no thank you we will not be returning, at this she looked irritated said thank you have a nice day and walked away. If you have a craving for good Mexican food do not go to Chevys go to Taco Bell get way better tacos at a third of the price, you'll be much much happier read more

Love Chevy's chips and salsa. It's what brings us in. But the entrees are just as delicious. Prices are fair and I've never had to wait too long to be seated. Staff is great. read more

I don't recall every giving a restaurant a one-star rating, but I ate lunch today at the Chevy's on Tesson Ferry in South County, and I have never had such a cold, rude waitress in my life. Either she was having an exceptionally bad day or somehow I inadvertantly offended her in some way. I went for lunch. I sat on the porch, and thought I'd get the smallest possible meal and a margarita. It was hot, a margarita sounded good - it was the only reason I chose this restaurant. The waitress came flying out the door, sloshed and spilled a LOT of my margarita all over the ground right beside me and set it, still dripping everywhere, on the table. I must have looked a little shocked, because she looked at me and said, "WHAT? Is something wrong?" I noted that there was no salt left on the rim of the glass. None. All of it was on the ground or washed into the bottom of what remained of the margarita. She was clearly perturbed that I mentioned this, and stated that the salt does not really stick to the rims of this kind of glass. I asked if it would be possible to get a replacement, without the spill and with salt on the rim. She took it and brought another way later. For the meal, I ordered a lunch portion sizzling fajita salad. There was nothing sizzling about the meat and peppers on this salad. Barely warm carnitas. Same temperature as the lettuce, which was also warm. When the check came, the waitress charged me full-meal price for the salad, which I had ordered directly pointing to the item on the lunch menu. I pointed it out, politely, assuming it was a simple mistake. She told me that I had ordered and been served the full portion. I noted that I had specifically ordered the lunch portion, from the lunch menu. She said she would ask her manager about it, but that she doubted he would reduce it because I had "eaten all of it." Then she left, with my credit card, and did not come back for 20 minutes. I had to go back inside the restaurant and find her. Only $4 difference, but holy cow, you've got to be kidding me. I left her a 10% tip, because I never stiff anyone completely on a tip and maybe she was just having a bad day. But I will never come back to this restaurant, and if I were the manager, there is no way I would let my staff treat customers the way I was treated today. P.S. I am not a griper. Went on a Saturday evening around 5:30. The hostess that was taking names must have been new. I stood there literally 1 minute before she spoke to us and there was another employee standing right next to her and he didn't say a word either. They both looked like they were hired that day! She was dosing off while standing up too! Waited about 10 minutes for a table, then 10 minutes later here comes the waiter who looked like he just crawled out of bed! He looked like he was hung over, and we could barely hear him. I saw a manager running around like crazy delivering food trays and helping out. You could tell this place was struggling. Terrible service, and an unfriendly atmosphere. We had a birthday coupon and hadn't been there in a year. Boy have things changed! Wife had fish tacos and she spent most of the next day in the bathroom. (if you know what I mean) Never again. Prices are way too high, portions are small, and they're chip baskets are way too small. Why not have larger ones and save the wait staff from having to make so many extra trips replenishing them. The best part about the dinner was the chips and salsa! Never again. We went there for a fun birthday dinner. I had purchased a Groupon certificate a couple of months before and decided to use it for the dinner. We showed it to the server who said managment would take care of it. No one ever came to the table and nothing else was said. We ordered the three course dinner with soup and a mini dessert. The food was adequate but nothing special and the dessert was two tablespons of ice cream over some tortilla chips and basiically tasteless. We gave the server the Groupon certificate which was worth $20 and our card to cover the rest. The next thing we had was the manager coming to our table to tell us we couldn't use the certificate on the food since it wasn't good for the three course meal. I told him the server was informed of the certificate and never told us there were limitations. The manager began to talk down to me and told me that the food on the three course meal was discounted tne the menu stated that no coupons or special offers applied. I told him that the certificate was neither, that I had paid for it and it was supposed to be good for $20 worth of food - period. He became rude and acted like we were at fault. I told im he should educate his wait staff. He said his computer system wouldn't let him put in the discount for that order, which is ridiculous - managers have an ability to comp meals or put in any discount. I told him I was angry and that his server's error should not be my problem. The manager(who said he was the owner) rudely said that he would take off the $10 I paid for the certificate so that is how it ended. He was never truly concerned about losing a customer and I should note that at 8:30 on a Saturday night the place was basically empty. I feel like the Groupn certificate was a come on bait and switch tactic - if we had odered any other items on the menu totalling just the $20, that would have applied but ordering the items we did which cost over the face value of the certificate which we were paying for did not. Needless to say, we will not be going back or recommending any of our friends or business associates go there. There is no excuse for being rude and condescending to a customer or allowing them to leave feeling cheated over $10 when you put that certificate on Groupon to generate business! read more
