My bf and I are visiting from Hawaii and heard of this place on Reddit. First things first, customer service was 11/10. The sweet lady that helped us made our experience even better and the guy who served us was also amazing. The food was 10/10 and the sweet tea hit the spot. The restaurant was super vibrant and clean! Would eat here again and again if we could !

Wow. If there ever was a place that deserved more than five stars it's this place. We ordered the 10 piece family pack. Each of us got a huge piece of thigh plus a huge drumstick. This fried chicken is heavenly. It is crispy but not too crispy nor overdone. Really juicy inside. Amazing flavour. We all agreed this was amongst the best we've had. I immediately thought, this puts most KFC places to shame. I'm sorry. The fries are good too. The gravy. It's some good gravy. The biscuits. They are big, fluffy, crispy on outside, really well done. You can ask for butter and jam with it. They melted the butter for us. Both of the sides we had were awesome too. The panko zucchini was sooo good. Really crisp. Oh and the chichirron and bacon corn. Spicy but great. Really friendly service as well. It was pretty quiet when we went on Sunday night but normally packed. Make this one of your stops in Kits for sure.

This place is a decent brunch place with a nice patio in the back for a sunny day. Food is 3/5 for me. They focus on fried chicken and American biscuits so the menu is designed around these main ingredients. I would recommend trying their main dish, everything with both chicken and biscuits. The chicken in general is not the style I like, a bit dry for my taste. The mac and cheese is not really good, a bit blend in flavours. The potatoes on the other hands is addictive! Service is 4/5, they are really nice and cheerful but they did forget one of our appetizers. To be fair we also forgot about it until end of meals.

We looooooved Chewie's. We loved it so much we went back twice over the course of a 4 day period. We got to meet the owner the second time we went and he was such a nice guy. We're planning a trip back in August and Chewie's is already on our list to eat at. Get the chiccarones. They're sooo good. Craving them right now.

Ordered online unable to speak on the ambiance of the restaurant or service but will %1000 percent be there. AMAZING food absolutely amazing food the breakfast sandwich is so delicious, the gator tots are to die for (I'm definitely a sucker for them and these are genuinely some of the best) very delicious seasoning. The mac and cheese could use some improvements I will not lie I've had much better and probably won't be ordering again but I can't even take a star off for that all the other food is so amazing. I really really recommend trying out some of their food and for sure know I'll be going back. This place deserves so much more credit love it!

A quaint restaurant with only a few tables and chairs; seats maybe 24 people. Chicken is deliciously fried and not oily or too salty. The brunch is served all day and the prices are quite reasonable.

Went here for brunch today. The place is small but quaint. The service was good but the poor server was on her own. It's too much for one person. She was friendly but probably not the most efficient. Food was ok. The fried chicken and fries are spicy but juicy. Maybe too much spice for most people and I can eat quite spicy too. Food and presentation were good but quite expensive. 2 meals was $50 after tax and tip . That's a lot for brunch.

What a cute little restaurant with delicious fried chicken! A perfect lunch stop on our wandering through Kitsilano. Added bonus of a soft ginger cookie for dessert! Loved the attentive service too!

This place is amazing!!! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place when we wanted some fried chicken for brunch and wow it succeeded expectations! I was torn between the moose and the chicken Benny and the waitress/cashier was so nice and helpful she suggested doing half and half. This way I could still get the cream cheese from one and the hollandaise from the other. My boyfriend got the hot momma one but the homemade hot sauce was so good we asked for extra on the side. I usually don't like hot sauce as I'm bad with spicy but this sauce was amazing. It was buttery smooth and had a tangy kick. Because the food is incredible you'd think this kind of place is one of those places that has a line out the door at all times. Although they were still busy on a Saturday at 1, the waitress said they just flip tables really quickly so the line never gets too long. This makes sense as our food came out pretty quickly. I love they make conscious efforts to not have a big line of people outside! We were so impressed by the staff here as everyone was so friendly and willing to answer any questions we had about the menu, made sure our water glasses were full, tables were quickly cleaned, and checking in on us to see how we liked our meals. The waitress was so nice that when we said how much we loved the homemade hot sauce she said if we wanted to we could probably buy some so we did! All in all, you need to come here. The food is as amazing as it looks, it's a cool atmosphere, and the staff is great!

Take Out: The Moose Biscuit ($14) - gravy on the side - Chicken in the sandwich so crispy!

Chewie's is a mom & pop shop that serves up a satisfying, comforting meal. It's all about biscuits, gravy, and of course fried chicken here. I ordered Take Out recently and had their Breakie Bowl and The Moose Biscuit Sandwich: - The Breakie Bowl ($17) was so tasty, the hash was well seasoned and so crunchy, their biscuits as always on point with density and buttery goodness, bacon, sauteed mushrooms and onions, and egg all came together for a filling meal. - The Moose Sandwich ($14) has a piece of their crispy fried chicken in there along with bacon, egg, and gravy! I ordered the gravy on the side so it wouldn't sog up my biscuits and chicken. Everything was still crispy when I finally ate it at home. It was super easy to order & pay through their website and the food is ready very quickly after ordering! Parking in front of their shop was easy to find. And its great to support our local businesses.

Amazing brunch spot!! Chewies is the place to go when you're craving something greasy but not overwhelming. The southern style brunch is super satisfying. I love their biscuits. They are super flaky and not dry at all. It goes super well with the fried chicken (much better than Popeyes). The gravy sauce is delicious as well. All the staff there are really nice. The first time I went, they offered us a free dessert because our food took a little bit long to prepare (it wasn't even very long). I went again recently for take out but noticed they have a super cute alley outdoor seating area that was completely empty. They were once again very nice and offered us water and the metal cutlery instead of the disposable ones for take out. The seating inside is quite spacious as well. It used to be pretty crowded inside but they've removed many of the tables. Overall some amazing and delicious experiences. Highly recommend :)

I really want to love the food as I have always wanted to try the fried chicken and biscuits. Two of my favorite food. Covid-19 safety protocol is in place. The menu is up on the wall by the door and also outside the entrance. That made it kinda hard to remember what to order by the time I walked to the counter to place my order. I had the fried chicken Benny. The fried chicken was nice, not too dry but I felt the rest of the meal was a bit on the dry side. Not enough sauce. I did not expect the avocado to be mashed and spread on the biscuits. The eggs did not have runny yolks. Probably my bad for not saying I wanted it to be medium or runny. I was also not asked how I liked the eggs to be done. That was probably the biggest disappointment. The hash was amazing though. It was seasoned very nicely and had crispy edges and fluffy soft inside. However once it was cooled, it was also hard and dry. Maybe the actual fried chicken and biscuits will be better.

I think Chewie's Biscuit Co. just became my new favourite place to eat in Kitsilano! It's located on West 4th, but not along the main strip - which means it's much easier to find parking and you don't run into crowds of people. This was my first time at Chewie's and I had the best time! The staff were all so sweet and really fun to interact with, and the food was spectacular. I got the two piece combo (fried chicken with fries and a biscuit) while my mom had the waffles and my dad ordered the prawn benny. My fried chicken was cooked to perfection. I seriously mean this. The chicken was incredibly juicy and tender, the coating was crisp and had just the right amount of spice, and I was amazed at how well it retained its heat - I cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and was alternating between eating that and some french fries, yet every piece remained hot! I can't say the same about the fried chicken place near my house, so I was definitely impressed. Chewie's fried chicken may well be the best I've ever had in my life! As for the waffles, they're made using their buttermilk biscuit batter. On their own, they're a bit dry, but once you dip them in the berry compote and/or whipped cream, it's all good. Although I only had one bite of the prawn benny, it was so decadently delicious that I know I'm going to order it the next time I come here! The sweetness from the prawns mixed with the rich hollandaise and poached egg yolk...ah, now I'm craving it even more!

Jam Cafe, Vancouver Jam Cafe is my favorite brunch spot. Anywhere. That sounds like an exaggeration. It isn't. I've been traveling to Vancouver for work for almost a decade, and every single trip includes a stop at Jam. If I'm lucky, two. I've also become that coworker who convinces everyone to meet outside at 7:45 in the morning so we can be part of the first seating at 8:00. Thankfully, we're all from the East Coast and have been awake since 5:00 anyway. Over the years I've successfully JAMfluenced more business travelers than I'd like to admit. And yes, it's still worth the wait even if you're not first in line. The restaurant itself is tiny. Cozy farmhouse vibes, mismatched decorations covering the walls, and maybe 15 tables between the dining room and patio. It feels more like someone's favorite neighborhood breakfast spot than one of Vancouver's brunch institutions. The menu is comfort food turned up to eleven. Everything is indulgent, creative, and somehow still balanced. You can tell the kitchen starts with great ingredients because every component tastes like it could stand on its own. I try to branch out every visit... and then usually end up ordering the Tater Tot Bowl anyway. Crispy tater tots, buffalo sauce, Mexican street corn relish, and ridiculously good pulled pork. It's the kind of dish that sounds like it shouldn't work, but every bite somehow gets better than the last. And then there are the cinnamon roll pancakes. They are enormous. They're also one of the best brunch dishes I've ever eaten. Birdfluencer Lorraine M. declared them the best pancakes she's ever had, and after several visits, I don't have much of an argument. Service is exactly what it needs to be. Friendly, efficient, and quick. The staff knows there's a line forming outside before the doors even open, but you never feel rushed. Overall, Jam Cafe has officially become part of my Vancouver tradition. At this point, a work trip to the city doesn't really start until I've had breakfast here. If you're visiting Vancouver and only have time for one brunch, this would be my pick without a second thought.

We were having gorgeous weather in Vancouver so we decided to eat on the covered patio. The place is pretty cozy, but was only moderately busy when we went. They have a pretty good menu with lots a Benedict's and a build your own breakfast option that seemed pretty nice. I took the recommendation from our server and got the bacon benny. It did not disappoint. I think I have recently discovered that I love poached eggs and these were perfect. The yolk was nice and runny and the white was firm but not hard. I like to cut in to my egg and have it run down and get messy on the plate. The hollandaise was excellent. So many breakfast places will serve it broken, but not here. It had the perfect amount of lemon, butter ratio for my taste and I really enjoyed it. The bacon was good, not to salty, and the english muffin was, well, an English muffin from a package that they toasted and out on the plate. I did splurge and paid the extra dollar for the truffle potatoes and they were very good. I love truffle oil on potatoes so I am a sucker for it whenever its on a menu. You just cant mess it up. Fried potatoes, truffle oil, and a lemon squeeze to bring it all together. My wife got the brunch burger and she loved it. It was a messy breakfast burger that a lot of places have but this one was done right. A poached oozy egg, on a burger patty with american cheese, the best burger cheese in my opinion, bacon, hollandaise and arugula on a brioche bun! It came with tater tots and they were nice and crispy just like she likes them. Well, why didn't I give it five stars you may be asking? Great question. Here it is, each plate came with a side that was just awful. Mine had some "fresh" fruit that nearly made me laugh. It consisted of the saddest, limpest piece of watermelon I have ever seen this side of a trash can. I also had an old crusty orange wedge and a single grape. My wife got a slimy side salad that I think was holding on for dear life. Both, we deemed inedible and moved on immediately. I think there is a rule, or at least there should be one, in restaurants that if you wouldn't eat it then don't serve it. There might be another one that says if you eat rotten food maybe get a different job and see rule one. Overall, we liked the place and would go back. But first, the food - I ordered scrambled eggs, chicken apple sausage and paid an extra $1 for truffled lemon potatoes. The verdict? 4 out of 5. While he loved the tomato soup he chose on the side, he was less enamoured by the benny itself. I had a taste and was underwhelmed by a forkful of overripe avocado and slightly fishy-tasting salmon. We finished with an order of beignets which despite being freshly-fried, were bland; although the accompanying strawberry sauce was deliciously tangy-sweet. Onto the service. This place spins like a top, and I mean that in a good way. Although we came at a peak time, all front of the house staff we encountered -- from the hostess to our bubbly server, to the smooth manager -- struck a perfect balance of being in flow, working flawlessly together, and maintaining light conversation with us.
