Was in the mood for deep dish Chicago style pizza - what a disappointment. Wasn't really Chicago deep dish style, more like just a thick crust. And the crust honestly tasted like it was made with Bisquick. Could tell the sauce came from a jar and not homemade. I've been wanting to go to Chicago to try real Chicago Pizza and other stuff but instead my friends brought me here to Chicago Pizza. It was amazing but I want them to know I still want to go to the real Chicago. I was very impressed with the pizza and my friends who are all from Chicago told me this place is the closest thing to the real Chicago pizza. I didn't do the deep dish or deep pan pizza; I did the thin crust pizza with sausage and onions. It was really good but I want everyone to know I still think New York Pizza is still the Best. My friends ordered Chicago Tamales for the table to share, which I never heard of before. It went very fast so it was good we ordered another order and this time I got to try some more. Also tried my fiancé's Meatball Sub Sandwich. The meatballs were good but he said he wished it had more cheese. After just leaving a restaurant across the street because of terrible service we were greeted by not one but two hostesses/waitresses. Quickly seated, a waitress immediately took our drink and appetizer order. The antipasto salad and thin crust pizza were delicious. The service was exceptional. Update for my previous review...... Chicago's Pizza general manager, Ryan responded immediately to my complaint and handled the situation 100% PERFECTLY! He's absolutely the epitome of what his position calls for! I won't say what he did for me, but I can tell you that the bartender that I wrote the review about is no longer employed there. I found out from other regular customers that I was not the first one to have that happen to, but I know that I'm the last. First time trying here. Pick-up order. large deep dish cheese and large deep dish veggie- the crust was very hard, dry and oddly cold on the corners. Seemed like a pre-made pizza that reheated unevenly. The Italian sub bun seemed like it was over heated and was wrapped in foil and you could barely bite through it because it was so chewy. The 8 inch kids pizza was put in a styrofoam box and was soggy. The marinara on the kids spaghetti tasted like it had beer in it so I think it may have been a little fermented. I usually don't leave bad reviews but I was literally appalled that every item in my order was terrible. So Here's my problem. Chicago Pizza is Chicago pizza, about 50 percent of the time. The other 50 percent, it's just a pizza place. Chicago does a Pie. Its thick and savory with a butter glaze crust and it's fabulous. Here, they do a pie shaped crust with minimal depth and when we ordered the extra cheese and pepperoni pie, that cheese was ao thick we could gag on it. But hey, it is what it is. The second pizza, we might as well had gone to Crispers in ft myers because it waa glorified flatbread with toppings. But it was more flavourful and savory than the 'Chicago Style' pizza which tasted like they poured canned tomatoe sauce on the pizza then pepperoni and tons of cheese. Yeah we got good videos of the stringyness of it but it also cooled down fast and we got lukewarm chesse hanging from our mouths a quarter inch thick... Here's the thing... we didnt know when they closed. We were there around the time it was closing and we know restraunts have a hard time with last minute customers that order two pies like we did. I get it. So will we come back? Yeah, we always give places a second chance, with all these places opening up around ft myers area though, we just didn't have a lasting enough impression to make this our even semi regular. Have gone there many times for their deep dish pizza. Last night was a total disappointment. Our pizza was anything but deep dish. Talked to the waitress about the horrible pizza and she said there was a new guy in the kitchen cooking. She saw the condition of the pizza but didn't care. There was hardly any tomato sauce on the pizza and it was 3/4 bread with a few toppings on it. Paid for onions extra and we could hardly see any onion on it. Total waste of money. Talked to the manager to address situation and he could care less. I even had pictures of the tasteless, dry pizza but he didn't care. Will give it a try one more time but you can believe that I will not leave without a manager coming to look at our pizza if we have the same problem. My partner and I went to Chicago Pizza this evening to dine in. No tables were available so we told the hostess we would wait. Another couple came in afterwards and decided to wait. After about 10-15 minutes a waitress came to the other couple and said she had a table for them. We immediately mentioned we were there first before them but the waitress ignored us. We got up to leave and told the hostess we should have been seated first. She said to us the WE were waiting for a low top and they were taking a high top (they were seated at a low top table). The waitress saw us leaving and made rude faces, repeatedly, at us for leaving "due to her mistake". She never apologized if it was an indeed mistake. And, how do you make a mistake when there are only 2 couples waiting??!!. My partner overheard the other couple mentioning they "knew someone" and host saying they would be seated next. That is very poor service and we won't be back. We used to be regular customers dining in and frequently taking out pizza. The business just lost 2 good customers. read more

We've always enjoyed our meals at Chicago Pizza and today was no exception. Our pressed beef sandwich with provolone was delicious!! The au jus just perfect. And our service was wonderful. This is a Chicago style pub/pizza joint in south Florida. I live in Cape Coral full time and eat here weekly. I have had many of the menu items. I find it very good food and worth visiting. I think both the thin crust and deep dish pizza is very good. Again, it is Chicago-style pizza. Not like New York, or Boston, or St.Louis. Many of the critical ingredients are purchased from Chicago area and shipped in. IMO it is the best Chicago-style pizza in the area. I would recommend the pizza, the lasagna, the "Monster of the Midway" hotdog, and I enjoy the baked pasta with sausage. Many local ex-Chicagoan's swear by the Italian Beef sandwich (not my thing). I regularly have the Italian Sub sandwich. Ask about the "dessert" nuggets. There is cold beer and full bar where locals hang out--and there are booths and tables away from the bar if the kids are along. COVID created a complete reset with wait staff. They are back on track and returning to before-COVID service. Thankfully many of the kitchen staff stayed with the restaurant so you should expect great food. Many of the once-enjoyed price specials have been discontinued as a result of COVID and ingredient price changes. The sauces and lasagna, etc are made fresh daily. To my knowledge, the recipes have remained unchanged for several years with several local eatery awards to their credit. Please don't give bad review because you didn't like your booth neighbor or food is not like they make in New York. Give it a fair shot and you'll like it. I'm not from Chicago and it works for me. Been coming to Cape Coral for about 6 yrs now spend 3 weeks in the spring and 2 weeks in the fall, I've had all the pies from the highest rated pizza places, this is my hands down favorite if you appreciate Chicago style thin crust. Good sausage (needs more fennel), great crust, nice tomato sauce with a light flavor. This will be the only place I order a pie from in the future, just wish I found it 6 yrs ago. Seemed like very nice people that own the joint (I believe I met one of the owners). Great looking bar area, so without a doubt this will be my vacation pizza joint!! It was an OK experience. The pizza was at most mediocre with the crust being very dry in the center of the pizza being somewhat cool in temperature. No food is good enough to put up with this staff. Pizza is pretty true to Chicago style however this is by far the rudest staff I have encountered in all of Cape Coral and for sure in the past year. To be fair it is my 2nd time here in 6 months. The first time was the exact same experience only we had our children with us. So I wrote it off as a busy night and let it go. However this is the second time with 2 different staff members/bar tenders and I have not felt so unappreciated as a customer; probably ever. When my wife and I moved to the Cape 6 years ago, we began our search for the best thin crust pizza. It didn't take us long to decide that Chicago Pizza would be our go to pizza restaurant. Our pizza always came out of the kitchen exactly how we ordered it. The past 2 visits.... Not so much. First let me explain that my wife and I were born and raised in the Midwest..... we are not complainers. In the past, we have always looked forward to "pizza night" at Chicago Pizza. Last night, we arrived between 8:45 and 9:00....... plenty of time to have a salad, and our customary 14 or 18 inch pizza. We always like taking some home. Last nights order: Greek Salad w/ 2 dressings.... we always split our salad. 14" pizza with the following toppings: Pepperoni on the entire pizza Italian Sausage..... please go light on the sausage..... also on the entire pizza. Black Olives...... on the entire pizza. Jalapeño peppers...... please go light on these peppers..... also on the entire pizza. Onion..... light, but also on the entire pizza. Green Pepper....... Only on half of the pizza. Extra Cheese.... All of the pizza. My wife ordered water, and it was Root Beer for me. Our Greek salad was very good... although there wasn't as much as there usually is..... no big deal. When our pizza arrived, my wife and I just stared at it in disbelief. Half of the pizza had pepperoni, light sausage, light jalapeño, and light onion.......no black olives, although there were enough on the other half to put on 2 or 3 pizzas.... It literally looked as if they had dumped an entire can of sliced black olives on half the pizza. And the Green pepper was worse..... although, they managed to get it all on the correct side of the pizza, we had to pull a sizable pile off the pizza to make it somewhat edible....... same thing with the black olives. Since it was later in the evening, it was as if they just dumped the remaining black olives and green peppers on half of a 14" pizza to avoid the cleanup and storage. And again, the amount of green peppers, and the size of the chunks, was something like we've never seen. We literally pulled enough green pepper off that pie..... could have easily been enough to supply an 18" pizza with green peppers, and left the correct amount to more than adequately top half of the 14" pie. Last but not least.... for the second time in a row...... someone pulled out the vacuum cleaner, and began sweeping the floors while my wife and I are trying desperately to salvage our dining experience at Chicago Pizza. If we wanted to listen to a vacuum cleaner, while trying to have an enjoyable experience, we'd just stay home and make our own pizza, and start up the Roomba. I hope this is not the type of dining experience you want to project. Incidentally, the vacuuming started at just a few minutes past 9. I believe what I read was Chicago Pizza was open til 10pm. In my humble opinion, there is no excuse for vacuuming during open business hours...... that should be done after the "closed" sign goes up, and the customers are gone. The only thing our server had to say was "I'm sorry you didn't get your pizza the way you ordered it". Whatever happened to servers checking the order before bringing it to the table? The Italian beef sandwiches were really skimpy. The sweet peppers were undercooked and still raw. The bread was stale.

I have mixed feelings about this place. We ordered 2 Caesar salads with anchovies and although it was tasty, the salad was delivered in huge chunks that required additional cutting ..or putting up with the mess of it getting everywhere. Portion size was very good. We ordered half Hawaiian/half pepperoni. Buying them separately would have been the same price, but they charged us $2.00 extra for the whole pizza for splitting the pizza in half which doesn't make sense. The Hawaiian was not what I expected of a ham and pineapple pizza. It included bacon which threw off the flavor and the ham was a Canadian ham in huge chunks again. I don't think I'll order this again. The pepperoni pizza was ok. As you can see, there's not a lot of pepperoni on the top of the pizza. What they do is add the pepperoni underneath the cheese layer. The taste was not stellar and I think the downtown pizza in Fort Myers in much better. I was really hoping this place would be my new go-to place for pizza but I just wasn't impressed.
