OK Decent pizza. I was asleep when the delivery guy called. I am often asleep b/c I have a neurological disability When I heard my cell phone the driver delivered my pizza and then began to lecture me about my response time. I called the manager of the restaurant and he he had the audacity to lecture me. This is the last time I will order from here. I am really annoyed the the Eastern attitude regarding service. They think you are doing them a favor and then want $ for it. I have encountered this in all aspects of Chicago life. the next time I hear an Eastern European accent at any place I will simply hang up. I am not being racist just looking at the odds. I do not need to be lectured at when I am paying someone to do a service. read more

I ordered (online) a huge delivery meal from them ($50 worth): XL gluten-free pizza, gluten-free calzone, dipping sauces, and large salad. There was a coupon for free boneless buffalo wings for orders over $20, so I asked if they would please provide grilled chicken instead. They called and said they don't do that, and that the chicken is pre-breaded. Fine, so I said skip it and asked the woman to take off any gluten-items. She said she would. She sounded very busy and in a hurry, so I stupidly didn't stress the issue. The food arrived in the time predicted, and was pretty tasty... until I realized my gluten-free pizza had breaded buffalo chicken on it.... which was something I asked her to take off. I looked at my receipt, and sure enough, had a topping charge for buffalo chicken. So, I called. I was very polite, because accidents happen, and though I'm now sick from it, that's a risk you take when you order from somewhere. Instead of apologizing, the guy lectured me about ordering online and trusting the person on the phone to make a decision about what happens in the kitchen. He kept saying I shouldn't order breaded or fried things, and I kept trying to explain I already know that and had asked them to grill it or take it off my order, but he just wasn't listening and kept talking over me. I wasn't even asking for my money back - just a credit for a future pizza, and he made it sound like I had done something wrong. He said I need to phone order and ask to speak to a manager if I have a gluten problem. I'll admit I confused them by ordering buffalo chicken, but I thought it was clear when I told them on the phone and in my online notes. He did give me a credit, that I have to call in for, but I'm not sure I'll order from them again. As grateful as I am that they offer gluten-free, I'm really unhappy about how that just went down. Like Sara says, the lady that answers the phone, Andrea, is really shady. Coupon expired yesterday? No pizza for you. Toppings too confusing for her? No pizza for you. Don't like my accent? No pizza for you. Had a bad day? No pizza for you. This place is very hit or miss. Sometimes its the worst pizza you've ever had, sometimes not. It all depends on how the people there feel about your tone when you order. Awful awful customer service. I hope this place goes out of business and a new true chicago pizzeria buys the spot. I've been going the Chicago Pizza & Pasta for quite awhile and have never been disappointed. I have had the pizza and never been unhappy and the pasta is always great especially the Pollo Porto Fino (my favorite). And I see in a previous review, someone complained about a pizza & pasta place not having a smaller salad and I say "Who Cares!" it's a pizza joint, you want a good salad head on over the Olive Garden, I hear they've got great salads and breadsticks. read more

First thing that caught my eye was delivery til 3am. My husband and I have been ordering from the Montrose location for about a yr now. Service is always quick. We usually order the thin crust, once we ordered chicken wings, shrimp basket but they were not to our liking. We usually order on-line since you get points with every order. After about 12 points (I don't remember the exact amount since my husband usually orders) you get $10 off your next order. Every time that we order we are pleased except for this last time. As I was about to eat my last piece I found a hair baked in with in the cheese. That just grossed me out. My husband emailed and complained but we did not get a response. We complained once before because they gave us the wrong order, that time they responded. We really like Chicago's pizza but with this last experience I don't think we'll be ordering from there anymore. Not from that location at least. Hopefully next time we won't find hair on our pizza, last time I checked that wasn't one of the ingredients offered on the menu. 3 stars only because the pizza is good. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!!! this is the 3rd time i have ordered from here and have not gotten the order that was requested. when i called them to have this resolved i was told that i am wrong and the order they got was correct. i then ask for a district manager and was given a hard time after the manager told me he "didn't understand english too well" so i had to deal with this. unsatisfactory! i am in the industry and i am very aware that mistakes happen from time to time but i correct them, and do not make more of a nuisance of the situation. read more

I am a long time customer and noticed that the customer service has declined throughout the years. Here is what happened to me on my recent order. I had our food (literally) thrown in my face by the driver because apparently we didn't give the correct contact information. If this is the case then your site does not make any sense by giving us an option to put a phone number down in the "Shipping Address" section. Why would you offer this option if you will be ignoring that section? I was told by the Manager on duty, Syliva, that we gave the wrong information and the driver was upset because he couldn't get a hold of us. First, if the phone didn't work, wouldn't you just ring our buzzer??? Secondly, wouldn't you automatically call the restaurant and get a new number in case the one on file is not working? Apparently the driver didn't think to do this and got upset and decided to lash out at us instead of taking the high road. Thirdly, the manager refused to hear my side and ignored everything I had to say and kept on repeating that I wrote down the incorrect information under my contact information. After arguing with her she finally thought it would be nice of her to give us a $10.00 credit towards our next purchase. She basically thought she was doing us a favor. Finally, after I got off the phone with the Manager (very upset) I looked at the receipt and the receipt had my CORRECT number on it. All of this arguing with something that was correct in the first place. Extremely upset and you just lost a customer and several others for life unless something can be done to remedy my anger. Apparently for this company it's appropriate to take out your anger on customers and to not read the receipts properly before getting upset at the customer. read more

Chicago's Pizza has the WORST customer service ever. Their pizza is decent if you're willing to deal with dumb, rude phone girls.

Well, it's official. I drunk-dialed Chicago's and ordered a pizza at about 2:30 am the other night, and then I fell asleep and never collected said pizza. I wonder what will happen to me in the future when I try to order delivery sober, during the day. Chicago's has good food and even though the dining room is weird, I usually take people here when Spacca Napoli is too crowded (always). I recommend the Chicken Marsala with steamed veggies. I came here once with a couple friends when they still had a full bar (I believe it's just beer and wine now). I ordered a Kahlua and coffee and the waitress seemed surprisingly confused by the request. She walked back to the kitchen and then reappeared a few minutes later and asked me "How many tablespoons of Kahlua would you like in your coffee?" Now, I have been drinking for many years in many countries around the world, and no one has EVER asked me how many tablespoons of any liquor I wanted. "However many tablespoons equal a shot," I suggested. She took that back to the kitchen and returned to the table again, and asked, "Do you want a coffee with a shot of Kahlua on the side?" "No..." I said, "Just pour the shot into the coffee and serve it to me as one thing." It was still brought to me as a Kahlua shot and a cup of coffee. It was one of the weirdest things that has ever happened to me at a restaurant. read more

Simple order, took an hour to deliver. I received stale, tasteless garlic bread. Yea an Italian eatery screwing up something as basic as garlic bread. The pizza I received was lukewarm and really not worth $11. Not the best money spent, and not somewhere I will continue to do business. read more

Took a friend here for her first stuffed pizza experience, and everything was good. The prices are very reasonable, and portions are generous. Waitstaff was very friendly and restaurant is very clean. One of the best features of this pizzeria is how late it stays open. They also have a separate grab n go area, where you can get quick slices. This is not the best pizza in the city, but it is reliable and in a very nice part of town. read more

The pizza here is pretty good, I will start with that. However, the customer service that we received at this place will make me never order from here again. We ordered for delivery and was told about an hour for the pizza. After waiting approximately 1 1/2 hours, we received the pizza and found a lop-sided pizza, cheese all on one half of the pizza. This pizza looked horrible. I used to deliver so I know mistakes happen, but it was how Miguel (manager) and the driver handled it that upsets me. I called an explained the mistake, Miguel said he was sorry and would send another one and that the driver would pick up the other one. We waited another hour to get the pizza and as stated, the driver took the pizza back. Really? No discount, they wouldn't leave the pizza, just replaced the mistake with a new one. I asked the driver why he wouldn't leave the old pizza and was told "don't ask me, I'm just the driver." The driver is obviously the face of the organization and failed to meet a certain level of experience for the price of the pizza. I called Miguel and asked what else he was going to do and he said "We will bring the old pizza back and you can have that." No pizza was brought back, no apologies about waiting two hours for the pizza and nothing was done to ensure we would return to that place for future business after the mistake. Miguel and the driver need to learn that even if your pizza is good, we don't OWE you business. We are your customers and should be treated correctly. We will never order from here again and I want to let them know it's not just about pizza, you work in a service industry and need to act accordingly. Thanks but no thanks Chicago Pizza. read more

I just moved from California and was not totally convinced of deep dish. I know Chicago pizza snobs may not like it as much as other famous pizza places, but I think this deep dish is so flavorful and delicious. Totally recommend it! read more

Okay...I've been a huge advocate of Chicago's Pizza for over 10 years...I no longer can recommend this restaurant and it saddens me deeply. The past several meals I've ordered from them the quality has been sub par at best. The vegetables in the salads have not been fresh, there hasn't been a lot of chicken in the dishes, and tonight I had the trifecta of bruised apples, wilted lettuce, and the bonus hair. read more

Ordered from here plenty of times throughout the years, and slowly but surely the quality of food and service have both been declining. Tonight was kinda the last straw. I ordered a sandwich with a side of fries at approximately 9:40 P.M. using Grubhub. At 10:30 I got the order. It was missing the fries. At first, I thought perhaps it was the fault of the third party, but the reciept (and my debit card statement) say I ordered them. I called, and they said they would send out the fries. An hour later, I never recieved them. I called again, and they said they sent them out and that they called me and I never answered. I never recieved a call, or had a doorbell ring, or anything to get my attention. They offered to contact Grubhub and get me a credit to my account, but if I wanted to have more money and less fries, I would have decided not to order them. read more

Customer service is a trait this restaurant does not stride in. The girl who took my order was very immature and when I asked for grilled onions on my sandwich she said, " we don't have grilled onions". She put me on hold to find out if they had grilled onions. This makes me laugh so hard. After she took my order she hung up on me while I was still talking. She failed to ask if she could help me with anything else. WELL YES YOU COULD. How about letting me finish telling you that I have a coupon, and also I need the driver to call when he gets here. Truly meh. And inconsistent. I stop in for slices regularly and sometimes they give you a nice big piece, and others a tiny little narrow one. I love the pizza here! the service however is lacking very much. I went on a thursday and the sign said they closed at 11pm. It was 9;30 and this spanish young woman came to the door and said " we are closed" and started to walk us out. I said " but the sign says closed at 11" her response was an eye roll and " i said we are closed" Like i said horrible service but great pizza. Went there with my wife and another couple to have what had been my favorite pizza forever. I ordered our pizza and it was brought to us under the thirty minutes the waitress told us it would take. I was so disappointed because the pizza tasted like a frozen pizza I could gave made at home. I was embarrassed for bringing my wife and friends there. I normally order from the Chicago Pizza on Irving Park and I didn't pay attention to the location this time around. However after placing an order and waiting an hour and half I called in to check on the status. A Fernando (supposedly the manager) answered the phone and informed us the pizza was in route. After requesting a specific time frame he then informs me that they already attempted to deliver the pizza and they attempted to call. No one called and no one attempted to deliver anything. After requesting to speak with the manager he abruptly responds that he is the manager. I then ask to speak with the owner and he states that he doesn't know who that is. I asked to speak with who ever is his superior and couldn't provide any information. I asked for his name and all he could provide was "Fernando". Extremely disrespectful and I would never order from this specific location again. They can care less about their customers and that is very disappointing. read more

This place has an enormous menu, and everything on it is available for delivery until an ungodly hour of the morning. That in itself would be enough for most of the last call crowd, but not being a night owl, I often ordered from Chicago's 1-2 times a week, during the day or evening, solely due to all the delicious fare. The variety was enough to never get tired of ordering from the same restaurant week after week, for years. To name just a small percentage of my favorites, I'm in love with the eggplant parmigiana, the veggie wrap (which I believe they took off the menu- tear), the grilled calamari, the eggplant appetizer, and all of their soups. And believe, you me, there's more. In fact, I've ordered maybe twenty+ dishes from this place, and have never been disappointed. I moved into a Chicago's-free zone, and I kid you not, I still crave their food to this day. It's not pricey, so even ordering as often as I did didn't send break the bank. A definite must-have if you live in the area. read more
