Heads up, I ordered pick up so I can't fully comment on the service or ambiance. I used the online order process and that wasn't too easy to use. I had to go back and to correct the order. Once I picked up the order the staff was nice just nothing over the top. This tends to be typical so I wasn't worried about the order. The pizza in my opinion was AMAZING! Went here for the first time with my wife. We ordered a Chicago style pizza, salad and garlic bread with cheese (by recommendation from our waitress). The salad came out first and for a side salad, it was huge! Plenty of veggies in it and fresh. The bread came out next and was some of the best garlic cheese bread we have ever had! Plenty of melty cheese and had a fresh garlic flavor to it, not that garlic powder added to butter that most places use. The Chicago style pizza took about 40-45 minutes to come out, which is to be expected, and was flavorful and again full of melty cheese. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant and making it our go-to for pizza from now on! read more

I ordered pizza from Chicago's Pizza for the very first time, and that created all sorts of confusion. I will start by saying that I am a pizza fan, but I order regular hand tossed pizza. This was my first-time getting Chicago pizza. I opted for this place because it had some solid reviews. This pizza was flavorful. It is not my usual, as mentioned, but it was full of cheese and toppings. It was absolutely a deep dish, and the crust was perfectly cooked. I have no point of comparison to other Chicago style pizzas, but I will say that this one was tasty. The place itself seemed a little hole in the wall from outside but was exceptionally clean and welcoming inside. Prices were actually very good, considering the size of the pizza. I really have only one complaint. Not knowing the structure look of Chicago pizza, I was surprised, when I got home, at the no cheese (only sauce) topping. That is on me, since I was not familiar with the pizza look. I knew it was pie-like and toppings were inside but thought cheese would be on top. I called Chicago's Pizza to let them know there was no topping. She asked me if I had opened it?! What did that mean?! Of course, I had opened it! That is why I was calling! She said she would have to see it before she could help me. Now, while this place is not located on the other side of town for me, it is not around the corner either. When I got there, she took a fork, parted the top from the bottom a bit, and showed me the toppings, including cheese. Ah!!! I just wish I did not have to drive back and forth to understand. Called in to place an order, since it takes an hour for this to be ready. Although, for a mini, I don't know that it should take this long? Decided on a mini Chicago style pepperoni and an order of meatballs. The pizza was a mini, for sure! But, it was packed with so much that two slices were more than enough. We are native NYers and by all means please be clear that this review is based on the deep dish pizza. It is layers of bread almost as if it were a lasagna. The crust is hard and we just kind of took that hard crust at the end off. The toppings are actually underneath so you will not see them on top of your pizza. Being that we took a late lunch due to the work demand and going out of our way for our customers we only had the mini Chicago Pizza and it was good but was little disappointed compared to some of the restaurants and hole in wall pizza joints we ate at in the Windy City. As for our meals, we had ordered the garlic bread as an app, we had both ordered a salad hers with ranch and mine with thousand island since there no house nor itallian dressing. She had ordered spaghetti with marinara and I got a bit risky and ordered a mini pizza with crab and bell peppers. I have not seen crab as an option before so I figured why not. Our app came out and the marinara that came with it was a bit greasy, but did taste fairly well once dripping out the oil. The garlic was present in taste, nothing heavy. The salads were both good lettuce looked good, no browned pieces. When our meals came out, Trying this pizza the dough tasted like it was freshly made a bit soggy on the bottom, but the crust was decent, no added seasoning. The cheese was nice and the sauce unassuming, but no complaints, wasn't sweet nor salty, a bit bland I guess if I had to make one, as for the crab, definitely had a imitation crab meat taste, it was very sweet. I cant say I would recommend it out to anyone. It does look like a decent bite, but not the best. Now for my poor wife. She had to add quite a bit of salt and pepper as well the parmesan, Then as she was eating just she found a short hair in her food. (I specify short for the fact, I'm a Male with shoulder length hair, and my wife's hair is well below her chest) We alerted the waitress, and as she came over she apologized, as she was talking low and behold a little roach ran up the wall and she killed it with her rag. We contemplated leaving, but figured we give it a chance for a new dish. Being this was our lunch before making the 5 hour drive home. As she brings it out she states "We dont know how that happened, the chef is girl and doesnt have short hair." All we have seen as far as other employees was her a short haired Male whom came out to change the channel to soccer, and an older Male whom came out to the soda fountain. No other woman in sight. My wife tried this dish heavily inspecting the dish adding all that she had to add before. But as seeing yet another roach on the wall, she said no. I told the waitress we were done, since I ate my whole pizza, I still insisted on a check, the waitress said we'll call it $20 nothing more, Running quick math in my head to see if that seemed reasonable Saved roughly $8 which would have been close to the cost of her meal. So whatever. I cant say this place is really woth it. The woman is decent and it seemed like they had some regulars or friends who knew them well enough to ha a party here and chat with her before the other would have shown up. This has a very neighborhood mom and pop pizza place vibe. They have TVs stationer throughout the dinning area mostly playing sports. I'm certain the reason people come in is for the deep dish pizza and it's a great reason! We came in and seated ourselves and a waitress came up to give us a menu and take our drink orders. We ordered the "Buy one regular price Chicago style get one salad free". Since I'm a vegetarian we went with the cheese Chicago style. She brought out the salad first and they had about 3 different dressing options. The salad is a typical garden salad. It was a good size for us two we were able to have about two bowls each. The pizza came out fresh and really great size for two. It was flavorful and cheesy. Our pizza was 8 slices (I can't remember what size that is) but for the two of us it was plenty. We ended up taking half home to eat for another day. This restaurant offers other menu items such as Italian pizza, HH beer only, pasta, desserts, and lunch specials. They seem like they'd also make for a good office luncheon as they have pasta trays and salad trays. Overall, I found the service to be great and the food very enjoyable. So I have never been to Chicago to try their classic pizza casserole, because I have to say that is what this is. It is no thin NY style slice, this is the equivalent of a lasagna with dough, and of so delicious. Something hit me the other day and I decided I wanted to get some Chicago style deep dish pizza, so I went to Chicago's Pizza, I had not been in a fair while, but this spot was originally recommended to me when I first moved San Antonio. I called ahead for carry out, but even if you are eating in it is recommended to call your order ahead, as it takes about 45 minutes to bake these behemoths, the restaurant itself recommends doing this on their menus and adds. I decided on the Chicago style veggie, which comes with mushrooms, onions, and green peppers, I decided with the amount of cheese and everything it would be heavy enough without added meat. I also ordered their cheese sticks, which are mozzarella sticks, I was actually searching for a cheesy bread but didn't ask about it and just ordered them. The cheese sticks were fine, but fairly standard in my opinion, good but nothing too outstanding, similar to the flavor I would get baking them at home, though the sauce that came with them was good. It seemed to be a homemade marinara with visible herbs in it, overall a satisfying appetizer. On to the real reason for our visit. The Chicago style pizza, about an inch and a half deep, covered in sauce, with cheese and your fillings beneath. In my case we had the veggies, and there were nice size pieces of all throughout the cheesy mass. The crust is rich and buttery, with a flaky almost biscuity flavor and texture at times, so rich and satisfying, and fat different from NY or Neapolitan style pizza, all good just vastly different meals. This is not a pick up and fold pizza, it requires a plate and a knife and fork to properly dig into. The large pizza makes many meals, you are not going to eat through three or four pieces of this in a single sitting very easily, one or two should be more than enough to fill you up. So if you are looking for some good Chicago style pizza in San Antonio, or want to try something new, come give it a try, I doubt you will be disappointed with this massive slab of pie. read more

The pizza it self had a buttery tasting crust with Amazing flavor! The sauce used was simply amazing. I was surprised by how big the wings were. Most restaurants have anorexic ones. Let me also say, with the mess of Corvid going on it's hard for some restaurants to stay open. My experience in order... The technology is confusing, incorrect and inconvenient. I got a text saying ready between 3:16-3:31. Then I get a message from the app at 3:19 saying it was ready for pick up. The app offered curbside and said to call when we got there. I called and said we were there to pick up and the lady stayed quiet. I told her the app said to call when we got there. She said it still needed 7 minutes. So, the text and app aren't correct with anything. We waited 15 minutes and called back to check. Okay, its ready but you need to come inside. Okay fine. We ordered 2 side salads....they had to be thrown away....I can't explain how bad the salad was. The lettuce was brown and mushy....the baby carrots were mostly white and completely hanging limp.
