Pizza is a fairly common Sunday staple for our family. Hoping to mix it up we went with Chicago's. Man, that Chicago style is delish! The pizza is heavy! You shouldn't need to many pieces, but the crust is light and flakey, the sauce is very flavorful, and cheese is laid on heavy! It was a winner with our family! If I'm going to have Chicago style pizza, this is where I'm going. They have the fresh ingredients, and the best crust. It's sturdy enough for all those toppings without getting soggy. The edges are not super thick, taking up too much room, and the crust has a nice light buttery flavor. I love the sauce, somehow it doesn't upset my stomach like others do because it isn't as acidic I guess. I don't know, it's magical and worth every cheat day calorie. Aside from that the prices are reasonable as they are generous sized portions. Call it in, pick it up and enjoy at home without worrying about it getting soggy or anything like that. The prices are really fair for the amount and quality of food you're getting. Too bad this doesn't apply to the poor quality of service. We ordered the seafood deep dish and it was delicious! Huge pieces (and pie) for about $26. We were informed it was a 40 minute wait, but well worth the wait. Too bad they didn't honor the Yelp check in offer of a free small Italian pizza, but oh well. (TIP) We also wanted to order wings, but the waitress did not check on us for about 20 minutes. We asked how long wings would take and she replied 10-15 minutes. We said we would order them as long as they came before the pizza and she replied they would definitely be out sooner. The wings came out 10-12 mins AFTER the pizza. Although the wings were not very tasty, they were really meaty and a good deal at 10 wings for $10. When it came time to pay, none of the 4 employees standing behind the register acknowledged me. 40 minute wait for deep dish. I wish I'd known that before I came. They let you call it in ahead of time so I guess I'll try that next time. This time I just ordered a regular pizza that only took 20 minutes. They are surprisingly accurate with their estimates because it was 20 minutes on the dot. The pizza was pretty decent but I was really disappointed when I presented the Yelp coupon for a free small Italian pizza and they said "we don't do that anymore." In fact, the server said they haven't done it in a loooooong time. Well how come nobody has updated it with Yelp then? I really wanted to love this place but it was rather forgettable. Being it's one of the only places in SA to get Chicago style pizza, I was super excited but it was a miss. The dough tasted like it was from a pillsbury dough can. We went to Chicago's pizza looking for a decent deep dish. Upon arrival, we were not greeted or told to be seated. There was a sign that said please seat yourself. The table we sat at was a bit dirty, so I wiped it down a bit. We sat waiting for about 10-15 minutes before I asked if we had to order at the counter. The gentleman said they would come up to us. The waitress finally came up to greet us. She took our order, I ordered a salad and a large Chicago style pizza. The salad came out in a timely manner. The pizza took about 35 minutes, which was expected. It was pretty good. Not the best I have had, but pretty decent. I can without question state that the pizza needed more sauce. The main reason for adding a review is because I wish someone had added that it takes 45 minutes for the deep dish pizza to cook. It's completely understandable, it was just unexpected. If we would've known, we would've called ahead to order so we didn't have to wait as long. The reason for 4 stars isn't related to the food. This is a small, very plain restaurant. Let the pictures do the talking. The Chicago style pizzas are thick and hearty and definitely something you should try once. I can eat an entire frozen pizza no problem and could only eat two slices of this delicious beast. The crust was unreal and buttery flaky. There was just the right amount of sauce and it had a good blend of spices. The cheese and meats were all great. Truly though the crust is what set this pizza apart from the norm for me and that's saying something because I typically don't even eat the crust.
