On the date I am writing this Chicagos has closed and has been put up for sale. We are very sorry to hear this. It was a great restaurant and was our number one go-to place to eat and relax in the north Atlanta area. The food was great, the prices reasonable and the people very friendly. Free parking and good middle of the road music also I know they had a bad inspection and were working to fix that but evidently just ran out of time. This happens at a lot of restaurants and can be corrected. I can only say if they come back -even in some relatively remote semblance of Chicago's- they have at least three reliable customers standing by. Come on back boys! I've loved this place forever and a day; I rarely give a negative review. We invited our friends out to dinner for Valentine's Day, 2026. We all had different meals. Our friends shared dessert. They were up all night with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. A few weeks later, we found Chicago's scored a 69 on their Ga. DPH food safety inspection, with multiple violations for Time/Temperature Controls. I'll probably go back, but only after I see a 100 on their DPH inspection. read more

The good: It was close by and able to reserve a table on resy. Also our waiter was very good. Large menu with lots of choices. The not so great: my main course. It's a steak and seafood restaurant and my steak was not good. I ordered the beef tips on mashed potatoes. Medium. They were over cooked and smothered in a tasteless sauce. The meat was not seasoned. I had high hopes as the menu had a wide variety and I debated over my order. The kids pasta with chicken looked good and I was jealous of their alfredo and red sauce meals! We also ordered the steak bruschetta, as an appetizer, that was ok although very light on the steak. I probably would skip this restaurant the next time I'm in the area. Hubby and I had passed by this place so many times. It was on my radar to try it, but they open at 5 pm and we are early birds, so waiting until 5 pm for dinner is not something we typically like to do. But when my hubby had a later than usual meeting at work that delayed us anyway, we decided to finally give Chicago's a try. It was obvious from the moment we walked in that this would likely be added to our favorite places list. The ambiance is nice, service is great, and the food is delicious! Despite having to delay our dinnertime preference, we have been back several times since and it has not disappointed us. The French dip sandwich is easily the best I've had in Roswell. The prime rib is amazing, the ribeye was cooked to perfection, the wings with white sauce have an incredible and unique flavor that we just loved, and that hot bacon honey mustard dressing on their house salad is to die for. The garlic mashed potatoes are, I think, the best thing on the menu and I am not typically a fan of mashed potatoes. We have had multiple dishes here in our handful of visits and have thoroughly enjoyed each one, except for the fettuccine alfredo. That was the only dish I did not care for and that was because it did not have much cheese at all. The alfredo sauce was more milky than cheesy, so I would not recommend it and would not order it again, but everything else we have had has been fantastic. We have had a different server with every visit and each one of them was wonderful. I'm originally from Roswell and Chicago's was one of my go to restaurants. My favorite dish on the menu is the Pecan crusted chicken with sweet potato purée and bing cherry sauce. When you're in the south you have to try fried green tomatoes then you'll be craving them as much as I do. They have a piano bar with live music to set the mood for your evening. Service is excellent and timely so your dish is always served hot. read more

We have been here a number of times. The first time we went was 2015. It was average...nothing noticeable. The second time we went was in 2019. The in-laws suggested we try it again while they were visiting and could watch the kids. We did. We went in at 5pm with the men and women from the assisted living facility close by! They came in on a bus...fun! But the food was great the second time. The flavor was good and it rivaled other steak houses we love. The last time we went was with friends and it was the best night. First time diner at Chicago's. Our server, Juliane, was delightful and read our table very well. Spinach and artichoke appetizer was delicious and the bar tender was on point with the drink options. Try the peppermint chocolate martini - you won't be disappointed. I had the steak tips which were cooked well and served over mashed potatoes. My friend had chicken piccata which was cooked well and the portions were huge. We were celebrating a birthday and even got a feee piece of chocolate fudge cake. Prices are on par with other steak houses. While it was a nice evening there wasn't a WOW factor that made it truly memorable and worthy of a 5-star, but a nice evening nonetheless the less. read more

Review is 3.5 mostly based on the customer service. Our server was friendly, informative and attentive. The food was fine nothing we tried stood out as outstanding. Only issue the cook took three tries on a medium well cooked steak. Restaurant was clean and ambiance of a typical steak house. Prices were inline with other steak houses. I've always loved Chicagos, but had a bad experience there for my husband's special birthday 2 years ago. I had not been back since that time until last night. What a delightful experience. It was a large party celebrating a birthday. Everyone's food was top notch. My husband had swordfish that was so delicious, I had chicken piccata, again delicious. The tomahawk pork chop with smashed potatoes were so enviable, my husband can't wait to go back and try it. Service was excellent. I really cannot say enough about how good it was. Date of visit & review: 8/10/23 We have always found Chicagos to be an upscale, but not "stuffy" dining option in the East Cobb area. And while it has been years since our last visit (Covid happened, life happened, etc) we returned today, and were pleased to see that it is just as elegant and friendly as ever. This is what is so unique... it's not a chain, and the food and service is thoughtful. The prices are not cheap, but the quality of the food and the portions justify it. Note that they don't up-charge you left and right either. It is a friendly place, the servers know the menu and they take good care of their patrons. This all takes place in a setting where you will be comfortable in jeans / t shirt or dressed up a bit. Your choice. Our excellent server today was Stacey. The host at the door, who greeted and sat us was personable and friendly, I'm sorry that I didn't catch his name. I go to Chicago's on almost a weekly basis to play trivia or just to enjoy a good meal. We eat and drink all night long while playing and I can truly say that I have never had a bad meal or service. Everything I've ever eaten (and I've been coming here since the place opened, a lifetime ago) has been magnificent, and I frequently bring groups of people here for gatherings. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful place in my neighborhood, where "everybody knows your name!" and the wait staff makes you feel like a friend, not just a customer! read more

Enjoyed dinner for NYE with a party of 10 and the service was spot on. All the entrees were delicious especially the scallops and all the cuts of meat. The grilled salmon was popular at the table. We have been going to Chicago's since the year it opened. There have been several ownership changes over the years. I am glad to say with rare exception the quality of the food and service has never changed. The servers are obviously well trained and understand how much they add to the enjoyment of a meal at Chicago's. On our last visit we had Julian to take care of us. She had a large smile and a positive attitude and made sure every thing was taken care of. While we were there our server from our last visit recognized us and came over to just say she was glad to see us. I had a unique drink request and the bar tender took care of it. This is our first visit since the new ownership/management took over and we were very disappointed. The only shining star was our server. We don't mind paying a higher price for good food but the quality of our meals was greatly lacking. I remember the Steak and Frites of the old Chicagos, but what I was served paled in comparison... the meat was overcooked, the arugula was old without any dressing and the fries were NOT hand cut. I can understand why the Yelp community is lukewarm on Chicago's. Me too. We made a reservation for Friday night. The hostess tried seating us at a table in a busy back corner of the restaurant; it was less than two feet from a register, placing us uncomfortably close to the wait staff as they rang their orders. We asked to be moved. Immediately, the hostess tried sitting another couple there, but they refused the table, as well. The service was average. We received our food and refills (when we asked), but that was it. It felt impersonal and average. I captured a picture of my order: the crispy shrimp platter. The shrimp was great, hush puppies (2) were slightly overcooked, and the fries were soft and a little soggy. My boyfriend ordered the same thing and described his food the same way. We love crispy fries, so that was disappointing. We didn't send anything back - we just made it work We heard live music coming from the bar area and they sounded really good. They were playing jazz. No one came to the table for 10-15 min after our hostess plopped water in the table, another waitress told us our table was out of service and would see who could help us. Another 10-15 minutes later a waiter arrived. We ordered everything so he did t have to come back. 15-20 minutes layered we got our soup. Another 10 minutes my salad and my husband's entree came. There isn't an adjective I can use to summarize my experience at Chicago's in one word. This experience was a night out of a fairy tale and I departed in complete satisfaction as it relates to the food, service, ambiance, and value. Upon arrival I was greeted by two hostesses who both had a smile and greeted me with pleasant welcomes. I made my reservation via Open Table and was super happy that my table was ready upon my arrival. Within moments of being seated, I was greeted by Ann Marie. She presented a very inviting welcome and you could feel her smile radiate from beneath her mask. As this was my first time at this restaurant I had quite a few questions and each one was met with a complete answer and great recommendations. Ann Marie displayed a level of professionalism and customer focused service that makes you enjoy time on site even more. As my appetizer I decided to get carby and order the Basket of 4 Honey Butter Croissants and all I can say is, whew. The ratio of butter to honey presents a perfect balance of sweet and salty that plays well with the flaky croissant. This is a great dish to have alone or with a cup of tea/coffee. It presents itself as a play on sweet bread. Loved it! As my entree I went with the Cowboy Ribeye (Ann Marie's recommendation) paired with the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Before I tell you my experience, let me say, I knew coming I wanted a steak. The reviews on Open Table praised the steak and I was in a steak kind of mood. Ann Marie helped me decide between the Cowboy Ribeye and Filet Mignon. The ribeye was a perfect cut of meat and had a nice fat to meat ratio. It was perfectly grilled and provided a hint of char to allow your tongue to get lost in its layers. As it sat on the plate in its own juices the steak provided a nice natural gravy to the well flavored garlic mashed. This pairing is one that truly fills you up and satisfies the desire for a "Good Meal!" My compliments to the chef as this was a steak to remember. As if the night couldn't get any better. We happened to go on a night where a portion of the proceeds were going to one of the local charities. Talk about a great reason to order even more food. As such I ended up with the Carrot Cake. The layered perfection of frosting and cake put me in a total zone. The cake was flavored exactly as a carrot cake should be. It had a great balance of sweet and earthy (carroty) goodness. The frosting is sweetened to perfection to sit on the cake and add that added burst of sugar satisfaction. This restaurant is an absolute MUST TRY! I use to eat at Chicago's a lot when they had a place on Old Alabama Road several miles away from this location, was so glad to discover this location is every bit as good as I remember their old spot. Their steaks are amazing as is the seafood (highly recommend the scallops) but my favorite entree here is actually the pecan crusted chicken with cherry sauce. It's sweet and savory somehow and the portions are really good. Also highly recommend starting with either the She Crab Bisque or the calamari, both amazing. Sorry, can't recommend any desserts as I haven't tried any yet, their portions are so big, I never have room. This is a pretty popular spot for dinner and their dining space isn't huge so I recommend making a reservation to avoid a long wait. Ask to be seated in Kyle's section, he'll take good care of you, he knows the menu well and is great at matching wines with entrees. read more

We have seen this place a few time and came in a whim. The last review of a birthday party raving about this place, mentioning a server named Kyle, plus this place not having any loud TV's convinced us to give it a try. French onion soup is perfect, if you like a good French onion soup. They also have these croissants drizzled lightly with heavenly sauce that comes that you should get. It was my birthday. And everyone wants a special evening out, dinner, to celebrate their personal holiday. My daughter, whose birthday was in a couple days, recommended Chicago's. And we were not disappointed. Kyle was our waiter. We initially only told him that it was my birthday. And because he was taking such good care of me, we mentioned it was hers as well. I'll try not to make this too long! We both had a Lemon Drop Martini. It was my first ever martini and it was very good. Then we ordered the Charleston She Crab Soup. I had the Steak Tips and she had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon. Kyle kept checking on us to make sure we were OK. Then as a special treat, we were both presented with a slice of chocolate cake for dessert. I can't say enough about our experience. The food was superb. We recently went to Chicago's for dinner with a group of 12 after our daughter's high school graduation. I had never heard of it before but when looking for dinner reservations on a Friday night at 7pm for a group of 12 a restaurant app recommended this place. The menu looked good so we decided to give it a shot. Although pricier than what we would normally go for, everyone agreed dinner was delicious! The ambiance was perfect, our server had a great attitude and was very attentive. And did I mention the food was good? The family especially loved the bruschetta. So. It's our second visit to Chicago's. They host trivia on Thursday nights. Which is what brought us in the first time. This is a high end restaurant in a grocery strip mall. The atmosphere is Dark, Candlelight, Woody and Clubby. You can see the kitchen as you walk by. Our server was amazing. She brought our drinks before we asked for them. She told me they are known for their martinis and old fashioned. I was so tempted! Hubs ordered French dip and I ordered the 10oz Prime Rib with fully loaded baked potato. We started w a wedge salad. If you like a heavy hand with salt and pepper on all food, fatty steak tips and shredded crab cakes you will love this restaurant. It's been years since I have eaten here and the atmosphere is the same but the food and service is not. Our waitress took 30 minutes to take our order and although we were enjoying the conversation it was too long. Between the sub-par food, poor service and expensive prices I would give Chicagos a 2 out of 10. With little choices for fine dining in our area, I will eat at home next time. We went for NYE with a 6:30 reservation. We weren't seated until 7:40. I have never waited so long for a table with a reservation (we were only a party of 2). The bar was too crowded to get a drink while we waited with only one bartender working on NYE. After we were seated service was very slow. I'm not blaming the people working, they were all working very hard and doing all they could do. I think they took more reservations than they could handle. At no point did a manager visit the table to apologize and explain what happened. He/she really should have been going table to table. We probably won't be back. read more

This is a review for the Speakeasy only. Been coming here weekly for years, mostly on Wednesday night. The last few times I have been there have me rethinking where I want to spend my time & money. No one greets you, it's no longer unusual to wait 20 minutes for someone to take your drink order & then another 15 minutes to get your drink. Really thinking that you shouldn't have to wait 35 minutes to get a drink in a BAR. Staff seems unable to manage the crowd and annoyed that we're there. The part I hate is that this used to be one of my favorite restaurants. read more
