Paid an extra $5 for a pint container of green sauce. So worth it. Sides were Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, red potatoes, and corn. All delicious. Came here due to the recommendation of a friend. Was pretty excited because I've heard a lot of good things. We ordered a whole chicken as well as a whole rack of ribs, which came with four sides. The chicken was pretty good; I liked how it was moist and the flavor was there with each bite. Dipping it in the green sauce made it even better. In terms of the ribs, they did give a lot of meat, which was surprising. I also did like the flavor of the ribs - you didn't really need the sauce to eat, which was really nice. The grilled smoky flavor that you look for in barbecue is present in both meats for sure. In terms of the sides, the macaroni and cheese, corn, and mashed potatoes were all pretty average. They do add a lot of seasoning to the potatoes which overpowers the taste. I enjoyed the rice the most, as it was really moist and went well with the meat. As a heads up, the food took about an hour to get ready, which wasn't really a bad thing as I think they were making the food fresh. The person at the cashier also gave a lot of extra sauce which is always a plus! In terms of the pandemic precautions, they do not allow indoor dining and there are barriers between the cashier and the ordering area. There's also sanitizer use available to the public as well as floor designations to mark where to stand for proper social distancing. Ordered for delivery around 4 pm and it was told it would be at least an hour before getting my food. Not sure why it was going to take that long thinking that lunch was over and it was a couple hours before dinner time. The hotel im staying in is pretty much right across the street (Anchor Inn). I was wrong. It was enough for the next 3 days. This was enough food for 2 people for at least 2 days. The Half Chicken and Half Ribs Combo($30.50) can feed a small family of 4 for dinner. I got the Buttered Corn Kernels and Seasoned Red Potatoes. Also added a small Cucumber Salad($2.50). The chicken itself had a good smoky aroma and flavor to it. You can tell that it was on the grill for a bit. It was pretty good and not dry at all. The ribs had the same characteristics but it looks like they boil it first before throwing it on the grill. I love ribs and order it every time I see it on the menu. I even love to cook my ribs at home whether in the oven or on the grill. I don't ever boil my ribs and the ones they serve here has that consistency. The cucumber salad did not appeal to me at all. It didn't seem fresh. The cucumbers were dry. I tried to eat at least 2 cucumbers but was turned off by how dry it was. The buttered corn kernels were just corn from a can, drained and then they threw some butter on top of it and microwaved it. I think they microwaved it a bit too long for the corn was a little mushy. The seasoned red potatoes were on point. Good seasoning and the potatoes were cooked just right. Not too mushy and not hard. Service was great from ordering on the phone to having it delivered just after 60 minutes. In closing, I would order from these guys again, just the 1/4 option instead of the 1/2. Finally tried this place out the other day after having it bookmarked for a while. Went about 15 minutes prior to closing and there were a handful of people waiting for their orders at the door. Definitely call-in your order ahead of time to cut your wait time in half. After about a 20 minute wait, I had their 1/4 chicken and ribs combo with a side of mac and cheese and corn. The portion size was huge as it took me several meals to finish the entire platter. The meat was well seasoned, but a little on the salty side for my taste. The sides were nothing to write home about, but their salsa verde was definitely the best I've had. Overall, this is a solid place to get your heavy food cravings satisfied. Although their portion sizes have significantly decreased now, their prices have not changed much. Depending if the cashier likes you or not, she will charge you tax on your order. There are very few places in the area where you can get delicious grilled chicken/bbq ribs with two sides and a drink for under $15. 5 stars for their green sauce. So glad to have Chicken Lovers back! The place was closed for a few months during the pandemic, but it's a dream come true to have this restaurant back. If you don't know about Chicken Lovers and want to know more, they are well known for their green sauce!! I'm only slightly serious, as they have good chicken (it's in the name) and ribs along with other tasty side dishes. I do mean what I said about the green sauce though as it is that GOOD! It's addicting, almost like a drug, as you want to slather it on almost anything else you order from Chicken Lovers and on anything you have it at home. Want to give your chicken a little kick and some more flavor? Just pour that sauce all over your chicken! Not sure what that pita bread is for? Rip a piece and dunk it into the sauce! You can never go back to plain old barbecue sauce or whatever you use to dip your pita bread in. The sauce is easily the one thing worth coming for. It's the main star and the chicken and ribs are the supporting cast. In all seriousness, I do love the ribs, as they are juicy and full of flavor. They're good on their own, as they have this nice char and a hint of sweetness from the glaze on it, but they are infinitely better when you pour that green sauce all over. The chicken is good too, but I personally think it needs the green sauce unlike the ribs. If you still got room, there's plenty of sides and in particular, I'm always a fan of the Mac & Cheese and the rice because you can pour the sauce all over it. Well, you can do that with the rest of the sides too, but sauce + carbs = heavenly bliss! Anyways, Chicken Lovers is a must if you're in the neighborhood. They've been closed during the COVID pandemic for 2 months, and I have been stalking their business Facebook for status updates to see when they would re-open. Word must spread fast because 2 days after reopening we called for takeout and they had a 30+ minute wait at 3pm. When my husband picked up the food there was always a constant line (not too long though). Food is good as ever! My favorite side is the rice, but literally all the sides are good! The mash potatoes were okay. Didn't come with enough gravy and I recommend adding butter or sour cream to the mash potatoes for more flavor. The corn was a bit bland and tasteless. The best side was their rice. If anyone ever had hai nan ji fan from a Malaysian restaurants, you'll know what I'm talking about. Their rice is very similar to that style of rice. It's very aromatic and flavorful. It goes very well with their chicken and ribs. Verdict - Complete Wowzers! Hands down the best meal I had during mid winter recess. I compared Chicken Lovers to that Peruvian Chinese chicken and rib spot in Woodside. Chicken Lovers is way better than that joint. Everything from food quality to price. A meal at the Woodside joint would easily run you up to $100 for no good reason, dry ribs, dry chicken, overpriced fried rice. Chicken Lovers delivers big time! I highly recommend ordering ahead, and I'm glad they are finally on Uber eats! The line is almost always out the door so better to order ahead. Lastly, the staff is amazing....
