I am a Chicken lover fan! I might even become a groupie! I don't know what voodoo they did to this chicken, but it is outstanding! Moist, delicious and a flavor profile that blows away the other competitors, couple everything with the "Mystery" green sauce they serve and you are in heaven! The sides are pretty good and compliment the chicken , so far I have only had the corn, mash, roasted potatoes and mac and cheese. They also serve rice, yams and broccoli. I had the ribs in the past and they were meaty and succulent meat off the bone tender and delicious! The chef is a one man grilling machine. Orchestrating a symphony of grilled and charred delights! The staff and owners who take your orders are so warm and friendly and they treat each customer with warmth and sincerity! You can feel these guys are real genuine when dealing with you and they really appreciate your business without giving you the business. The indoor is rickety looking and not the best place to bring 1st dates on if you're trying to make a good impression. Listen up! If you want to ensure you get your grilled chicken/ribs DO NOT try to place a phone order after 745pm regardless for delivery or pick up. They will not pick up the phone, order way earlier because all the grilled food is sold out by 8:00 pm. They close the grill at 8:30 PM . Parking is tight and limited in the shared strip mall parking lot. There is street Parking on Northern Blvd but obey the signs since no cars are allowed to park between 4-7pm. Go around the residential blocks for a space. If you're a big Larry David fan and have watched his HBO show "Curb your Enthusiasm" the chicken here is just like the Palestinian chicken restaurant episode, it's that good it will have you choosing sides! My thoughts were so many yelpers cannot be wrong about this place and I was right, they were not wrong. This place was tasty fantastic shut the front door I may never cook chicken again. When I walked in the place was packed with the tables of people full of food and lip smacking happening. I ordered the family meal which was a whole chicken chargrilled and three large sides. They also give you this wasabi mayo stuff in your to go back and then the surprise 2 large pieces of grilled pita bread. The chicken was juicy, hot and delicious. It tasted like you went to a friends house to a barbecue and the friend could actually cook chicken. Lots of crispy skin if that's your thing. The chicken in packed fully chopped into all the regular pieces so you do not have to go all ninja warrior when you get home. Its easy to dish out the portions of chicken and the pieces are nice and large. This is no small chicken. The sides I choose tonight were the Mac n Cheese, Green Beans and Corn. Mac n Cheese - Nice and cheesy, macaroni very well done but not mushy. This side was a definite reorder when I come back here again. Did it have a crispy crusty top of cheese, no, but it was creamy and good and I did not miss the crispy crust which I want on high end Mac n Cheese at a restaurant. String Green Beans - These were really well seasoned and there were a few red peppers floating here and there in the broth. I did get the end of the evening batch so the beans were extra limp, but I am from the south and we like our string beans cooked for hours with ham, so the extra cooking was a plus for me. If you do not like overly cooked beans you might not like the beans, but they were very good and a definite reorder possibility for my next visit. Corn - Its corn and most would say it was just niblet corn, but this corn was super sweet, maybe they cook it with some sugar (like southerners who want the corn a bit sweeter), anyway, the corn was good and it was G approved. I usually get the corn for him since its it one of his favorites. The other sides which were available tonight were sweet potatoes and baked potato pieces with what looked like rosemary seasoning on them. The place was so busy that there was a line of cars waiting to get into the very small parking lot. The take out business here is off the charts and the delivery guy was in and out while I was there. This place was a home run for tasty food. If you are looking for ambiance this is not the place but if you want some good home cooking then definitely stop by, and just pay no attention to the stacks of stuff they have in the vestibule area. I think this place just does not have room for all the stuff and the front vestibule is considered a storage area. Who cares, the food is good. I will try the ribs next time and as long as they are as good as the chicken, then this place will score a 5, but for now I am giving it a 4. Its awesome! Finally I'm writing this review about Chicken Lovers that is wayyy overdue. This is a Bayside staple. I seriously think this should be considered a Bayside landmark! I've lost count how many times I've walked in here on any given night and the place is packed full of huge, brolic meatheads from the nearest gym on Bell Blvd -- Bell Plaza. What happened? That's A Wrap not feeding you guys enough?? :D (I kid, I kid). The chicken here is pretty damn good. Very flavorful, tender, cooked to perfection. Along with that green sauce (still no clue what's in it but it rivals Pio Pio). Their chicken makes Boston Market look like a JOKE! KFC?? WHAT'S THAT?? That ain't even real chicken! This is the perfect place to get your Super Bowl party grub. Succulent grilled chicken, meaty & juicy pork ribs and buffalo wings. OK the wings weren't all that, but the ribs were meatier than a linebacker's thighs without being too chewy and had a really good smoky flavor. The BBQ meat items are done on open flat grills including the chicken which tastes like it was rotisserie until you see them splayed out butterfly style on grates in the window. For $40, you get a whole chicken, a rack of ribs & 4 sides. There weren't a whole lot of choices for sides, but they were OK. Corn, mashed potatoes, Spanish rice, Mac & cheese and yams rounded it out. The place is nothing to write home about, tucked into a dark corner of a Northern Blvd strip. There is parking shared with the other stores for about 10 cars, but good luck getting one. There is a police station across the street and they hog up all the street spots. Came here with friends for a second lunch...lol so this is what happened. This place gets such a large volume of orders that it takes them about 30 mins to prepare your order. So instead of just sitting around and waiting for our food, my group of four, all being foodies, decided to place our orders first and go elsewhere for food while they prepared our food. After our first lunch, we came back and our orders were all waiting for us at the counter! #smart This place basically only has two main choices: chicken and ribs. They have various combinations of chicken+ribs at different prices. What I discovered is that some combos are more worth it than others so definitely do the math before placing your order! For example, the 1/4 chicken + 1/4 ribs and two sides combo may seem appealing but it is actually more cost efficient to get 1/2 chicken and two sides and 1/2 ribs and two sides and share it amongst the group. As for the food itself, I had really low expectations for the chicken but it ended up being really tasty! I thought it was going to be really dry, as most rotisserie chickens are, but this one ended up being so juicy! The spices were on point also. Mix in some green sauce and you've got yourself one pretty amazing chicken :) This place may be called Chicken Lovers and while the chicken was good, the ribs were even more amazing! The meat was literally falling off the bone and the bbq sauce that they used was so tasty! The sides were added to complete the meal but I found them to be very mediocre. The Mac and cheese tasted standard but the mashed potatoes were way too salty...The pita bread soaked up all the juices from the chicken, ribs and green sauce YUM! For a dinner date with a friend, we decided to hit up Chicken Lovers bc of the great reviews on Yelp. and yes, we are so glad we came! We ordered the 1/2 chicken + 1/2 ribs w/ 2 sides for $25 (including tax). Comes with flatbread. The young lady at the counter said it would be enough for two people, but what we ordered would have four people. The sides that the combo meal comes with comes in rather large styrofoam containers. But [*PRO TIP] you can ask for four smaller containers and then you can get 4 different sides instead of just two! That's what we did. Out of the four sides, we both agreed that the dill roasted potatoes were the best, next was the cucumber salad. The corn was alright, a bit dehydrated and hard; the mac and cheese was meh. But the ribs and chicken? To die for. So deliciously moist and flavorful, especially when you dip each sliver of meat into the green and bbq sauces. Pros: 1. Ridiculous quantity of food for the $$ (If uncertain how much will fill you up, size down). 2. You get to see the rows of ribs and chicken being grilled in front of your face, albeit behind a glass wall, but the sight is still wonderful. Cons: 1. Chicken Lovers is a hole in the wall. Everything's served in styrofoam containers and cheap plastic, but if you can get past that and appreciate the food then you're guaranteed to love it. 2. Parking is hell. However, after our last visit, I felt the need to post a review in the hopes that the owner would see it. We always order a full rack of ribs with two sides: rice and mac&cheese. Naturally, we understand that the price would go up due to inflation. However, the last several times we ordered, we only received 2 green sauces for a whole rack of ribs. Upon asking for 1-2 more sauces, we were charged. I understand that for some, 2 sauces may be enough, but if a customer asks for an additional sauce for a whole rack of ribs, I find it ridiculous to be charging them. Half a rack, 2 sauces? Fine. But a whole rack, and only 2 sauces? I find that to be a little ridiculous. Just to be clear, I didn't complain when I had to wait 2-3 hours once for an order, just to show up and be told that they didn't have the side I had ordered previously on the phone. I didn't complain when My glorious pita bread was forgotten. I didn't even complain when there was a mixup cause one of sides were wrong. But 2 sauces for an entire rack of ribs?! My ribs are just not the same without the green sauce and I'm sure most loyal customers would agree. Other than that, I would give chicken lovers 5 stars for the consistency and taste. read more

My family loves this place. The chicken is pretty tender, not too dry, and has good smoky flavor. Also for some reason their steamed broccoli tastes better than regular steamed broccoli. I reccomend getting the combo of whole chicken + sides, because it brings the price of the sides down to $2.50 each as opposed to $4 when purchased separately. Alright, you guys got me. The wait time for the food was at least 30 minutes and to pick up the food after requesting for my order was another 30 minutes. These guys are SUPER busy and I came in around 6:30pm. I assume this is dinner / rush hour time but I had hoped that this wouldn't be the case so I could get in and get out ASAP. Ordered the whole chicken, whole rack of ribs which came with 4 sides: mashed potatoes, rice, Mac n cheese and buttered corn. Whole chicken: Good, you're literally paying roughly $12 for a whole chicken and it's pretty worth it and it's filling. The flavor was just right and the char on it was perfect. (IMO) Rack of Ribs: I would honestly pass on this. There was a good amount of meat on it but it was fairly chewy. The sauce on it was a little overwhelming and this was I believe $20? Which is significantly pricier than the chicken but I don't think it was worth it. Mashed potatoes: Decent, had a nice buttery taste to it. Extremely smooth, I assume it was instant mashed potatoes but it meshed well with the food we ordered. Mac n cheese: A nice surprise. The noodles had a nice texture, wasn't over cooked and the amount of cheese was nice. I typically hate Mac n cheese that is sold in masses because I believe the quality goes down however this place got it right. Buttered corn: Can't go wrong with butter.. and corn. Really good side, has the sweetness from the corn and the savory fatty goodness from the butter. Rice: A little oily, had some bay leaves in it still. Was fine. Also complimented our dish. TLDR? Been going here for years and now. I had a birthday event here a few years ago. Love all the sides here, especially their rice, Mac and cheese, and roasted potatoes. The roasted potatoes are really perfectly seasoned. There are lunch specials here during the week, but I usually go with the chicken and ribs combo meal which comes with two sides. The ribs here are more worth it than the chicken, but if you're sharing with a group, it's nice to get a little of everything. The ribs fall right off the bone. They are so well flavored and never taste burnt. The food does take a while to prepare so be ready to wait (or you can call ahead for pick up since there may not be parking anyway) You can call ahead too. The staff are very friendly. A few parking spots are available out front, but there aren't a ton of spots. There aren't a lot of tables here, but I've never had trouble finding a seat. As someone who eats food around the Bayside/Flushing area often, Chicken Lovers is a name that people bring up often. I would see my friends eating it after a long day of studying, and I was always mesmerized by the mouth-watering aroma. I didn't get a chance to try it until now, and I have been converted to a Chicken Lovers fan. Their new ordering system is amazing and efficient - always call ahead of time and pick up! When I picked up my order, it was still piping hot, and even after my 20 minute drive home, the ribs were still fall off the bone juicy, succulent and moist. Their lunch special is insane, with 12-13 dollars for the amount of food and sides that they offer. I tend to always get the lunch special - ribs with sides of mash, corn or mac and cheese. The green sauce is divine, and I will gladly continue to pour all of that Shrek's juice into my mouth for as long as I continue to go there. Big big plus that they have a parking lot.
