This place used to be really good and well organized. Now it's just a mess.. everyone is just standing around waiting for their food. From 15 minutes to 30 minutes and then another 45 minutes.. they are always out of something because it isn't done yet. I would understand if it's a one off but the last two times I've been here it's been like that. They offer several meal options - we usually do the Family Meal #1, which comes with a whole chicken (cut up) and choice of 3 sides. Whenever I ask anyone that lives in the Bayside area if they know Chicken Lovers I usually see their eyes get a little misty and they fight the urge to drool. Once composed, they usually respond "of course!", or "Soooo goood..." something along those lines haha. Count me in as one of their fans. I once thought the chicken itself was rotisserie then they finish it on the grill, but nope. You can see photos of spatchcocked chickens all spread evenly over grills giving it a nice grilled flavor while keep everything juicy and delicious. Fun fact - I actually never been inside, but I've had this delivered many times. Its been a comforting go to the past few years. I usually get a family combo of a whole chicken and 3 sides that I make a few meals out of it or share it if I am feeling generous lol. The whole chicken usually is more than an actual whole chicken (I mean how many chickens have 3 drumsticks?) it seems whatever they can pack into a large container. A grilled pita rests on top of the pieces. My favorite side from here is probably the red roasted potatoes - buttery with dill they are just so good. Corn, Rice, Broccoli, cucumber salad, mashed potatoes or if you are feeling indulgent you can get the mac & cheese. Never a complaint with any side they have. Of course the green sauce is killer here. I always use Pio Pio as a frame of reference for this sauce because its where I first had it. They also serve ribs. I've had them before but they are not my favorite but no big deal - the sign says CHICKEN lovers not Rib lovers so it tracks. Have been ordering take out from here for over a year. I like their chicken and green sauce. I usually order half chicken (dark meat) with rice and corn. The ribs are also pretty good but make sure to ask for some extra bbq sauce on the side. They also have good notable sides like their Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The roasted potatoes are good but it is on the salter side for me. They are usually very busy throughout the whole day. It usually takes about 25-30 mins wait even for take out. They also close pretty early at 8 but they sometimes stop taking orders by 7:30pm so make sure to order a head. read more

They lost their touch! Post COVID, the flavor isn't there. The magic in their chicken and ribs has dissipated. It's good but it just doesn't hit anymore. We would always get the whole chicken and rack of ribs with their rice, cucumber salad, potatoes and corn. Their green sauce is as delicious as ever but they've become a bit tight on their sauces. I really have to ask for an exact number of sauces. The sides are consistent but something about the chicken and ribs. The portion is a bit smaller and the meats are sometimes beyond charred. They've become very mid I will say their online ordering process has definitely improved. Overall, I can't say I go out of my way for chicken lovers as much as I used to Ambiance is cold and not welcoming. There's a ton of staff and yet the one person I can rely on is the cashier. Hands down MY FAVORITE RIBS!!! Yes, this place is called Chicken Lovers, and ironically, I have never tried the chicken (I hear good things about it though). But they do their ribs justice--soft, tender, juicy, and insanely flavorful. Don't forget to ask for extra green sauce because it simply accentuates the flavors even more. With 1/4 ribs, you also get soft and fluffy pita bread and 2 sides. I love my Mac and cheese which is my go-to. The cavatappi pasta holds onto the cheese sauce very well, and mixing in the ribs with that is heavenly. The cucumber salad is slightly acidic but very refreshing to balance out the heaviness and grease from the meats. Service is fast, and staff are very polite and generous with portions. The money we spend is not easy to make, and we deserve to get value in return.
