Stopped by for a quick lunch after a hike. We were the only ones there at 11AM on a Saturday morning. We ordered the falafel plate and the spicy chicken kabab. Falafel plate: I'm such a huge fan of falafels and I really enjoyed it here. It was a little more grainy here and had a very strong herb taste. Still, my friend & I were huge fans. Spicy Chicken Kabab: I lowkey regretted ordering this instead of the salmon but holy moly I was so happy with it. The chicken was extremely juicy and just packed with flavor. I HIGHLY recommend the chicken here!! I got the spicy coleslaw and salad on the side. The spicy cole slaw had a spicy bbq flavor. I enjoyed it but next time, I would prefer the greek cole slaw. Let's talk about the delicious pita bread! We didn't order this for take out and instead ate in the store. They give you pita bread and more if you just ask! I Ordered two gyro sandwiches to go. When I opened my order we got falafel instead. Called to have our order corrected. We return the wrong order and manager decides to send us back the cold fries we got with the incorrect order. When I call to ask why I got cold fries with ketchup on it the manager Washington or Williams decides to have a debate on what I did and did not order. All he wanted to do is defend his position in sending me back with cold fries instead of correcting the order fully. And he charged us $2 for the correct sandwiches. Fast forward to me finally getting to eat my sandwich at home. A few bites in I find a nice big black hair in it. I've been going to this location for many years. I even know the owners. My expectations for Chicken Maison skyrocketed when I glanced at the Yelp reviews prior to arrival. I probably should have gotten chicken since it's in the name but I was tired of chicken at the time. Went with the gyro plate instead. The setup is no frills. Order at the counter, get a number and grab a table. The food came out rather quickly. You get quite a bit of food for under $15. The gyro meat was piled atop a heap of rice. You also get a side salad and some pita bread. The gryo meat was tender and dry at the same time, but had a decent amount of flavor. The rice was hot and very tender, cooked perfectly. The salad was underwhelming as it was mostly just lettuce stem and hardly any leafs. The pita bread tasted fresh but is served family style and my friends took most of it (whomp whomp). Overall my meal was filling and mostly satisfying but it's not a place I'd put on a regular rotation. Perhaps their chicken will change my mind in the future. The most memorable part of my visit was the men's bathroom, which had a mirror at crotch level. So odd. read more

This is my favorite Chicken Maison restaurant! It is located in the small plaza, but I did not have any trouble finding a parking spot so far on any of my visits. My obvious recommendation at this place will be to try their rotisserie chicken. It may not be the best you ever had, but it will be one of the best especially considering their price (It is served with 2 side orders, pita bread and garlic sauce. If you choose 1/4 chicken original, you will be paying only $8.55. Under $10 bucks for this type of a meal is definitely a "WOW."). And of course, their famous garlic sauce is very very addicting. Very friendly service with their very healthy food, you definitely will enjoy your time here. In addition to their rotisserie chicken, they also offer kabobs, salads, sandwiches, plates, pastas, soups, and desserts & drinks. So I decided to check out Chicken Madison for the very first time in the redondo beach area. I will admit that I was very disappointed. I placed an order for a chicken kabob. They only gave me 4 pieces of vegetables that typically go on a kabob and threw in some broccoli. Never had a chicken kabob that comes with broccoli. The thing that ticked me off the most was the vegetables on the stick. I received 4 measly pieces of shriveled onion, red pepper. And the chicken looked dry and tasted dry. I do not picture myself ever returning to this establishment. I even questioned my order to management and they said that this is what they do. Goes to show that these days businesses are trying to squeeze every bit of dollar from your pockets into theirs providing less than adequate service and in this case food. [The restaurant/service] Chicken Maison is conveniently located in a plaza that has a parking lot. Upon walking in, this restaurant is very spacious and has lots of seating. We ordered at the register, got a number, and sat down. There is an area with water cups and utensils. The water has lemon and mint which is a nice flavorful touch. Our food was brought to us and throughout our meal, they continuously came to check on us to make sure we were doing alright. [The food] I LOVE their food. I feel good while eating it as well as after eating it. It's a perfect meal for those that want something filling and satisfying but not too oily or heavy. -Entree // chicken and veggie kabob with steamed veggies and spicy hummus // 9.75 // I loved the chicken, so tender and tasted delicious with the garlic sauce. The veggies were perfectly steamed (broccoli, cauliflower, and fresh carrots), and the spicy hummus wasn't spicy at all but had really tasty flavor that went well with the pita bread. -Dessert // baklava// 2.95 // flaky and buttery with a sweet nutty filling...need I say more. -Side notes// extra garlic sauce is 50 cents per small container, its pretty worth it, if you love garlic! I try to eat some-what clean meals when I am out of town (since I usually go on a cheat meal rampage!)...Chicken Maison is ALWAYS a go-to for really fresh, tasty, and healthy meals when I'm in the Southbay. If I need a couple days worth of food, I usually opt for the "Chicken Feast" option. You get two whole chickens (which is delicious I might add!), a couple sides (I always do hummus, veggies, and rice). Other then that, you cannot really go wrong here...I love the kabobs too! Wow!!!! This place is amazing. Washington, the manager, suggested the sole plate and that piece of fish covered more than half of the plate. It was cooked perfectly also. He suggested the sweet and spicy coke slaw and it was delicious. We also ordered chicken with spicy garlicky lemon sauce, and hey, I can't come here and NOT get chicken. It says something when it's crowded on a Monday at 5:30pm and the cash registers are ringing away. Luckily we got our meals and started eating right before the line started to form. I ordered the Chinese chicken salad with some substitutes while my mom got the lamb and veggie kebab with a green salad and steamed veggies. Okay, I'm going to admit it ... I was literally craving a bowl of salad and some steamed veggies. The shredded chicken on my salad with pretty good. Because it's cols breast meat, it's not as tender as if it was kebab meat or thigh meat but still pretty tasty. Next time, I would go for the kebabs. The lamb was not overcooked and the skewered veggies were perfectly grilled. I just wish the accompanying dressings and sauces were a little more flavorful. I would not have guessed this to be a chain. A casual Mediterranean place that's a stones throw from my #1s house. I'll admit I like me a Gyro or pita & hummus every now and then. It brings me to the days when we'd come off the beach and gorge ourselves on pitas stuffed with kababs, yogurt and fresh veggies. Every time I visit #1 and his gal in Cali, I stop buy and pick up a gyro platter. I usually get extra side of Pita to boot. They offer choices of sides and I stick with hummus and salad. They never disappoint. I've found their staff friendly and efficient. On my last trip I actually had #1s girlie and she apparently got a botched order (keep in mind that she called right away, it was her lunch time and they offered a complimentary meal on her next visit). Even though, he couldn't find it in his book (yep they keep track) he still honored it. That's way cool. That's above and beyond. It's the reason that I'll return every time I travel here. OMG OMG OMG OMG SO AMAZING!!!! I got the salmon kebab. It had herbed salmon cooked to perfection with slices of (Was it zucchini?) Some kind of good-for-you - vegetable! The hummus and the rice are delicious, as well as the kebab vegetables. To be honest, I did not care for the tabbouleh too much. I think it's just because I'm used to the tabouli being minced really tiny like in the grocery stores. When I mixed it with the rice, it was great. I will definitely be patronizing Chicken Maison forever and ever, over and over again! That is some of the BEST food I've had in a very long time! Bonus: it is mostly very healthy! They could improve on the seating, though: the chairs and even the benches with their thin cushions were all very hard to sit on for long. read more

I ordered 2 feast meals (2 chicken & 6 steak kabobs) for a girls dinner that I am hosting at my house. The girls specific request was the garlic butter and pita.... Well it was my luck that today Chicken Maison had an off day. I usually check my whole order but I only checked the chicken and steak kabobs. They weren't that busy so I assumed that garlic & pita would be in the bag. #fail I received 4 garlic butter and 8 slice pita=4whole pita. I did speak to John the corporate manager to clarify what the feast meals came with. He apologized and said I should have been give more. I feel like I'm on step 8 of the AA steps for recovery, reaching out to make amends to the people that I have harmed. (By the way, I had to research that reference for this review. I am not currently an alcoholic, and although I won't make any promises about not becoming one in the future, I currently have no plans in that regard. However, I will say that if this pandemic continues for much longer, I'll sign up for just about anything.) So where were we? Making amends. I really am sorry for not writing an effusive review for you sooner. I started coming here more than a decade ago, when they had only one restaurant location and they also had an orange chicken dish on the menu that one of my friends had recommended. Was it a salad? If my memory serves me correct, yes, it was an orange chicken salad. Why don't you guys have that on the menu anymore? It was incredible. Oh, wait, this review was supposed to be effusive. Okay, let's get down to it. The Lemon Garlic Chicken might be the best rotisserie chicken that you'll ever eat. And the prices here are quite reasonable. I always say that eating out at restaurants should be all about the value that you get for the dollars that you spend, and in my mind, the original Chicken Maison location is the archetype for that. It seems the busier this place get the comes out really poor. Twice I have gotten really old baked potatoes, when they get to that stage throw them away. Last night my husband picked up takeout food I ordered the Alfredo with no mushrooms or broccoli just add sun dried tomatoes. I explained I know this sounds like the other pasta you have. I just wanted chicken with sun dried tomatoes and the Alfredo sauce. I got really mushy pasta with chicken and a pile of cheese melted on the top. No Alfredo sauce. This was a $16.00 meal.
