I ordered the Chicken Fiest which is enough for 4-6 people and comes with two whole chickens (extra $5 for the Spicy Garlic Chicken and Lemon Basil chicken). I decided to splurge on the family dinner so I ordered the Spicy Garlic Chicken and Lemon Basil chicken which was an additional $10 on top of the $26.95 for the meal. The meal also comes with 4 large side orders, pita bread, and garlic sauce. If you decide to get the garlic fries as a side it counts as two large sides. I would only recommend you getting the garlic fries if you eat in since soggy fries are never good to eat at home. When you do order in, the garlic fries are delicious and comes with a huge serving plenty for 4-6 people. If I had to choose my favorite of the two chickens I would go with the Spicy Garlic Chicken. My parents were afraid the chicken would be too spicy but it was not spicy at all. If anything it was super flavorful and full of spices. My parents and I could only eat half of the Chicken Fiest so we had a little more than half to take back home. The next day I reheated the chicken and it was still as moist as the first day. The staff is really nice and courteous. There is plenty of parking as long as you don't go at lunch time. Favorite thing to get for my family is the Whole Chicken Spicy Lemon-Garlic if I want to kick it up a notch, or the lemon basil The maison rice, greek coleslaw and potato salad complement the chicken to give you a full feast. I love the texture of the rice as I let it soak in the juices of the chicken. The greek coleslaw makes your dinner feel fresh and light. And the potato salad is not heavy but gives depth to the chicken. Don't forget to dip everything in the garlic sauce! I like to get extra as I make chicken pita sandwiches and add more sauce to it. The process is simple and my food was ready for me by the time I arrived. // FOOD // Steak and veggie kabob plate: Tender pieces of steak along with a veggie kabob consisting of onions, bell pepper, tomato, mushrooms and zucchini. You get to choose two sides with this dish. Typically, I order the rice and either the hummus, steamed veggies or the salad. They also give you pita bread and the garlic sauce. I had to ask for the dessert I ordered and she challenged me-you have to pay! Already did. She also let us know she was taking the silverware when clearly we had the dessert to eat. She did bring us bodes and two bags. Management rounded on all tables but ours-? Food Take out is better. Large salads. The chicken had lots of chicken and nice spring mix. The salmon was dry and the kale had so many stems-I thought they were some kind of decorative sticks. I've had this many times before as take out and it was far better. The grape leaves were delish and are served with lemon on a bed of lettuce. They should offer a half portion as the serving is 6. Warm pitas are setved without butter or sauce. Some kind of sauce is served with meal- not sure if it is supposed to be tzaziki but it tasted potatoey. Baklava is fantastic and served with a side of light honey. This place started off with no expectations and ended with heavy disappointment. But let me tell you the good things first. DECO: 4 stars The place is a small and quaint little spot off PCH. The design is rustic, and feels like it was designed by the local senior center. The walls are painted yellow with a brick motif on the bottom and counter. They have framed pictures of old paintings that distinguish someplace, and nowhere at the same time. The place could be best described as a "nook". SERVICE: 3 stars The service is good. The cashier/server is dressed in a white or black tank top and jeans. The cashiers I saw were both attractive, and had big smiles with plenty of eye contact. They didn't interact with me much outside of my order, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. FOOD: mismatched This is what ultimately gives this place a three star rating. I ordered the chicken sandwich with garlic fries. I thought, "Hey, the name of this place has 'chicken' in it. The chicken must be good!" As I was waiting, I peered into the kitchen, and saw several spits of chicken roasting away. My mouth was salivating, and I started getting excited to eat. When I got the food and saw what was in front of me, my smile turned upside down. It was down right disappointing. The sandwich looked delicious, wrapped in its gyro bread, but when I took a bite, I realized they used COLD shredded chicken. COLD! Maybe if I was prepared for COLD chicken, I wouldn't have been as sad, but I was in no way, shape, or form ready for such goose-bumped chicken flesh. The fries that came with it were pathetic. They used fresh potatoes like In-N-Out, and it would be fair to compare the flavor similar to In-N-Out's fries. Unfortunately, the fries were soggy and flaccid, as erect as an old man's "passion". It was like eating bitterness with each chew. The reason the food is mismatched however is because of the gyro and falafel. Both were very good, with the gyro being generously portioned in meat, with a great garlic paste/sauce. If the chicken sandwich was down right disappointing, the gyro was a hadoken, because it was down right fierce! PRICE: 3 stars Price hovers around $8 - $11. Not bad for the portions you get. CONCLUSION With a place where chicken should be the star, it was their other dishes that really shined. Maybe the sandwiches just aren't their bread and butter. Maybe their chicken plates are really where it's at. Whatever the reason might be, this outing was a complete bust. Delicious Mediterranean food. I've never tasted Spicy-lemon garlic Rotisserie Chicken chicken so juicy and flavorful. The hummus is also very tasty. I don't know what the white sauce that comes with the food is, but also tastes good with everything, the pita bread, chicken, salad, rice, and even just by itself. I've also tried the Chinese Chicken Salad. The romaine lettuce is very fresh and crispy. The chicken in the salad doesn't taste as good as the rotisserie, but the salad is still very good. This was one of our more favorite places to eat in the South Bay... Recently, we have noticed that their service has been getting to be considerably spotty... Couple of months back, we had ordered the chicken feast to go... After payment, they gave us our order and we asked if this was complete... they said yes and we took our order home... to our dismay, they forgot to give us the chicken... Long story short, they offered a free entree at our next visit... Fast forward to today... thought I would go ahead and pickup the free entree that they had offered... placed the order and let them know that I was redeeming the free meal that was offered previously. Ordered the Chinese chicken salad which is one of our favorites... Got home and started eating, and found a piece of a latex glove in the salad... Ugh!!! So gross, so I called back to the store to complain to the manager... once again, they offered a free meal, and said that he'll investigate... Either way, totally lost my appetite and I think I may avoid Chicken Maison for a long time... Manager was really nice and apologetic, but this is a food safety issue... Obviously, if someone had a ripped glove and they should have tossed out that salad and made a fresh batch, but they didn't... Did the food preparer not realize that someone was bound to find this? This place made me fall in love with mediterranean food! My usual is the quarter chicken maison original with the side of steamed veggies and a baked potato! I've also tried their other sides such as hummus dip, french fries and brown rice. You can't go wrong with any of it. Sometimes I would order the gyro which is also very tasty. It's great how this place is extremely affordable while still being really healthy. I honestly would come here over In N Out any day(and I really love In N Out). I used to love this place. Everything was consistently top notch. Unfortunately the quality control has gone downhill. The kale salmon salad used to be excellent but the last two times I've gotten it to go, the lettuce was dry (maybe they used to spritz it with water?) some of it wilted and the salmon was overcooked. The steak kebabs were not seasoned properly. A little more attention to keeping the salad crisp would have made a big difference. I hope they get their groove back. I've been here a couple of times and I keep coming back... What does that tell you? I always get the 1/4 rotisserie chicken with either fries, hummus, salad, or rice. This time, I got it with fries. My sister got the same 1/4 chicken, but with double rice and we swamped so we could both have half fries, half rice. The rotisserie chicken was juicy and moist, not to mention very flavorful. How can a meal be so filling, healthy and delicious all at the same time?! I stumbled upon this place around dinnertime right after landing into LAX from a trip and was craving some Mediterranean food. It was around 8pm on a Friday night and my stomach was growling. Weird to say how thankful I am to have felt so hungry because I would have never ran into this modern fast casual restaurant. Like many other Middle East cuisines, they offer kabobs plates, gyros and salads. They also have some pasta and chicken rotisserie dishes too. I've only been to location once and had their chicken and vegetable kabob with a side of grape leaves and spicy hummus. For around $10, I got a juicy piece of grilled chicken on a skewer, 5 grape leaves, a heaping scoop of hummus and 2 pita breads with garlic spread. As you can imagine, my tummy was stuffed and my cravings were satisfied. I even felt a little sad that my meal was over as everything tasted wonderful. Service can get a little busy when there's a lot of people but I do give them props for hustling as best as they can to deliver exquisite dishes. What's even more impressive is how they have food options for a larger party such as their chicken feast at an affordable cost. People think chicken is healthy. They're generally right. But not when you smother it in oil. It's like a salad. Healthy. Until you drown it in dressing. The chicken here is good. It's amazing in fact! But get over your healthy bit, its drenched in oil! I do like it however. We generally get the spicy-lemon half chicken with spicy hummus and the asian coleslaw. So good! The chicken is rotisserie so it just falls off the bone. The skin is not good for you but it is so good for your taste buds. Gently crisped and drenched in their amazing, oily, lemon-garlic flavors. I don't know why a French house of chicken serves such great Mediterranean gyro platters but they do. I'm so stuck on the gyro plate that I can't even try anything else, but the kofta is a sizable slab of well-seasoned sausage as well.
